By 1971, with all four musicians together, Freddie now changed the bands name to Queen. By 1973, when they still were fighting to "break out" and become famous-they were all almost ready to quit. They weren't making any $$, and were still struggling, with managers and promo guys ripping them off. But Freddie was more aggressive than ever, and started writing song after song, until finally Seven Seas of Rhye, hit the UK charts. Queen was becoming a household name. Deacon, was the last of 4 bass players that had come and gone, and after that- everyone was set in place. Freddie on vocals /piano, Brian May on lead guitar, and Roger Meddows Taylor on drums. I'd say thats a reason to Smile. #TOTP

I was blessed to see them in Chicago in 1982(thanks, Dad RIP)
Any other concert I've seen has paled by comparison. The second Freddie took the stage, nothing else in the world seemed to matter. With most bands, there wasn't that one member who just stood out. Nobody owned the stage the way Mercury did. He connected with us, as if each of us were the only person there.

I have this and the EXCEPTIONAL Houston concert.... But I'm also prepared to buy a professionally mastered version of each. These concerts shouldn't be allowed to slip through the cracks. They are simply too amazing, and the time is NOW. The movie was number one, still second place right now. They have two CDs in the top 20, and another somewhere around number 45. Bohemian Rhapsody just entered the charts at 23... Billboard has them as the most popular artist right now.

I can't even begin to describe what it was like having lived through the late sixties, the seventies, and eighties too. my first concert was Jim Morrison and the doors, and i went to concerts frequently. I cannot think of any artist that i haven't seen live, and though seeing Jimmy Page live many times was hypnotizing, i'll not steal Freddie's thunder and just say that Queen was phenomenal. In hindsight, he was definitely a force like no other. I know many front men who would perform under the influence, or with a voice fatigued, but Freddie was always perfection. If you get that time machine...take the leap! I sure think it was worth all the great times and wonderful memories...

Queen II also had some heavy tracks, and it was more progressive/fantasy oriented.
The one album they made that I think sums up their versatility almost more than a night at the Opera is sheer heart attack. it gives you a sign of things to come and still holds on to their heavy rockside with songs like Brighton rock and stone cold crazy

@@billbillbillbill9457 yeah but they never stopped doing some heavy or hard rock songs i mean even Hot Space has Put Out The Fire or The Miracle has Was It All Worth It, of course with the heavy influence of Brian May. Personally i love all Queen but i love even more their early stuff!

You were born in the era you were born in. Yes, you like Queen, but you're not the only one: Queen has over One-BIllion fans worldwide. Yeah, it's sad I didn't get to see them. But to say, "I was born in the wrong era," is just ridiculous. Try surviving in the '70s without technology.

Freddie makes this ballad more slick. He sang this song better than the Staffel Team. The ballad and the feel of a typical Queen orchestra were felt in this song. The touch of Brian's distinctive rock guitar melody was felt in the solos, like the sound of a fast moving train after finding momentum. Freddie makes it look like this song is his creation and his. There is no denying that Freddie is one of the most talented singers of the 20th century.

I've been reading all kinds of most under rated Queen songs and GOAT's for the last couple of hours and to me after seeing the crazy number of views their songs are getting up to this has to be their most under rated song ever and I always loved the change of tympo its absolutely sick

Yesterday my life was in ruin
Now today I know what I'm doing
Gotta feeling I should be doing all right
    Doing all right
Where will I be this time tomorrow
Jump in joy or sinking in sorrow
Anyway I should be doing all right
    Doing all right
Should be waiting for the sun
Looking round to find the words to say
Should be waiting for the skies to clear
There a time in all the world
Should be waiting for the sun
And anyway I've got hide away
    Ah ah ah ah
Yesterday my life was in ruin
Now today God knows what I'm doing
Anyway I should be doing all right
    Doing all right
    Doing all right
