Mikawa is #1 on my JM to buy list. I have 7 and started my collection last fall. I think I'm going to lose my Shaina a late freeze hit her hard. What zone are you in and what do you use as your potting mixture?
Mikawa is a great tree. Early to leaf in spring, strong in the sun and late to drop leaves in fall with nice color. I’m in 8b. My Shaina was finicky last year but seems to be improving. I made my own potting mixture: 3 parts potting soil (no manure) 2 parts small pine bark nuggets 1 part pumice (1/8 size) Hope that helps.
