I've had a pair of Double H boots (DH5400) for over 3 years. I've never ever had a pair of boots of any other brand make it past 9 months working. I will never ever buy another brand. Damn good boots.
I'm a female and I found some double-h boots at a thrift store they look brand new and I love them. They are a mens boot but I don't care what people think or say. They are a size 10 and I wear a 9 in boots I bought insoles for inside the boots 😁 I bought them for 20 dollars and I searched the brand of the boot and they are worth 500 dollars. Boot is awesome.
I've owned a pair of double h boots for 7 years ! They haven't failed me still waterproof and comfortable I've had 200$ pairs of ariats and Justin's take shits on me but these 100$ boots won't die
Got my first pair of double h's last week. They are comfortable except the top of the boot rubs my calfs so bad it actually cut me open. Any advice to soften the material.
@@chrisweld2903 neatsfoot oil, or taller socks. I have calluses now, where the pull tabs rubbed on both sides... Look up "tall cowboy boot socks" on amazon.
@@hbj0123 that's where I'm having the issues at. What did you do to break that part in? I've been wearing taller socks,it helps. I always wear wear ankle socks. Not now.
I’m interested in this boot but however I already have the ice ropers and they’re my regular size for like regular shoes and what not and there pretty lose for my liking. Should I size down to a 12 wide? Or is this pair fairly true to size.
I prefer the double h gel ice work boot mine are the oak, but I have owned the foam gel type center heel and sole but they wear a lil much for me and I am not easy on boots at all and they will be exposed to almost everything I wear 10.5 ee and I have had a few pairs of Justin ranch hand and cow western style work boots some were from rural king and those were primarily made in China and in my opinion they are junk I'll stick with double h gel ice work boot and I have had my current pair almost 8 years and will be used hauling scrap metal and working on cars and trucks not professionally but farm kid work, splitting, stacking, hauling and carrying in firewood for the woodstove we heat with, and how your foot and ankle fit in the shaft of the upper boot and the last or stretch sole fits your foot a certain way so that is why you have to look and usually try several pairs and usually several different sizes because of brands of boots to find the ones that fit and feel right even with Bent or flexed like when you walk or bend..so yeah the saddle shop sales associate and the shoe store associate were quite helpful and the saddle shop guy definitely knows his stuff,it took me about 5-6 years to learn most of that and I have worn cowboy boots almost all my life..
What size did you end up getting compared to your regular size boots? I wear a 10-10.5 in shoes. Ariats they sold me a 9 (lol) Double H I went with a 10D but have not been able to wear them in yet. The women at the local country store dont know a thing about fitting boots so they were NO help. I just put the 10's on and they were snug but felt good. EDIT commented before you show the box lol
I wear a 10.5 in running shoes. I ended up with a size 9D. That's my experience. Not my advice. I had a quarter inch of movement when I walked around in them. It worked for me. Your experience may vary... Hahahahaha
I’ve been considering getting the same boots. I hang drywall, mostly residential jobs. Would you say these will suffice? The soft toe is not a dealbreaker as I never use safety toe boots anyway. I’ve always worn regular construction boots but I want some cowboy boots suitable for my line of work. As far as what I walk on, it’s either concrete or subfloors mostly.
I'd say they would fit your needs. They held up to over a year of HARD use, for me. Not to spoil my next video, but I'll more than likely be buying another pair.
Nice boots! But what brand / type of socks are you wearing? Are they work socks, hiking socks, . . . ? I ask because while I prefer Dan Post Cowboy Certified western boot socks with my pull-on Red Wings, I sometimes wear athletic socks, hiking socks, etc. (made by Wigwam, Fox River, or Smartwool) in a pinch and was wondering what other types / brands I ought to consider. Thanks.
If you google "cowboy boot socks" there's a solid selection of wrangler socks that champion these taller boots. I also shop some COSTCO socks as well. With it being almost winter, I've found these last two examples to work best for me. Summer time, straight up tube socks from Walmart. I like to keep it as simple as possible.
In my experience, while I was looking for a new pair of Double H boots, I found the ICE version to be significantly more narrow. As far as how long they last? I'm sure they last longer. The sole is made up of much better material, and the overall construction seems to be higher quality. However, I couldn't find a pair that fit my feet well enough. Much less, a pair that fit my need. Hope that helps. Thanks for the question.
Good review, thank you. I’m planning to order a pair of Double H boots and want to get the size right the first try to avoid return shipping costs. Do they fit true to size with what you’ve worn in similar work boots like Red Wings or similar brands?
I don't own any Red Wings, but in my personal experience these run a little large. I wear a 10.5 running shoe, and these are a size 9. We went through four sizes before getting the correct fit. My STRONG advice is to try a pair on before purchasing. I know that isn't always possible, but through my research and experience, these are kind of a "custom fit" style boot.
I wear a size 11 running shoe and a 10d or a 9.5ee in cowboy boots and I have the double h ice jase model and they fit big in my opinion. They are size 10 and I think I need a 9.5ee in them
@@romankevin3884 thank you for your feedback. The thing I get asked, and ask most frequently, is what size should I get. It's tough when you have to order them online.
I would advise to go to a boot store or a saddle shop and find something similar to what you are planning to order online and try the size you need and go from there but that is because I can tell you I have had brahma from Walmart, Ariat those were well worn, double h, Justin and a nice used pair of Dan post and the Justin and the Brahma were the same size but felt different, and then I bought two other Justin boots and they didn't fit right and that was the same size, but the double h have all been the same size and fit right and the Dan post was hit and miss the Ariat as long as the USA made boot is the same size as what I wear in the double h gel ice work boot mine is the oak but that's is why I would suggest trying the same brand on first before ordering them online in the same thing or very similar style boot first hopefully that suggestion helps you..
It’s the way they are cut and put together there’s so many different pieces cut to make them stronger. I work in the factory and they are definitely not made from scraps. I will however say we do not make this specific pattern in our factory.
im looking to get myself a pair of boots im thinking about the double H Adrian i wear a size 8 1/2 or a 9 in sneakers do you think i should get a size 8 because my feet are not wide at all and i never had a pair of slip on boots a 8 might just be tight enough for me....thanks for the video you sold me on double H
Go try a few different sizes on. They should be a tight fit. Almost painful. The leather and insole will mold to your foot. Walk around in the boots in the store. Your heel should "slip" just a little bit, like a little less than a quarter of an inch.
oh wow I wear a size 13 my first 2 pair of pull ups I bought was a size 12 and they hurt after wearing them like half a day with this pair I bought a 13 and its prefect
I went into a "Super Shoes" and they had a few styles. I was lucky enough to find a leather shop/ equestrian store (as mentioned in the video). Google "Double H retailer near me" and that's a solid jumping off point.

There's never overkill on comfort
I have double h folklore boots love double h been wearing ‘em for years
Ive got a few pairs of double h ice boots, one pair has been resoled once and reheeled 3 times, i love how they are broken in perfectly
I'm hoping mine can be resoled to a similar style of comfort. Leather soles are great and all, just not for concrete.
Went through 3 pairs of ariats before I bought my ice ropers . Lesson learned , but once cry once
When you do end up going through the soles you could potentially get them resoled by a cobbler depending on their construction though.
Those are some great looking boots. I hope you keep doing updates on all of your boots. Your boot videos are excellent.
I'm glad you enjoy the content. Thank you for the feedback.
