Your video was a saviour, many thanks. I found you can access and remove switch without needing to remove the door handle with the T20 etc, just a bit tighter space to work with but comes out no problem. However, after swapping out the switches with a new one, I still found the fault with my driver window, along with issues with all four other windows remained. Next, I opened and exposed the door wiring loom between door and body, unclipped rubber boot and wiring loom and found a very fine red/white wire that had a clean break, reconnected and that fixed it. So along with the switch going, a common problem is the wires breaking within that rubber door loom that bridges door to body.
I went thru the exact procedure to replace the broken switch on my wife's '07 A4. Pulling out the metal trim panel was a neat trick I wouldn't have known about. Thanks to you, youtube and other videos like this made it quick and easy. Just wish they made those silly plastic clips that break off so easily with better plastic.
I just followed the instructions in this video and changed my driver side window panel without any issues. Thank you for your step by step instructions
This is a great video - bought the part from 1A Auto. I was tempted to replace the switch without the removal of the door handle but I already had the T20 and it gave me a chance to marvel at Audi engineering. Thanks again!
Couple of points. 2:00 First, this maybe model specific, but there's one more Philips screw right at the bottom that will prevent removal if not undone. Plus mine had 4 latches to pull out near each corner, wasn't quite as simple as a gentle pull. 3:40, 6 extra screws, not 3, which you can see in next scene have also been removed. It might be a bit pedantic but some literally following this may find this helpful. 4:40 if your having trouble getting the switch out, as there's also 2 tabs on the back which can be tricky to undo, due to reach, but you can remove the panel that houses the switch from the door handle, no screws or tabs just need to pry it away from 4 points.

Thanks, great video. Just ordered a new switch from you guys. Rear doors won't open unless I hold down the child safety button but once I release the window stop moving. Also hoping this fixes my problem with the car not unlocking when I get out and my keys and I get locked out. Learned to never get out of the car without my keys or leaving a window open. Thank you, Tom

Excellent video and thanks for the great deal on the power window switch gear! However, I want to add to the instructions for this video that might be pertinent to particular years of the Audi A4. I have a 2003 Audi A4. There is a single Phillips head screw at the very bottom center of the door panel. With the age of my car, it took a fair amount of force to pop the door panel retaining clips off the door. I actually broke two of the clips in the removal process. (This proved to be not vital in replacing the door panel since the panel has many attachment points.) I would also advise to remove the power lead to the power mirror switch so you can separate the armrest completely from the door panel. Once the armrest is removed from the door panel you can see that the armrest is actually two pieces. Separate the plastic part of the armrest (which holds the power window switch gear) from the rest of the armrest. This will give you access to the window switch on both sides. There are two more retainer clips on the far side of the switch that need to be loosened (like the front side). This made it much easier to remove the switch! The installation of the switch, putting the door panel back together, and reinstalling the poor panel onto the door was fairly easy.
BTW. The nomenclature, the casing, and the connector look different from the original equipment on my 2003 Audi A4. However, the retainer clips are in the same location and the power connectors matched up and clipped into place with no problem. You don't even notice the different nomenclature on the switches from the other door window switches.

Excellent video, but there is a step you might want to include when you are removing the switch. Sometimes it doesn't lift straight up, like in the video. That's what I experienced; you can take the armrest apart since it also clicks in on the other side as well. Otherwise, you can break the clips that hold it in. Thanks again.

Thanks for the video. Very clear and very easy to follow. I ordered the switch from you guys, and installed it in a few minutes! Unfortunately, it did not fix my problem :( All my windows work, EXCEPT the driver side. The switch was pretty easy to replace, so I started there. My door entered some sort of error, the lights and switches on the door panel don't work but they worked before removing the panel. The speaker works though. Is there something you gotta do to restart the ecu in the door or??
This is auch an excellent video! I THINK this is my problem, but maybe you can help? About 2 months ago I left my interior light on overnight which caused my battery to go dead.
