The best hope for Filipinos here is to become educated, achieve a good character, and discern truth. For always, power hungry elitist and ignorant masses are the greatest factor for the Philippines to be doomed. Politicians and dictators love taking advantage of the vulnerable and minority.
As you go on your life, you can then spot disagreeable things around you. From the notion of "following rules" to "rights and privileges", a broader understanding in the spectrum of life is indeed important. A very valuable necessity for not just Filipinos but to everyone.

Im not gonna counter that marcos camp really did very well in rebuilding their image among the masses- it was so well planned and they were very patient, probably a decade or two of preparation. They’re dangerous but there’s something i would commend about them, theyre way smarter than the previous political camp. But i believe that is 50% of the cause. The other 50% is mostly on an ongoing but unrecognized people’s revolt against LP. Two elections straight with the highest voter turnouts and landslide wins against any LP representative, it says something and marcs simply took advantage at the ripest time and to take sarah as the best image for that revolt. Reality is LP became too overconfident and this is their undoing- media, education-they had the tools to maintain a narrative but it was not enough to fool an ordinary filipino’s human condition. Marcoses are the same as any oligarch, whats important is that we always show the sentiment of the majority whoever sits there, whether that be for the better or worse. If the marcoses are in it for the long game like lp or his father, he better do well and im holding on to this social pressure to guide him rather than his innate “morals” most people tend to believe in

I've noticed from this comment section that when people bring up criticisms of the Marcos dictatorship and its impact on society, some pro-Marcos individuals tend to respond defensively. Rather than engaging with the substance of the criticisms or facts presented, they often resort to ad hominem attacks or deflect the conversation by bringing up other political figures like Leni Robredo.
To me, this behavior is indicative of a deeper issue with social media discourse - a focus on winning arguments or proving oneself right, rather than having a meaningful conversation. By prioritizing pride and sensationalized trends over the actual substance of the issue, people may be missing out on important opportunities to learn from different perspectives and engage in productive discussions.
In order to have a more comprehensive understanding of the complex issues surrounding the Marcos dictatorship, it's important to focus on the historical record and the facts. We should be willing to listen to opposing viewpoints and engage in constructive dialogue, rather than simply trying to score points or prove a point.

None of the people in this video have good chances to be rational, so they don't have much chance to get better and better beliefs over time. On the other hand, there are Spanish loanwords that became part of Filipino language, but many of those loanwords already have different meaning. Some of those Spanish loan words actually have their original or “Pure” Tagalog words.

To give a view on the mindset of the majority of the voters in the Philippines, It's a popularity contest. Doesn't matter if you're a corrupt fat old dude but because they see you on the TV all the time, just make a few false promises and they'd immediately accept you. The Philippines loves a strong leader, strong = manliness so Leni (the opposition) is deemed by many (mostly the old voters) not to be suited because of her being a woman and how disastrous the aquino term was (but the thing is, Ferdinand's last term is already failing the Philippines).
I'm by no means a Marcos supporter (Wanted lacson to win), I only want honest answers for BBM but thus far he actively avoided all of these questions like his life depends on it. Like what happened to the gold? Why install so many already proven corrupt politicians? Faked Diplomas? Just what is your priority for the Philippines, is it to revise history to make the people glorify your family again or to make it better? -- because so far, all of your focuses deemed to be falling into the former with you spending the taxpayer's money with your damn parties.
Basically, I just want honesty. And my opinion on all of this? The Philippines is doomed. Every single old supporters of his are literally fanatics who'll go so far to attack the accused parties. Remember what happened to the beatles when they came here? That's another bad thing the Marcoses have done. I love my fellow countrymen, but most of them have a very short term memory and very gullible, doesn't even research as long as their idols says so.

edit: also if you have a political system such as ours then it is only a given that people will vote by popularity (i voted for nograles btw). america has the same issue where it is difficult for an independent candidate to win since they they don't have the same machinery as the democrats or the republicans. so in many ways you can thank the 1987 constitution for that.

    Just two points:
    1. Clearly, you can see the educational crisis that our country is facing for a long time. Filipinos would rather believe on what they see on social media rather than what they have learned in school, in HEKASI and Social Studies.
    2. The people in the video who are for BBM acknowledged, in one way or another, that the Marcoses did something wrong in the past. One man even mentioned that not because Marcos Sr. was a criminal would mean that BBM will also be a criminal. Isn't it ironic that there are still Filipinos who do not or fail to acknowledge that the Marcoses were judged by the Supreme Court to be guilty with a number of crimes that they have committed.

Across the three assessments, poor learning results were observed among students in the Philippines, with more than 80 percent of them falling below minimum levels of proficiency expected for the respective grades. The country was last in reading and second to last in science and mathematics among 79 countries in Pisa. In SEA-PLM, it was among the bottom half of the six countries in reading, mathematics, and writing literacy.

Unsolicited advice: di dapat sinisisi yung mga taong nabiktima ng disinformation. Ang dapat sisihin, yung puno. Sino ba ang nagkalat ng disinformation at ano ba ang ginagawa ng platforms para itigil ang disinformation? Masyado tayong kampante sa sarili nating abilidad bilang tao na kaya natin magfilter ng information on our own pero time and time again media outlets and advertisement companies has proven na kayang imanipulate and decision-making nating mga tao. So please, stop with this narrative na di critical thinkers ang voters. Bigyan ng accountability ang mga platforms para tunay at reliable ang nirerelease nilang information para matigil ang disinformation.

I disagree. If that's what you think, then you're admitting that individuals alone are powerless against disinformation. The groups who hold the power will always find ways to keep it, and they will not easily bend to what the masses/country needs, but to what THEY want. You just can't ask them to stop. Why would they?

I appreciate all your valid comments. Im just trying to give another perspective.
Pero as consumers, we are entitled to fight back against these tech powerhouses. Since powerful sila, hayaan na lng natin silang gamitin lahat ng information natin against our will to manipulate us? Yes may option sa settings to limit the use of our information, pero they will still find ways para sa kanilang agenda. Kung ang sisi nasa tao lang na gumagamit ng ffacebook, ang dali lang sabihin na wag ng gumamit ng social media. Pero lahat ba susunod? Sana as much as we fight for our political candidates , we also fight for the right of our future generation for a more ethical social media environment.
This was a good discussion. Thank you for being respectful sa comments.

She is really determined and really sticked to her own pride. I mean everyone has their own opinions about this, but so far this lady really enraged me. She’s the one to talk complaining how Marcos promised to decrease the production of foods, but yet she doesn’t know that’s not in his hands. It will be a downgrade too for our country if it went down. Many companies will be bankrupted and may lead to a downfall to the countries economy. She’s the one acting as if she has no money or job. You have the urge to say that when you yourself have a job. You’ll have the right to say those things if you don’t have a job. Many youths nowadays educate themselves through many different platforms and sources of the internet. But it’s truly disheartening that they don’t know what they’re saying. As a Filipino national who Immigrated to America at a young age due to parents and growing up here, I really hope for the best for the Filipino people and for them to truly be independent from the influences of other nations that have no intent to better the Filipino people. Stay strong, stop fighting each other and think for yourselves. Mabuhay! 🇵🇭

I did stop arguing with kind of issues when i read an article about the Department of Education and Static Board of the Philippines that.
In every 6 kids in the Philippines 1 of them didn’t attend School at all, 7 out 10 manage to Finished Primary or Elementary and out of 7 of that 4 finished High School and only 1 continue College or University which were not sure if they can Graduated on the course they choose. You can really see how those who voted for Marcos answered the questions vs those who criticized Marcos.
As Filipino, many of them think that because he is the son of former Dictotaro Marcos Sr., they think Marcos Jr. is as good as his father. But for the past 6 years, what does Marcos Jr. did at his balwarte(hometown)? vs other candidates?
