Photo Mechanic 6-Culling

How to cull or tag images in Photo Mechanic 6. I will also cover both the contact sheet and preview windows. This is probably my favorite feature inside Photo Mechanic 6 because of its speed and simplicity.

So once you have rated all the photos what is the best way to select and delete the trash ? That is my most basic problem previously in culling my photos.

If you rates all the images with lets say red. Turn off red, which will hide the rated images. Select alll and hit cmd- delete on mac. Not sure of exact key on pc. Maybe ctrl-delete.

Ty. Once you have selected the ones you want to keep, how can I cut them and paste them into a folder on my PC?

there's no facial recognition ? I'm trying to have it group pictures by person/place/etc.

Adobe Lightroom has it. This isn’t something most PM users would ever use

Yes it is done automatically.

I find the response time of Photo Mechanic pitifuly slow compared to say Adobe Bridge.

I use both bridge and PM. Photo Mechanic hit the market years ago because Bridge was horribly slow. I use both Bridge and PM. I have never found PM to be slow. However, Bridge is faster than it used to be. As an editorial photographer Bridge caption on ingest and just in general is horrible. Lightroom is even better. PM is not for everyone.
