    Hey, I wanted to mention here just in case it trips anyone else up but foundation chains aren't used in this pattern! I use foundation double crochets because it makes the leg warmer more stretchy at the top (and thus more comfortable to wear imo). Foundation double crochets (FDC) basically replace your foundation chains & 1 row of double crochets. I teach you how to do that in the video + how to seam the top of it and how to join it in the round

    • @lilym-4126
      @lilym-4126 Рік тому +12

      Okay so that means I can replace this foundation double crochet by one row of single crochet then one row of double crochet? Cuz I really don't understand how I'm supposed to do these FDC 😭

    hi! i finally finished these yesterday and they turned out perfect hehe. although i think there is a mistake in the written pattern (23:00 time stamp in the vid) under the section for row 1. it says (after first increase) to "double crochet 2" when u need to dc up until the last stich and then, as written, increase again. im sure it's just a typo cuz you explain it correctly in the video, but i wanted to point that out if someone were to skip directly to the end. i love your channel. keep up the great work

    • @byredbean
      @byredbean  Рік тому +1

      yeah! you'd turn over after slst to close the round c: this is because if you don't turn over, it ends up creating a diagonal seam along the leg warmer, which I feel like doesn't look that great :') so turning over after every round will prevent that from happening!

I don't know how to finish the first row, and it keeps turning into a circle-like shape. Do you have any raw clips that aren't cut or help me know which stich I should go into? yeah this tutorial was one of the first ones I ever made so it's definitely not the best one out there :') what you can do if you're not understanding the foundation double crochets is to foundation chain (basically, "chaining"), then join them into the round before making a round of double crochets (you can find tutorials on how to do that on yt c:). you can also dm me on ig @by.redbean with photos as it makes it easier for me to figure out what might be wrong with your work

      hey there, I'm so happy you like my content! tbh, I'm not even sure if I'm the best person to go to with this question XD especially since I don't really know what works best for a channel, etc. I guess the only kind of advice I can give is that you should just post what you enjoy (because it'll make the video filming & editing process easier). You also don't need expensive equipment! I film on my iPhone & edit on a free program (Davinci Resolve). But yeah! Just make what you like & I hope the algorithm favors you

      @ worsted weight yarn may be called Aran weight yarn or size 4 yarn too! Maybe you can find labels with that on there c: I typically buy yarn from wool warehouse which is based in the uk & I believe they just call it Aran weight! Here, 4-ply means fingering weight which is much too small. You would need to double pull if that’s the yarn you end up using 💖
