- As two of the largest tributaries to Kettle Creek (a premiere Native Brook Trout Fishery in it's own right), Hammersley and Cross Forks are remote, beautiful, and highly productive. Fly fishing over the course of a long morning and brief afternoon fishing sessions, we managed to land a few Brookies, specifically utilizing Parachute Adams Dry Flys. With water levels relatively low (albeit cold - as evidenced by my stream side thermometer reading), fishing was tough. I must have spooked hundreds of trout in just a few hours. These two streams, in addition to Kettle, Slate, Cedar, Young Womans, and many others in that area make this my favorite place to fish in all of PA. Can't wait to get back up there.
Im staying at kettle creek campground next week. Cant wait to fish those two.
love the vid, nice brookies
Love the underwater release shots. What length is your fly rod?
The consistency of your intro saying is top notch
Good vid. Please show the trophy brookies farther from the lens.
Were you able to indentity the snake species?
You should check out the “thunderdome” dry fly pattern by Skip Morris. The parachute helps it stay really visible, and I think I get better hookup ratios because of the way the fly sits in the water and the nice hook gap. It’s my go to dry fly for Tioga and Potter county brook trout streams.
If you don’t tie, you can order them from feather craft fly fishing or other retailers.
Nice.. was at cross forks around that time too...did good
i'm with you brother, we are blessed to have the pa wilds area.
Streams are getting low but still cold but they are still fishable, zug bug size 12 has worked for me lately
We definitely need rain thanks for sharing
I'd try a treble hook with some powerbait.

I can see the penn live newspaper headlines now “Young frail boy, wannabe UA-camr famous for his sayings of “browntown” and “that’s real nice” goes missing in hammersly wild area, presumably attacked by a pack adolescent ducks”
