it's amazing how Chris(their guitarist) can pull off riffs and solos so signature-ey after doing a lot of death metal with Shadow of Intent's last album
As for your thoughts on "Poverty of Self", I'm certain they made that song to be a direct, anger driven banger - most likely written for the crowd at a show. Not all songs are written to be complex , sometimes less is more. This song in particular does what it's meant to do, slam.
bruh i've been watching your videos all day I love your channel lol now you're inspiring me, i've always wanted to make a channel to talk about music and such, and now I just might
Haha got me with the antenna 😂 Had no idea what you were on about until you zoomed in This song is sick tho. It's sooo Currents but a little bit fresh and different. The chorus is dope and then that solo as well
I thought the same while listening the first time. Like the feeling is relatable, just stronger and harder with those amazing riffs and screams. My favorite track tho.
Literally my first thought as well! The intro and chorus are straight out of hard rock to me. Definitely gave me BB vibes for sure in the best ways (huge fan of theirs)
This song is definitely my favourite of the four singles so far but I enjoyed the other three as well. The riffs are mental in this one and so are the lyrics. My man Brian went off at people 😂
I haven't heard Currents in a couple years and since that one album I've wanted them to do more cleans since they used to be scarce, but then this is like.. Perfect lmao and it's personally very relatable
I definitely share your sentiments on this track, great song from start to finish 👌🏻 like you said it’s a game changer in comparison to the previous tracks and keeps us looking forward to their next material. I would definitely recommend listening to Ghosts by Overthrone, I heard it recently and was very impressed. Curious to hear what you think about it 🤟🏻
I love how he says Second Skin is not a memorable song to him at all, when i feel from the 4 tracks they released so far, it's the one closest to Into Despair, which he claims to love :P I liked Monsters a lot. Tbh its probably my least favorite of the 4 releases. But that's the thing with Currents, even the least favorites are bangers. I personally enjoyed A Flag To Wave a lot, maybe because of the message it brings along, which i find super relatable to. Favorite is by far Poverty of Self. Those lows are just disgusting.
Second skin is cool too. Flag to wave is not so good, I hate the moment with autotune (when Brian sing - to carry to the end) but Monster is as good as previous EP. Good job. Thanks for rewiew)
Hi man! Very good song. I don't like very much clean vocals, but in this song the chorus is awesome. I would like to suggest you Crystal Lake, a japanese band with very interesting songs and vídeos. If you don't know them, I think you'd enjoy their metalcore. You could listen Omega, Devilcry and Hail to the Fire.
The track is a little bit generic for Currents, sounds like Northlane, The Place I Feel Safest and the EP were amazing albums so i am stoked, my favorite single is Second Skin because that track have The Place I Feel Safest vibes
Not a fan of their new stuff tbh. Erase Me was pretty good, but the other two singles have been lackluster Idk if it's the song structure or what, but something is just off
I deffo see why Chris Wiseman said this is going to be their most successful song to date, but I‘m honestly kinda disappointed. Maybe I‘m just expecting too much given that they are my favorite band, but the track just seems so boring to me. The chorus is admittadly very catchy but I can‘t stand the „wohoho“, that‘s something I‘d expect in a Skillet track or something but not Currents lol. That being said I‘m sure the record will be awesome and June seriously can‘t come early enough
Kind of agree. The riffs were nice, but somehow the song didn't blast me away, which i come to exect by currents these days. Perhaps the biggest thing was lack of intesety on this one. I am sure we will get some more bangers on the album tho, loved the rest of the singles.
I can see what you're saying, I've been reading up a lot on the album as it seems you may have as well. If I remember in that radio interview with Wiseman, it seems like they've released all the songs that aren't "the best" so far, advised by Sharptone. However, I'm open to the experimental stuff, like in this song with the "Wohoho", I don't really mind it; if it gains Currents popularity. I guess they're just seeing what they can push or make? They're still an extremely young band with so much talent in there. I wouldn't put anything past this new album just yet, we got 6/7 songs left & from what I've heard there's a lot of interesting stuff being said, especially about the final 2 tracks.
Their singles have me kinda worried tbh this and the other one have been kinda generic to me. They also do the 'woah-oh' singing which every metalcore band seems contractually obligated to use, just seems lazy.
it's amazing how Chris(their guitarist) can pull off riffs and solos so signature-ey after doing a lot of death metal with Shadow of Intent's last album
hes on another level, i wish currents would use his badass cleans too haha
I think a main difference is 7 string vs 6 string between the 2 bands.
Now THIS is the Currents I wanted to hear! 100% agree on your comments about the last single.
This is why love this channel. Too many talented groups out there I don't know and they deserve a chance
As for your thoughts on "Poverty of Self", I'm certain they made that song to be a direct, anger driven banger - most likely written for the crowd at a show. Not all songs are written to be complex , sometimes less is more. This song in particular does what it's meant to do, slam.
THIS TRACK IS A MONSTER!!! 🤘😝 can’t wait for the album.
I got some northlane vibes from this
Yeah on the last breakdown I thought the same. The new northlane I mean
Same
bruh i've been watching your videos all day I love your channel lol now you're inspiring me, i've always wanted to make a channel to talk about music and such, and now I just might
This band is AMAZING!!! Those cleans and screams are 🔥🔥
Sick reaction man!
The second verse had grooves throughout. The solo reminded me of Trivium and As I Lay Dying.
I dont know what it is about the chorus but it also screams aild to me
The video cutout in the left corner should be bigger imo. It should cover the screen behind.. it's kinda irritating to see two same videos at a time
Yea. I agree. Small gripe, but easily avoided.
I hadn't even noticed it until I read your comment lmao
gonna fix it in my next reactions, thanks for letting me know!
Damn now THIS is Currents!
The screaming guitar al 1,56 is SICK AS FUCK. Crazy
Gotta react to the new Bleed From Within album when it comes out next Friday.
I can confirm that he will :)
Haha got me with the antenna 😂 Had no idea what you were on about until you zoomed in
This song is sick tho. It's sooo Currents but a little bit fresh and different. The chorus is dope and then that solo as well
Another banger from my favorite band)
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Intro & chorus sounds like a mix of Breaking Benjamin and Starset to me (in a good way) lol
I thought the same while listening the first time. Like the feeling is relatable, just stronger and harder with those amazing riffs and screams. My favorite track tho.
Literally my first thought as well! The intro and chorus are straight out of hard rock to me. Definitely gave me BB vibes for sure in the best ways (huge fan of theirs)
honestly think the fact that he uses cleans so rarely normally gives them a little more impact when he DOES use them
Super excited for the album, all the singles have been very promising
This song rips! The guitars pinches and effects are exactly what I expect from this band.
This is really good
Neva heard of them but definitely enjoyed this song
Then a solo !!??
Great review 👍
I hadn't listened to currents until recently and they are sick!
This song is definitely my favourite of the four singles so far but I enjoyed the other three as well. The riffs are mental in this one and so are the lyrics. My man Brian went off at people 😂
June 5th is my 27 birthday whoo
This and Second Skin are my fav Currents songs
I haven't heard Currents in a couple years and since that one album I've wanted them to do more cleans since they used to be scarce, but then this is like.. Perfect lmao and it's personally very relatable
This track is slaps 🔥
New album out today 🙌🙌🙌🙌
Gotta be honest, this is up there with one of my favorite songs by current's. Its absolutely magnificent!
That's how to handle a funny hair moment when you realize it come edit time.
Best of the singles 👌🏼
I definitely share your sentiments on this track, great song from start to finish 👌🏻 like you said it’s a game changer in comparison to the previous tracks and keeps us looking forward to their next material. I would definitely recommend listening to Ghosts by Overthrone, I heard it recently and was very impressed. Curious to hear what you think about it 🤟🏻
This song is crazy
The End At The Beginning - Earth
What type of headphones are you wearing? Thank you in advance
phillips shp9500 :)
That riff in the beginning reminds me so much of Thornhill. Amazing album.
I love how he says Second Skin is not a memorable song to him at all, when i feel from the 4 tracks they released so far, it's the one closest to Into Despair, which he claims to love :P

This breakdown actually reminds me hurricane by wss breakdown
I liked the video the second I read that sentence within the first three seconds
Sounds like it has a Cold vibe with the clean lyrics.
Fuck yeah dude. Nice reaction bro. Its also my favourite from the album 🎧😁🤘
I like it more than the new fit for a king song, actually like currents more in general. The new album is gonna be good.
Such a fucking brutal song
It's their 5th album
Have you ever checked out old Hands Like Houses?
One Hundred from their first album Ground Dweller is so good
What's happened to them I listened to them years ago and saw them live. Really vibed with them. Haven't heard of them in a long time
Is the face at 4.24 because it sounds familiar? Its taken me 3 days to figure it out but its While She Sleeps Hurricane 😜
01:53 Holy Shit, that noise !😤😍
Haha your hair lol. This song is lit. Currents are an awesome band
Out Of Vision - Haunting Me :D
From what I know it's the second full length album, then there are two other EP's.
ALL which are good.
The soft parts sounds like COLD in your album "year of the spider"
Fuck this goes hard
Second skin is cool too. Flag to wave is not so good, I hate the moment with autotune (when Brian sing - to carry to the end) but Monster is as good as previous EP. Good job. Thanks for rewiew)
This is on par with Trilogy from SP
React to The Broken View's music video for their song 'something better'
I think currents will get as popular like wage war but they will never release a soft album like pressure
The beginning of this song give me demon hunter vibes
One does not mention Crystal Lake without mentioning Aeon
The whole Nothing It's True by Enter Shikari please :(
Am I the only one who think his scream sounds a ton like Chris Motionless?
YO check out the new Upon A Burning Body single
Check out The Wise Man's Fear- The Relics Of Nihlux
This
The track is a little bit generic for Currents, sounds like Northlane, The Place I Feel Safest and the EP were amazing albums so i am stoked, my favorite single is Second Skin because that track have The Place I Feel Safest vibes
Make Them Suffer man come on?
Not a fan of their new stuff tbh. Erase Me was pretty good, but the other two singles have been lackluster
Idk if it's the song structure or what, but something is just off
He's talking about album singles. Hollowed Heart isn't on the new album.
Love the chorus on soul decay
@Jesse MacKenzie Hollowed Heart is my fav song they've put out, was hoping the new album was gonna go in that direction

Ez Vintage™ l DN Vintage™ What was being said about the last 2 tracks? Think I missed that

Idk I thought flag to wave was amazing🤷♂️
