- I'm not very good at audio recording....yet :)
I'm sure it can be better than this but it's better than nothing.
I'm using a presonus firebox for recording and logic to edit.
The guitar is a Furch G23CR and the music is Angelina by tommy emmanuel ( pieces of intro and verse). Not close to the original ;-)
The reverb is the first one I found in logic, I have not changed the default settings. It can be better too.
Bruno
came for the mic test, stayed for the nice music
Thank you !
@BrunoBaudewyns Thanks alot mate for the quick answer! Im gonna get me one of those! Thanks again!
Look for a spot for the mic between the 15th and the 12th fret! You'll find the perfect blend of sweet and mellow. Great playing; helped with my shopping decisions too haha
very nice Angelina
excellent job man. very nice playing.
Excellent demo of the pick up and lovely playing.Want to get one for my travel guitar. :o)
Good comparisons - the Baggs on its own gets my vote!
@SavantSvant I Svante, thanks for the comment. Unfortunately I can't help you regarding effects. I mainly use the LR Baggs for live gigs and the only effect I use with it is the mixer's reverb. However the M1 is a magnetic pick up so I guess it should respond well to gain & overdrive, even whawha:)It sounds better than a piezo system & with a condenser mic you risk larsen problems. If you're looking to electrified your acoustic, a soundhole pick up like the M1 is the best choice. Hope that helps :)
Thanks for a great demo and comparison. Very good playing also.
This pickup is amazing! I bought it for my '97 Taylor 714 dead silent, very microphone like a little equalizing and it's perfect! I was playing a '2000 takamine G-series stock undersaddle sounded good this sounds great!
Very good mic indeed. Thank you for watching !
The Pulsar II sounds great! Just bought a pair, hopefully I can do wonders with it like you have!
THis is really helpful. the contrast is great! thanks.
@samusd62 It's 'Angelina' by Tommy Emmanuel.
Wow beautiful playing bud i have the tri ax in my epiphone i may try recording with my sm57 aswell as my takamine tri ax pick up. Great song, great playing, youve got a fan :)
@ReneeJeVaroni Thank you :)
@QueenToKingOfSpades Hi. There is 2 version of the M1 a passive and an active one. I'm not sure, but I think you do need a preamp with the passive and not necessarily with the active, which has a higher output level.
However, I doesn't mean you can't use one with the active version. You can use a preamp to sculpt your sound and not necessarily to raise up the output level!
This sounds more than GREAT! I surely didn't expect that, especially not from this cheap mic.
Hello I´ve been looking around for some kind of acoustic pickup and there L.R. Baggs came up before my eyes on thomann.de; how do they work if i but some effects on, like gain, overdrive etc.
Thanks for any type of answer and great playing there mate! :)
Regards // Svante (Sweden)
@BrunoBaudewyns Thanks for the quick answer friend! I will get myself on of those, think im gonna get L.R.Baggs M1 Active Soundhole Pickup from thomann.de. But I have one more question, is it hard to instal the endpin jack socket into the guitars body?
Regards // Svante
@FingersSoAwesome HI. It's not the best mic to record vocals, but it makes the job done. Check out some of my other videos. I did some cover song with a singer, using this microphone for the voice!
nevermind my recent question, there's an answer just below my post:)
what is the name of this awesome song??
Do you need an external preamp with the M1?
Angelina by Tommy Emmanuel
@BrunoBaudewyns Hi, how this pickup alone react with percussive elements on the body when you just knock the top and sides?
How did you record the sound from the LR baggs and upload it to your computer ?
@nicospahni Hi. Off course it's not like a real condenser microphone in the guitar's body but for my purpose it responds well, not to "boomy".
I guess i could send you an audio file with some slap test ;)
Contact me if you're interested.
nice! what music are you playing? any tabs?
@janklosowski Hi, it's not like a real condenser mic in the body but for my purpose it's enough.
I did an audio file with some slap test for another youtuber. If you sent me a private message with your e-mail adress, I can send it to you.
Bruno
Can I find tabs?
