J'aime lorsque les personnes ici apportent des critiques alors même qu'ils n'y connaissent absolument rien, car pour faire des comparaisons hasardeuses entre des chanteuses aussi éloignée en tessiture vocale telle qu'une Maria Callas : soprano dramatique et Nadine Sierra soprano lyrique ;c'est aussi débile que de faire la comparaison entre la voix de mezzo colorature d'une Sabine Devieilhe, et la Très regrettée Soprano dramatique Alexia Cousin qui n'ont rien en commun par leur tessitures vocales. Ensuite, il y a le répertoire : chaque voix est plus à l'aise dans tel ou tel registre, ce qui n'interdit pas de s'essayer à tout chanter en prenant bien conscience que l'on sera moins performant, car en dehors de sa zone de confort. C'est un peu ce qui se passe ici avec Nadine Sierra dans cet aria de Louise, en tant que soprano limite colorature qui manque par conséquent de chaleur et de rondeur dans les graves et les mediums contrairement à une Montserrat Caballé avec pourtant la même catégorie de voix, mais qui avait cette prouesse technique d'avoir dans sa voix les rondeurs et la chaleur d'une mezzo soprano dramatique mieux adapté pour chanter l'air de Louise ce qui n'enlève absolument rien à l'immense talent de Nadine Sierra, qui performe bien plus magistralement dans la Traviata de verdi par ex et garde toute mon admiration n'en déplaise aux Cassandre qui ne connaissent rien en chant et qui ici la critique et la dénigre.

I hear vocal distress from over-singing. The vibrato is rather pronounced for a relatively young singer, and she has intonation issues. I think she should back off the heavy repertoire.
Well done considering this piece is not as easy as it appears. Just look at the score. Difficult to keep the tempo flowing without oversinging like many performers.
She nails it. I also enjoy La Cotrubas version and La Netrebko live at Victoires de La Musique France. And above in the sky of Legends of course La Caballe ❤ version. What about you ?

As a matter of fact young Callas was a FAT woman and her voice was much much darker, dramatic, heavier and much bigger as a fat young woman than what it became after she lost over 100 pounds later in her career. She's sung more difficult arias perfectly. Depuis Le Jour is definitely within her abilities. Singers are humans, not machines; she may just be having an off day.
