I sat down with my two best friends and a couple of beers at around 00:00 when this was released, both kinda like softer metalcore stuff but never listened to Currents before. Throughout the first songs we were all joking and talking about the music, but when this song came on none of us was speaking a word anymore, all three of us just sat there getting chills again and again. It was amazing. Edit: Also Happy Birthday dude!
Could anyone recommend me some softer metalcore bands then :3 I also like songs like these (perfect mix of clean n unclean vocals). Heavy instruments dont bother me tho
@@d1st0rt037 A band that comes really close to this style is Being As An Ocean. Their album „Waiting For The Morning To Come“ also combines harsh vocals in the verses with beautifully sung chorusses and the instrumentals are mostly soft and more electronic influenced. I‘m pretty sure Currents took some influences from them for the record. Also the albums a fucking masterpiece, pretty sure you won‘t regret giving it a spin
Current's vocalist Brian Wille says of this track; "It's about holding on tight to the ones you care about even when you're dealing with difficult times. When people hear the track, I hope they feel inspired to take some time to appreciate the people around them and remember that negativity is normal but beatable."
This is the one Song on the Album that gets to me in a whole different way. The pre chorus is just perfection, one of the best Things i have ever heard. Thanks for sharing the reaction with us!
I too almost cried watching this. Haven't listened to this song in almost a year, it just takes me straight back the dark times after my breakup. This song conveys so much.
This album is the one of those where singles are not that good as the rest of the album. Origin, how i fall apart and better days are mindblowing tracks.
Bro like I literally like exactly those 3 songs the most. Their whole album is so phenomenal. Some can argue it’s not as riffs or groovy as their debut but damn... ITS SUCH A GOOD ROCK ALBUM
"But the shadows keep whispering to me" - at this moment i wanna cry, he sings it with so sad emotions, so i'm tear on pieces, favourite words of all time
1:20 just before you said you get chills, I got full body chills as well. This album, is something else, man. I enjoyed the singles, but I didn't love them. However as a whole album, every song is really good and works so well. Most of them give me chills. How I Fall Apart actually did make me fully tear up because it's so relatable, and real. I have a good amount of songs that deal with the reality of depression, loneliness, and other negative emotions, but none of them have made me feel so.. I guess, understood for lack of a better term, than that song did. And then to end it off with Better Days, with how dark and dreadful the guitar sounds in it... Not even to mention Brian's vocals. This might be my favorite album so far of this year if I'm completely honest.
I know i'm late to the party, but i just listened to this whole album on repeat for the last 2 days, and i felt all those feels you felt. Was curious if you had reacted to this, happy to see you had. Cheers
This is definitely my AOTY so far. Guardians and Death of Me were great but this album does everything and does it right. It’s heavy and soft, emotional and pissed off.
As a HUGE Polaris fan, I’d have to go with TDOM, but my mate introduced me to Currents with this album and I had it on repeat for a week. It’s incredible, and I can’t find fault with it or the band. They’re so talented, and the production is super super clean.
Still to this day Currents is the best band I never heard of play at a show. I was at this show mainly to see the plot in you. Currents played right before them. I had no idea who they were and I was just completely mind blown at how good they were. There was also no coat check and they held my jacket all show for $5 lol
This album is AMAZING! I've been listening it non-stop since its release, but this song is by far my favorite. I've been listening to it multiple times a day.
Haha I'm thinking this may be my favorite song by them. The use of the synths is haunting, the riff is just crushing, Brian's vocals are fantastic and the lyrics feel relatable to me as I've recently found myself so disillusioned with humanity over the past year. The Way It Ends is definitely my favorite release of theirs but yeah, this song is at least top 3 if not my favorite.
this is honestly my favourite song from this album, Currents did a great follow up for TPIFS, they went waaaay more melodic than their first album while keeping their heavyness and their identity
It's so hard to me to understand the meaning behind the song. The biggest hint is the ending, it almost sounds like he sees himself as just an object to the other person. Only there to help them instead of getting to help and love he deserves. Maybe that's not at all what it's about idk, either way it hits different.
Brian is one special vocalist currents as a whole can’t do any wrong
Does he do the cleans also?
Jason Rice yes sir! He’s great
@@IXI-InfaMoUs I've been listening to them for about a year now and I thought they had 2 singers.
@@jasonrice6966 they do, the guitarist chris wiseman does back up vocals and i seriosuly think that is chris doing the chorus.
Hes really nice too, go to meet him at concert last year
HAPPY BIRTHDAY HARD CORE
“You’re making me hate a world so good to me.”

Thank you so much and that's really awesome haha
That's a really cool story, I can totally see that.
What other softer metalcore bands do you recommend?

Dude yes! Love the whole album but this one and the ones u mentioned blow the singles out of the water
Singles where nice too, monsters is such a nice track.
The singles are good but the rest of the album is awesome
‘Better days’ is one of the best tracks I’ve ever heard. The chorus is amazing 🤘😝

Has become my favorite track by them next to "My Disguise"
I've never been into Currents, but since it's release this album is the only thing i been listening to
Great option for a next cover

My favorite off the album 🔥
I love the fact some metalcore bands are delving into the ambience side, it's beautiful ❤️
How I fall apart is my favorite
Kill is the ache is one of my favs on the album. I hope you do a reaction to Split aswell, I keep coming back to that song for some reason.
This song is what happens if being as an ocean and architects had a kickass baby
Didn't even consider that comparison but that's pretty great
1 year later and this song is still in my top 10.
The years go by, but this song is still in my top 10 easily.
I know i'm late to the party, but i just listened to this whole album on repeat for the last 2 days, and i felt all those feels you felt. Was curious if you had reacted to this, happy to see you had. Cheers
I revisited your reaction cause .I feel the same.currents is my favourite band and this song touch you inside.
Better days please ❤️

Good call. I would say this is far better than Polaris' new one. August Burns Red's album was underwhelming.
@@c4gob00m same. would love to see a tour with both currents and polaris. both are insanely talented bands that kill it live
I'm always surprised by the fact that people tear up at the same Songs i do... 🥹
Kill the ache? More like kill me with feelings. I got all teared up too when I heard this

you're not alone bro this made me teary eyed too
This is my album of 2020 by a million miles. It got me through Covid
This whole album is a masterpiece. 10/10 🤘😝
This whole album is a MASTERPIECE! So glad I discovered them years ago🔥🔥🔥
Found this song the other day and had it on repeat ever since man it’s a fucking good one
Melodies from this song are AMAZING
First glance I thought this song was called “kill the acne”
I’m with you there man 😂🤣
The song we all want but don't deserve
Yep this album is amazing so far
This album came out on my birthday it was an amazing day
i love the few emotional tracks they release every album/ep, my personal favorite is Shattered
This album is AMAZING! I've been listening it non-stop since its release, but this song is by far my favorite. I've been listening to it multiple times a day.
The beginning. :D Haha man, great review. Great song!
All my life Currents
Ran into this review. Yeah bro, I feel the same about this one. A great follow up to Monsters. 🤘🏼
I like this video before it even started.
Me too, bro. tears from this and tgi. What a great weekend
Dude this song gave me tears and destroyed me. Dude it I lost so many people these few years. Some I had to let go. It’s beautiful
Haha I'm thinking this may be my favorite song by them. My favourite reaction video, this tune hit me the same way
I had the same reaction as you. Such an incredible piece of art
Love your videos man you love all the same bands I do too. This song is friggen amazing
Amazing album
This whole album is pure gold
The whole album was incredible

That chorus is awesome, cool vid
Brians vocals are crazy on this album

Your reaction to the beginning is the same as mine when I heard it.. like holy fuck... and I was on my way to work at 6 a.m. so it woke me up.
This album is a masterpiece
LATE HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY MAN
why it took me so long to find this band
Love watching your videos buddy I fuck love metalcore
You should react to normandie, if you got their T-shirt already :D
Normandie is incredible. White Flag was a masterpiece
All album 👌 love them.....
Best song of the album
Bro I cried too!
AOTY for me for sure. And I wasn't even a huge Currents fan before this
Am I the only one getting breaking benjamin vines from the cleans in the new album
Best song on the album
🔥
I’m telling you bro. I felt a lot from this song. Great track!
That part in the chorus where on the word "own" he does "ooh-oown" ruined it a little bit for me, just doesnt fit there, but still a great song
To each their own, I like that little run
It's so hard to me to understand the meaning behind the song. The biggest hint is the ending, it almost sounds like he sees himself as just an object to the other person. Only there to help them instead of getting to help and love he deserves. Maybe that's not at all what it's about idk, either way it hits different.
ok bro
This album... how?
This song gave me chills the same way, and I made a piano and vocal cover for it! Love it if you’d check it out!
This is in my top 3 albums of the year, so far invent, animate and August burns red just top this but not by much, amazing album
Єдиноріг
