I was in the centre third row here; had already been to Dublin, Birmingham and 2 nights in Liverpool, plus 3 nights in Paris in March. A great year was 1979! 😊
I was unlucky enough to be too young to see them play live. Roger was one of the reasons I became a drummer. The first year I turned pro, I was playing in the French ski resort of Meribel, and who happened to be in the audience watching my band - the MAN Roger himself. Of course I was too shy and stupid to go up and introduce myself. I've been kicking myself ever since!!
THIS IS BLOODY AWESOME.......easily the best live performance by Queen I have ever seen, and I've seen these cats live more than a few times. I considered it nothing less than an INSULT when Queen toured a couple of years ago with Raul Rodgers singing. Paul freaking Rodgers?! Not even CLOSE. WHAT were those yogurtheads thinking when they made THAT call? Anyway- I love Love LOVE the double echo on Freddie's vocals, which NEVER sounded better, IMHO.
I got into Queen way after Mercury was gone, and just this year I picked up the Live Killers 2 disc LP. Listened to it and got really bummed that I will never see them live :( Amazing showmen.
I love that at 6:16 Fredduie does the same thing with his mic stand at exactly the same time as he did at Montreal 2 years later which then became the fromt cover of the Montreal concert CD and DVD. RIP Freddie (Legend)
Remember getting live killers for one of my Christmas presents when it first came out as a kid, that thing was never off the turn-table! Freddie's stage presence / performance will never in my life time be bettered. They blew everyone else away at Live Aid. Others bands are good but IMO on a performance level not in the same league and I have seen a lot.
The best version of the song is from Newcastle either Night. Obviously 1979. This is an excellent performance, I rank this in the top 5 of the song of all time.
TheQueenFan9 Hmm not ok with that because it's clearly a live song and studio version is a little bit slow and "cold". Best version for me is on Live Killers.
Yes they could throw out a good pop song once in a while but at there best they were a killer hard rock/quasi-metal band! And one of the best ever! Let this remind you!
i saw this first on the tv when i was a kid , watched it dozens of times on vhs , still utterly amazing the band at the height of it's powers imo awesome
I was at that show and they're all wearing what I remember them in. This gig was at the end of the world tour that produced Live Killers, so it's not surprising if this version sounds like that.
GOD, how I miss this man's voice and how the band supported it .... especially live. WHAT FREAKING STAGE PRESENCE!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE the double echo, too!!! Oh....by the way: PAVE STILETTO IS NOT A ROCKER AND WOULDN'T KNOW A GREAT PERFORMANCE IF IT CAME UP AND HEAD BUTTED HIM/HER/IT. Sorry, mate. Just calling the game as it's being played. DEAL WITH IT.
What a funcking damn good Freddie performance !!! Awesome power-sexy man !!! My favorite Queen's perioid !
All the love for this spectacular man! 💖♾🔥💥💎💋💋💋
Fantastic job on "Now I'm Here" by Queen. Freddie is really rockin his stuff and the crowd is amazing! Love this version!

Will E. Fisturgash 78 was one of his worst, cracking and struggling. I'd say 1979[crazy tour]-1982[European hot space tour]
The Best Performance is Newcastle 12/4/79

Look at the fire in Freddie's eyes! HOT DAMN!
I love how Brian adds the extra guitar technique, A prequel to the NWOBHM \m/
I got into Queen way after Mercury was gone, and just this year I picked up the Live Killers 2 disc LP. Listened to it and got really bummed that I will never see them live :( Amazing showmen.
Freddie is beautiful and amazing 💘 💘💕
I love that at 6:16 Fredduie does the same thing with his mic stand at exactly the same time as he did at Montreal 2 years later which then became the fromt cover of the Montreal concert CD and DVD. RIP Freddie (Legend)

Saw Queen in 1980. Memorial Coliseum Portland Oregon. Tight f........g band and they kicked complete ass. This was a great album for a great cause.✌

First 'big' band I saw live was Queen on the 'Crazy' tour in 79 at Newcastle City Hall.

Nobody ever considered Queen as a hard rock band. It's understandable - those people didn't see them live.
