Love the video but I can not see Frederick Md as a trout town. When I think of a trout town. I think of streams all over. Not a few blue lines in one forest. The rest of the streams in the area all get warm. Some even warm enough you do not even find smallmouth in them. Slatyfork WV comes to mind with the elk river and all the tribuataries.
Love it man. Living in south central pa I’ve wondered often if it’s worth going to Maryland close. This kind of answers my question. There’s definitely times I have a hard time thinking of traveling when so much is so close. Love the videos though man. Tight lines 🎣🎣🎣
Definitely worth checking out the Gunpowder River near Parkton MD (I'd recommend a weekday though in off-season). Some other goods one (but approx. 3 hours from South Central PA) is the Savage River and North Branch Potomac in western Maryland.
I only specifically mentioned Big Hunting Creek and the Gunpowder which are easily 2 of the most well-known fisheries in Maryland. I did not however mention the name of the 2 smaller streams. Not sure spot burning applies here.@@mrnuts3317
Don’t listen to these haters man. It was an awesome video. I already knew the 2 streams, blame trout routes, not traveling trout co. and that Maryland hospitality might still keep from ever hitting it even with the recommendation. If you’re ever in south central though and want a fishing bro hmu. I’m pretty much out any chance I get.
@TravelingTroutCo the spillway from the lake fished really well during the peak of the flood. I just broke a pb too, 19" palomino on an orange zebra midge. But I hear ya, can't make an entire video on that tiny lil thing lol. But glad too see you posting again. can't wait, looking forward to it
Big Hunting has been mis managed.. the dam releases have been reduced to a trickle at times killing most of the fish below the dam..The lake above the dam is more managed for boating and swimming and when summer droughts come.. the dam management shuts the flows down to a ridiculous flow..Its a shame since Big Hunting used to be a really nice trout stream..
Been fly fishing Big Hunting Creek since the late 60’s👍
I grew up on both of these streams. The avg size of the trout in the 90s were much larger. Good to see there are still some left.
me too
Cool Beans, It's not everyday that one sees his home town on youtube. Great video
Seat of Justice!! Love the vids. We might’ve been at the Gunpowder on the same day. That’s…that’s real niiiiiice.
Thanks dude appreciate it. I've grown to really like the Gunpowder.
Yessssss dude I’ve been waiting forever for an upload
lol you watch this guy too 😂 guess it makes sense since he fishes the Cumberland valley area

I second the exact same thing you’ve said. Frederick MD has one maybe two true trout streams
I see what you're saying. But MD DNR does stock several more streams in the vicinity. A few even make it past the opening day gauntlet :)

My home stream I absolutely love BHC it's a great fisherie
Agreed, definitely a quality fishery!
Eisenhower fished Hunting Creek.
Eta on the boiling springs video?
Hopefully in the next few weeks - the rain/flooding hasn't helped lol.

Hey, we need to talk.
Go on, what do we need to talk about..?
The clowns migrated up 270 and ruined Frederick. Nothing like it was.........
Love the content. But the “Get the hook out take a look at him” will keep me away from your channel.
