That's what it feels like the first time you hear one of the greatest voices of all time.
And every time you hear it again after that...
You're 100 % right
My favorite tune from Patsy Cline is "I Fall to Pieces". Her voice just brings tears to my eyes! Absolute vocal perfection!
TOTALLY AGREE! Patsy was a regular in our house when I was growing up. In Ireland we like ALL music but Patsy was a FAVOURITE of many a household here!
That's my favorite too.

Patsy Cline has one of the best country voices around. Patsy had so many great hits such as "She's Got You", "When I Get Through With You", "Sweet Dreams", "So Wrong", "Leavin' on Your Mind", "Walkin' After Midnight", "I Fall To Pieces" "San Antonio Rose", "Blue Moon Of Kentucky", "Half As Much", "He Called Me Baby", "Faded Love", "Imagine That". She was only 31 when she died in a plane crash in 1963. In 1985 Jessica Lange starred in the movie about Patsy's life called "Sweet Dreams".
She's Got You is awesome but like all these great songs,, too short!! ☮️
Patsy is the GOAT of country music.
Rest in Paradise Patsy! "She's Got You" "I Fall to Pieces" "Walking After Midnight" "Sweet Dreams" just for starters!!!! Patsy and Loretta Lynn were the best of friends!
An awesome combination, Patsy's voice and Willie's lyrics.
Patsy Cline! No one can beat her!!!
Sixty plus years later, and she still gives me goosebumps. ❤
Those tasty, delicate piano fills were courtesy of the legend, Floyd Cramer, who set the gold standard for all pop/country ballad piano accompanists for generations to follow.
I had two of Floyd Cramers albums. I adore the piano!
"I fall to pieces", "Sweet Dreams" and "Shes Got You" are fabulous too
Oh and "Wayward Wind" is SUBLIME
One of the finest vocalists to ever perform country and popular music.
Your reaction was everything I expected. She has, not just one of the best voices in country music, but one of the best voices ever. It’s unfortunate we lost her so early.
“Sweet Dreams” by Patsy has one of the best openings of all time-a must listen
At the recording of this video, Patsy had just come out of a bad auto accident. That was a scar between her brows. She'd later learn how to cover it with makeup.
RIP, Patsy. You spoiled us.
She sure did.
And tragically, she died in a plane crash when she was 30. So sad, and what a loss.
One of the all time legendary performances. She is one of the best female vocalists ever.
She was a one of a kind. Died at the young age of 30.
Patsy is the definitive artist for love songs. You need to do her singing sweet dreams.
She had such a beautiful voice. And died much too soon.
Great reaction! For clarity, Patsy was in a head on car crash not long before this was filmed, and her headband was to cover the still visible scars she suffered to her face. Tough Lady, she lived the life she sang about.
Also fractured ribs...
That recording was made 3 days after she was released from the h
One singer, simple song, simple melody, simple backing........ simply brilliant.
👍👍Awesomely awesome performance🤗. Patsy had a fabulous voice and was taken from us way to soon. 🖖❤
Jessica Lange portrayed Patsy in the biopic "Sweet Dreams" from 1985 - A MUST-SEE!!!
I like Jessica a lot. But Beverly D’Angelo did it so much better in Coal Miner’s Daughter that I was disappointed with the choice of Jessica.
It was fun to watch your face when you heard that very first line she sang. That's everyone's reaction to Patsy's talent when they first hear her.
I truly wish I could go back and hear this song for the very first time.
Smooth as silk. Always on my playlist.
Lee Ann Rimes sang this song on a Patsy Cline tribute show.
And there ya go … Miss Patsy Cline❤
Love Patsy Cline. So great you got to hear one of her biggest hits. Tragic plane crash took her life
The greatest female vocalist of all time. Patsy is said to have had perfect pitch. This is a video of her performing the hit live but the recording is the studio version. Story goes… Patsy was in a head-on collision and suffered head injuries and broken ribs, etc. She was in the process of recording sessions and went in to record this song, of which she was not a fan. She was unable to hit some of the notes in the song so they stopped the session and told her to rest a couple more weeks and come back. This version you hear is the first and only take she needed to hit it out of the park. Absolute Diva! Songs that are a must: I Fall to Pieces, Leavin’ on Your Mind, Sweet Dreams, Faded Love (make sure to listen for the breath in the last few seconds of the song).
Her singing evokes emotions and memories making the moment stop and you just hear her.
So very talented. RIP Patsy...
I love Patsy Cline. So many wonderful songs, Walking After Midnight, She’s Got You. So many. ❤
I absolutely LOVE Patsy Cline!! She was so popular when I was very young!!! What a voice 💕 Gone too soon!! 💔
This song evokes so many emotions, even to this day. The arrangement is perfection, and combined with her voice, this really is one for the ages.
I had never heard of Patsy when she died (and I was 11) but realised in later years that she was a classic in a genre I knew little about (ditto cared). Seeing this video made me realise why I had heard of someone so far outside my musical orbit. CLASSIC! 🙂
Patsy was stellar. A beautiful woman, she had just survived a horrific car crash, and her face is still healing, and her eyes still swollen in this video.
She was fabulous. Marvellous vocal tone.
I remember playing this song over and over for at least an hour when I was about thirteen. I loved Patsy then and I love her still today.
She’s amazing and the production on this was top notch. The back up singers are so good you forget they’re singing too. No that’s Patsy again! 😊
Having the Jordaneires sing backup showed just what the King, Elvis thought of her, by allowing his backup singers to record that gem with her. I think that’s mentioned in the movie, too.
You really had no chance but to luv her.
Back in babies arms, I’ve got the little things are great listens. Enjoy
SalvoG your facial expressions are everything. Keep reacting to all the great hits.
Strong and PURE Voice
Pasty Cline sang truly from the heart. She did things her way not what others wanted in the music industry.
What a beautiful voice. One of the best singers. Willie Nelson owes me a box of Kleenex!
Patsy Cline was a very talented singer. If I play this on a digital jukebox you would be shocked how much people love her.
After all these yrs, I still sing that song on occasion while going about my day. It came out around the time I was born. ❤ She went through A LOT before a plane crash ended her life.
First time I heard this I was 12, it was at a diner and someone played it at a counter jukebox. Loved it ever since.
🇬🇧
Played this at my mum's funeral, because it was mums favourite song/singer. Other songs by Patsy I like are: "I Fall To Pieces" & "Walking After Midnight"❤🎼
Patsy Cline was pretty much the crooner of country music singers. Her vocal control and rich voice were just perfect for those smooth, buttery lines.
When patsy came to Hagerstown MD on amateur night My Mom played back up for her. Mom even has some singed music from her
“Singed”? You mean “sung” or “burnt”?
"Crazy" and "So Wrong" are two of my favorite Patsy recordings. She was a rare talent, and was taken far too soon. Enjoyed your reaction - love seeing someone experience that voice for the first time!
You just instantly fall so deep in love! You can not help it. That’s Patsy!
“Walking After Midnight”
I *love* watching people's faces the first time they hear Patsy Cline's voice. You did not disappoint. LOL Fun fact - though it was synced well to the original recording, the video here was from a later, live performance. The original was recorded just a few weeks after a horrific car crash that had sent her through the windshield, cut up her face, and cracked several of her ribs. She sang this stunningly beautiful vocal - in one take - despite bandages and pain. You'll note the headband she wore during her video performance (months later) to hide some of the scars on her forehead, though her eyes and eyebrows were still quite swollen.
She performed this song after being in a car accident the band on her head covered one of the injuries and she sang this good with 2 cracked ribs .
I love Patsy and this song! MORE!
It still blow my mind that Willie has been writing and recording great songs for over 65 years. And still at it. I grew up with her version, but after hearing Willie's original it's his voive in my head.
Classic! 🎶♥️✌️
It's an amazing song. Willie as a song writer and Patsy as the singer...what a combo.
Really lovely and “Home Free” acapella group does a superb cover of this song also.
Pure, unadulterated talent is Miss Patsy Cline. That song is over 60 years old. Glad to see you experience it new. 60 years ago...today...she makes you stop....listen...listen closer...smile...enjoy...and feel.
'Worry, why do I let myself worry...'
Goosebumps and tears.
This was one of my mom's favorites
💪✌️
You Belong to Me (rarely anyone mentors this one but is my ultimate favourite of hers) & I Fall to Pueces are great...
The most powerful female voice in music. More please…you won’t regret it.
During the recording of this song, Patsy was singing with broken ribs from a car accident. I can't even imagine what pain she was in. Great reaction.
Classic ❤️
One of the greatest voices ever.
Love her to bits . One beautiful singer , what a voice ❤❤
The BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
I’m not even a country music fan but I absolutely love Patsy. She had a voice that transcends musical genre
Got to do "I Fall to Pieces" next. The surprise this time will be more vocal slides.
Thought you'd like it. Had several songs by Patsy but this is my favorite.
Pure is the word for Patsy. No choreography, no swinging from the rafters, no revealing outfits, NO autotune, ni gimmicks. Just PURE TALENT!
♥♥♥ chills always
She had 3 other hits that crossed over to pop and made the Top 40. "Walkin' After Midnight", "I Fall To Pieces", and "She's Got You". All are awesome!
Such a beautiful voice to a beautiful song
Her voice was powerful but not strident. You can feel the power sitting back and purring. So many Patsy Cline great releases - make your ears and heart happy by listening to a few of them.
Crazy - Willie's writing was great, but the performance by Patsy was stellar. And the instrumental accompaniment was kept as literal background - just there to support, not dominate. Patsy's is THE version, Home Free did a cover of it (in the same key) a few years ago that Patsy's daughter praised.
Simply one of the greatest voices of any genre in history. I wonder what she would sound like with today’s hi tech recording equipment?
one of the best to ever do it - legendary
I remember where I was, when it was, and who I was with the first time I heard this song. I was mesmerized by her voice. Still am.
Simple, universal lyrics and a world class voice.
Numerous covers have been done. Linda Ronstadt and Willie himself come to mind.
There is a cover by kd lang.
Patsy Cline is a rabbit hole you need to go down. You will never regret it!!!!!!
Just imagine how MANY people have sat broken hearted and drinking in bars and played this. Eas to see how it's the most played song ever on jukeboxes.
Man that’s just the tip of the iceberg on what Patsy Cline can sing
Hang on, I gotta crack a beer for this. Going to need it to shed a few tears into.
Now ya gotta hear SWEET DREAMS. Last song she sang before the plain crash. RIP Patsy, miss your talent!
I'm not a big country fan,but I love Patsy. And Alan Jackson.
"I Fall To Pieces," is great one. Patsy is another talent that left us far too soon.
A Willie Nelson song and Patsy Cline's voice... those jukeboxes never stood a chance
k d Lang’s band when she first started out was named The Reclines… because she felt Patsy Cline has come back thru her..
Great reaction! Gotta love Patsy!
My mom loved this song. I miss her so. 😢
In the old days, Patsy would have fit the label of Torch Singer. They sang in supper clubs and lounges and were mournful and a mellow tune, soothing but with a tale to tell. I adore Patsy Cline.
I'm so glad you finally checked her out! Now you've got to hear "I Fall to Pieces" and "Sweet Dreams" (especially the latter, although ALL of her songs are great)!
An absolute vocal goddess! 🤩😍
I don't believe your just getting to Patsy now wow one of the most amazing voice's ever, that song came out the yr i was born 💕
Well…it’s kind of a classic rock channel here, so…….not allot of country.
It’s Alllll good! I had Patsy on repeat back in the 90’s. Patsy, Garth, Clint, Alan,Dwight, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band 7:21 and a sprinkle of Wilson Phillips. My husband calls it my Achy Breaky Days!
I love how it brings me back in time..
This song was my introduction to Patsy Cline many years ago. I am not a fan of country music, but her voice is so amazing. She has many more fabulous songs, too. My favorite cover is from Hone Free. Theirs is very faithful to the original.
She was spectacular. Glad you enjoyed it.
This song was written by Willie Nelson and was one of Patsy's first cross over hits.
Has a lovely voice. Been used in several movies. Good one!
