A lot of people critize that they made him slower than his comic counterpart, but that's actually what makes me like this Wally EVEN MORE because that allowed this version of the character to use his powers in a more clever way & allowed a lot of amazing plots to happen Oh, & Specially, HE DOESN'T STOP TO TALK😎
Wally actually is significantly slower in the comics before he takes up the mantle after Barry is gone. Apart of his ascension into the true Flash he is now was breaking those barriers and becoming the closest with the speed force.
Except this is literally the reason he died. For whatever reason, they had to nerf him and remove his character and I hate it. Wally was easily the best character on the show, just as he was in The Justice League. He's just so pure and loveable.
Young Justice really did have the best Wally. He's an overconfident, hyperactive and sometimes annoying teenage superhero, who is still compassionate and learns to mature and grow throughout the season. Coldhearted is the best example of this, and one of the best episodes of season 1 in general. As a result, Wally's always been one of my favourite characters of the show, even with how his story ended (which still makes me wanna cry, I can't get over it). Also I think this goes without saying, but his relationship with Artemis was and still is the best in the show. I love the enemies to lovers trope and their development feels so natural, seeing how they grow to care for each other. Still heartbroken it's gone now.
The Kid Flash story where he needs to deliver a heart, I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s an adaptation of The Flash (1987) #1. It’s the first issue where Wally takes over the Flash name from Barry and also features him delivering a heart on his birthday and running into Vandal Savage along the way.
Barry is Goku. Always gonna do the right thing, yada yada. Boring. Can be great, but boring. Wally has personality and wit but isn’t a baffoon. Is a hero but there’s room for growth. Wally is the goat…eventually lol

Superboy was actually my favorite member of The Team. I really liked his journey from a 6' tall ball of anger and angst to a person content with himself, his life, his existence, who effortlessly emulates Superman in a way unique to him.

I’ve been recently getting into DC as before I was never to into hero franchises as I felt they were over hyped but now I’m faced with the over loading content that is DC so this video helped me greatly under stand several characters and things I only knew briefly such as Roy being cloned as was Superman. I also for some reason knew about the training episode and some about the therapy episode as I adore the different robins. I know most things exist within their own universes so this info won’t help me in most media it was still awesome to see you go through and I now adore Wally even more. Amazing video seriously was super nice, I loved how you broke up the sections by episode and then showed why they were important to Wally as a character. Really hope you do more dc things, especially for this show in particular.
I'm so glad you're covering this show.I was in the same mindset.Kid flash was my favorite character as well and I loved the romance and relationship between Arte.Mis and him keep making these videos. Are very good😊
Yes I love young justice Wally honestly my preferred version when he is kid flash bruh peak it’s like when he left the show a bunch of stuff left with him
I could never join the fandom after being so bummed out by S2, and what happened to Wally felt so unfair after he was pretty much reduced to a guest star/supporting role and then they pull THIS.
Coldhearted is by far my favourite episode in any DC show.. except Batman: The Brave and The Bold. It’s just so amazing to me, we don’t focus too much on the action, it’s just Wally being a good person, helping a little girl in need.
Wally in this and JLU fits a similar role to Nightcrawler in X-men. He’s the soul and heart of any team he’s on, the one who keeps things lighthearted and everyone on the right path. It’s a very important, if underrated, role in any team for heroes. They see the dark sides of the world and have to deal with it every day, it can be hard to stay optimistic when they’re dealing with this stuff. That’s why in JLU it’s Wally’s death that sends the team down the dark path without the beacon of optimism. A similar thing happens with Kurt when he dies in comics, the X-men don’t fall as far but are seriously down in the dumps, more so than most other teammates deaths.
Great video! it really showed what we all love about Wally! I absolutely loved that Young Justice really showed how smart Wally was. and it wasn't just a one off, there were many episodes of him saying or doing something that showed how he smart he was. He was able to tell Robin and Artemis how to make an EMP when the reds attacked from memory using what was just laying round the cave! how cool was that?! I don't think I will never forgive YJ for is not bring him back. We were lucky to get a renew after it was cancelled the first time, and they did nothing, and with the time skip it we didn't get to see the team grieve, I would've loved to see that. If they were to get renewed after Phantoms and still didn't bring Wally back (especially after that MAJOR Easter egg with them name dropping sanctuary) I don't know if I would be able to keep watching it. Wally West is my favorite superhero.
Maybe it is because I grew up during Justice League and Justice League Unlimited but I always preferred Wally as the main flash. Might be the nostalgia but no live action role has been able to do the role as perfect as Justice League Unlimited and Young Justice.
About Wally intelligence. Well I could be a jokester but have diploma in Chemistry. I'm a jokester, I'm not stuoid. I have knowledge in one specific thing, that is sometimes usefull.
If anyone sees this, I am piss’ed that we didn’t get the season where he becomes the flash he was meant to be because in the comics he gets trapped in the speed force just like what happened in the show because the show got canceled. He’s basically dead, but he supposed to get out of that and then become the fastest flash.
Young Justice Wally and current Flash comics make me desperately want a Wally West led Flash (or Flash Family) animated TV series with this level of character writing. Ever since Justice League Unlimited, Wally has always been one of my favorite heroes. Someone who does everything to help others because he genuinely loves it, and yet knows how to stay grounded with his heart on full display. I was really frustrated when the New 52 deleted him and rebirth kept playing him for a fiddle, but recently he's really found his groove again as the main Flash and the Flash Family as a whole is stronger with him at its forefront. His kids are amazing and a lot of fun to explore. He has a better dynamic with Wallace (black Wally who initially replaced him) than Barry did. Bart, Max, Jay, and now Judy (Jay's granddaughter who kinda just poofed into existence) are also wonderful. I'd really just love a Wally West focal point Flash animated TV series that can capture this level of character writing and bring his current comic status to wider audiences. I've always hated how right when comic book heroes (outside of the usual suspects) were getting mainstream appeal, Wally got the shaft (both in comics and in adaptions), despite having been THE Flash for over 20 years and so much Flash lore having been developed during his era.
I was obcessed with Yj as a kid and had the biggest crush on Wally lmao. And I was pleasantly surprised when u rewatched it on Netflix and saw that it was actually really well written. They don’t make kids shows like this anymore.
YOUNG JUSTICE TO JUSTICE LEAGUE AND JUSTICE LEAGUE UNLIMITED PIPELINE!!!! THOSE SHOWS WERE MY CHILDHOOD SEASON ONE YOUNG JUSTICE WAS MY FAVORITE CARTOON EVER
I though you were going to talk about Wally West in the second and maybe 3rd season. I love young justice, Wally West and Superboy are my favorite supes. They both matured a lot and its refreshing to see character growth in a kids show. Wally West retired from the superhero live but every time the team needed him he was there. In fact one of my favorite moments is when mount justice was destroyed and Wally was pissed. Nightwing thought it was because of the souvenir but he in turned said it was afraid for Artemis. Like his core values didnt change. He loved the supe life but hated and suffered when his loved ones were in danger. In fact he sacrificed his life to save them all. Kinda sucked because he was just such a great character. I would love to see his return but at the same time his sacrifice culminated in all the right details that I wouldnt mind him staying dead. Like he died with a character growth so amazing that few characters in the show could ever have. It hurt to see him in the nightwing vision and the artemis vision. Young Justice is just really great and i think it could be a great show for now mature audiences but I don’t think they will do it.
I loved this show and wally He was in my top three, Dick Gray, Roy and him being third. Currently considering a rewatch possibly before or after i finish my Gotham Rewatch
Young Justice is an amazing show, it could've done with less of that wolf and sphere-car, but those were probably there for the failing toy sales. Still, it's gotta be the most thought-out superhero anything, with consistent characters thinking through their actions, it's also gotta be the only time I've seen a group use a telepathic channel for their constant communication.
While I do prefer justice league unlimited Wally to young justice Wally he is a very close second and he probably would be first if not for the Christmas episode
Don't feel like you need to hold back if you want to talk about something. Sure others might talk about it and have similar opinions but the exact same opinion is rare and it's content like this that keeps fandoms alive. I love Young Justice, it's my favourite show of all time despite it's flaws and I don't know of many channels that o video essays on the show like this so I am certainly interested in seeing more
Since you’re on the topic of definitive versions of characters outside comics, I wonder if there’s any iterations of the maximoff twins that would warrant a video
That’s a great idea, let me think on that because there aren’t many versions I’d consider great outside comics but anything is better than Ultimates twins 🤢
I dislike this video because I found it right when I finished my food:on a serious note I love what you done with this and all of your video’s keep it up man❤
The fact the best Wally West in adaptation, is one who never got to become the Flash… just reignites my fresh anger at DC Comics’ treatment of him. That said, I respect that Young Justice seems to have committed to his death as it belies the gravity of his character; it’s not Greg Weisman and Co. who continually underserve and later mistreat him. And in the context of the series, as a fundamentally good-hearted young man who just wanted to help people… he’s the inspiration for his friends to keep fighting the good fight.
4 questions 1. How much did the team have every right to get angry at Aqua Lad for keeping a secret on who the mole was ? 2. How did you feel that this series made Black Canary into a therapist ? 3. How would you feel if Young Justice’s iteration of the Justice League had their own spin off series ? 4. 42:07/42:08 which episode are you referring to that is a fan favorite in the series ?
1. Because to the team they were all equals and a united front so Aqua lad keeping secrets with Batman felt like a betrayal considering they formed the team due to frustrations of being lied to by their mentors 2. I actually really liked the idea 3. I would watch it definitely but it would feel unnecessary 4. Coldhearted S1 EP20
I've always loved Wally and his relationship with Artemis ever since I watched the show as it aired. It just makes me so upset that they're probably never gonna bring him back for a prime opportunity to do the only depiction of the New 52 stroy of him being stuck in the speedforce, all because A, the show probably isn't being continued after the dog crap seasons that were made way later, and B, it would admittedly make his sacrifice a bit meaningless. Season 2-4 wally will be covered just not yet
An Hour of glazing on Wally west…
Deserved.
Definitely one of the best video essays I've seen in a while amazing work! Keep it up!
I think he would be a better Wally, IF THEY JUST BROUGHT HIM BACKKKK PLEASEEE!!! I NEED HIM BACK
I’ve been recently getting into DC as before I was never to into hero franchises as I felt they were over hyped but now I’m faced with the over loading content that is DC so this video helped me greatly under stand several characters and things I only knew briefly such as Roy being cloned as was Superman. Really hope you do more dc things, especially for this show in particular.
need more young justice content!
I'm so glad you're covering this show.I was in the same mindset.Kid flash was my favorite character as well and I loved the romance and relationship between Arte.Mis and him keep making these videos. Are very good😊
Just when I've forgotten about the heartbreak of Wally and Artemis, YT recommends this. 💔💔💔😭😭😭
Barry Allen will always be my #1 Flash, but Wally is the GOAT of the Flash family. Great video
I didn't watch or read any DC or comics when I was growing up. So this is all new to me. Love the Content man. Longer vids rule.
I’m glad to see a YJ video still made. I am one of those who still want Wally West to somehow come back in a season 5 😅
Yes I love young justice Wally honestly my preferred version when he is kid flash bruh peak it’s like when he left the show a bunch of stuff left with him
Nice retrospective on Wally. Can't wait to see more in this series, keep at it!
Great way to start my morning
I wish each season had a couple of episodes of the characters being people
dawg ur content is so underrated🙏🏾 love the longer vids, keep em coming
Oh, i needed some good videos on YJ. Ty and i hope you do more(bonus points for Red Arrow/Arsenal)
Dude ur pumping out videos I wanna watch so fast, I gotta catch up, keep up the work mane love this stuff!
Wally got so hoed in the second season.
Good morning bro I love your videos
I listen to your videos while I’m at work
Young justice is my favorite show, but man did it go down hill after season 2.
Not really. There's a ton of cool character arcs in 3 and 4.
Great video man. love this show you are doing it… justice
great video so far man!!! hope you make some more young justice videos in the future.
I need more yj content and Wally west content this was a great vid
That was so wonderful!
I hope to see more of these videos for other young justice characters 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
I love yo videos man I always make it to the end please keep goin
I grew up on young justice, the first season and some of the second are just absolute peak. Season one is the greatest superhero cartoon ever imo
Video is about to be a banger, I already know
Morning buddy hope you’re doing good man. I really love your videos dude.
You bought the toys?! Impossible! They literally said they cancelled the series because no one was buying toys.
I got them from McDonald’s, so never directly bought them
I was obcessed with Yj as a kid and had the biggest crush on Wally lmao.
31:05 - That's Brent "Lt. Data" Spiner voicing the Joker. I didn't hate it... Yeah, that's not really glowing praise.
Wally is amazing.
While I do prefer justice league unlimited Wally to young justice Wally he is a very close second and he probably would be first if not for the Christmas episode
I love the show, but I’m taking a break unless they bring Wally back.
1:03:50 Ssshhh stop talking, you're doing great. Dont ruin this.
😂😂😂
great vid man
i hope you make more videos on young justice
Actually do any of them next. I love this show
Would love to see another video on this show, maybe covering superboy or even better red arrows character
Good news, I’ll be covering this show at least once a month going forward.
the skyrim music is fuckin killing me
Don't feel like you need to hold back if you want to talk about something. Sure others might talk about it and have similar opinions but the exact same opinion is rare and it's content like this that keeps fandoms alive. I love Young Justice, it's my favourite show of all time despite it's flaws and I don't know of many channels that o video essays on the show like this so I am certainly interested in seeing more
I'd love to see a breakdown of Static Shock. The tv show, not the character from Young Justice.
Ask and you shall receive: What Made Static Shock So Great?

The 1st thing I think of when wally come up is his companion. To people and his baddies roster.
Since you’re on the topic of definitive versions of characters outside comics, I wonder if there’s any iterations of the maximoff twins that would warrant a video
That’s a great idea, let me think on that because there aren’t many versions I’d consider great outside comics but anything is better than Ultimates twins 🤢
maybe you could do a video on how outside media fumbled quicksilver so many times?
I would like to know what IDIOT authorized Wally's death
It’s fine if he died, it’s them not bringing him back more powerful then ever is the idiotic decision
I dislike this video because I found it right when I finished my food:on a serious note I love what you done with this and all of your video’s keep it up man❤
This video made me so mad at my skyrim thinking why the music was louder than my video
i love wally west flash in this show he was fantastic in my opinion.
I loved that happy meal toy bro🥲
YOUNG JUSTICE MY BELOVED ENDGAME WAS DEVASTATING MY POOR BOY
Watching this video just makes me want to play Skyrim
Why the Skyrim music I’ve already played to much!
Could you PLEASE do Miss Martian next? I love her!
So he's nothing but a prop to serve other characters?
Am I the only one who thinks it's trippy as fuk to hear Skyrim music in the back ground.
Instant watch
Skyrim music go hard yeet
hope young justice gets renewed again and he comes back somehow
4 questions
1. Because to the team they were all equals and a united front so Aqua lad keeping secrets with Batman felt like a betrayal considering they formed the team due to frustrations of being lied to by their mentors
2. I actually really liked the idea
3. I would watch it definitely but it would feel unnecessary
4. Coldhearted S1 EP20
You should do a video about Young Justice's Robin
I've always loved Wally and his relationship with Artemis ever since I watched the show as it aired. It just makes me so upset that they're probably never gonna bring him back for a prime opportunity to do the only depiction of the New 52 stroy of him being stuck in the speedforce, all because A, the show probably isn't being continued after the dog crap seasons that were made way later, and B, it would admittedly make his sacrifice a bit meaningless.
Either way, Flash is always going to be my #1 Favorite DC super hero, and this version of Wally is the first one I think of everything without fail
And they still ain’t bring my nigga back to this day that shit got me tight
As much as I like his Young Justice character, JLU Wally is better and actually gets to be Flash
My favorite flash is the Wally west justice league and justice league unlimited
