It is worth more than 20K you will be able to sell it for much more in the future. Supply and demand and subs always hold value. I was on the waiting list for 3 years.
I was fortunate enough to get a Hulk at retail in 2018. I had only previously bought one other Rolex from that AD (an original Batman). Is it worth $25,000? This is an unpopular answer but I’d say YES! Collectors view watches as little works of art and the reality is there were just fewer Hulks made than black subs. My AD told me he only received 1 Hulk for every 6 or 7 black Submariners. He estimated he only received 2 or 3 Hulk’s per year throughout its production run. Because of the Hulk’s relative rarity, it will hold its value and continue to rise....just like a rare work of art from a deceased artist like Picasso. Picasso is not making anymore paintings and Rolex is not making any more Hulk’s. In addition to its relative rarity, the Hulk’s collectibility is further fueled by the fact that green is the official brand color of Rolex. Any green watch from Rolex is highly coveted by collectors for that reason alone. Additionally, green represents prosperity in many cultures and is considered “lucky.”. Green evokes powerful emotions and is the dominant color of nature and thus is viewed as a symbol of growth and abundance. Green is believed to also have a calming effect and is associated with peace, rest and security which is why TV show guests wait in a “green room” before taping. Whether you collect watches for their artistic value or their intrinsic value, yes the Hulk is a very special piece and is worth its current market price.
It's not art, it's hype created by social media. You call this overpriced mass produced steel trash a piece of art? Fashion and tastes change every few years, green is hot now and maybe won't be so in the future. As for "Rolex is not making Hulk anymore", well, all rolexes look the same, they will just release another green sub in the future, maybe 1mm bigger or smaller, or maybe with different colored markers that looks maybe 1% different from the hulk.

My brother-in-law was offered a Hulk in 2015 at the AD. No purchase history. He declined because he thought the AD wants to sell a watch nobody wants (which was kinda true at that time). He then went for a Breitling. Ask him how he feels about it now… 😅

I love it, a very original watch. No other steel sub has a coloured dial and there will never be another 40mm sub with a coloured dial. It was a one off - and in Rolex Green.
I was never interested in this watch but when I saw it in person I was very wowed & purchased it straight away. The dial really is something special. Lucky for me this was @ least 5 years back & cost me 5.5k GBP. As much as I love it would I pay 20k now? Not a chance!

Hulk is the ultimate watch in my humble opinion. Some people find it too green but you really have to try it on your wrist to see the magic of sunburst dial.
Imho the black Sub is the ultimate watch as it is the most iconic and yet can be worn at every occasion, from sunny t-shirt days to rainy funeral ones. However, the Hulk is a perfect complementation to almost every collection.
Got it retail price 5years ago. I remember nobody wanted it yuck its green! HA! im glad I didnt sell it . Love the sunburst green dial ! Something to behold for. As usual great review! 👍

The hulk is really an eye catching quality among the Rolex it poseses a green color so attractive that your heart pounds when You see someone wearing it. Proud to have one that turned out to be a collectible now a day, my waiting in line payed of. 😊
I bought one in 2014 around $ 8300, i contact 3 dealers in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and UAE all don't have it (i did not know there is waiting list thing at that time) then i went to Kuwait with my friend and in the mall i saw rolex outlet and i wanted to see the watches only, i asked the guy in the shop do you have the green one, he replied yes 😯 ,, i have one , then he go in side room and bring it to me , i did not expect that

Although I love green, I never liked the shade of green on the original "Kermit". The Hulk got the green of the bezel right but, with the green dial it was too much green, even for me. The new model "Cermit" is perfect in my humble opinion. I agree with you completely on the analysis of the popularity of the "Hulk".
This watch will continue to increase in value. It really is special. Once you wear one in the 🌞 you'll understand. I won't sell mine for many years to come.

I chose this watch a few years ago at retail simply because I wanted a different colour than black. Both are great watches and it is not worth a penny more than a black one.
Veblen good theory is essentially Rolex’s marketing strategy. Great vid and thoughts. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and something is only worth what somebody is prepared to pay for it!

Bought one some time ago before they discontinued, CPO for $12k. Now it’s just insanity, wouldn’t buy one...
IMHO, I think if Rolex can roll back time to the pre Hulk period with current hindsight, they would have wish to produce the new Kermit to replace the old Kermit then the Hulk to replace the new Kermit. On this basis alone, the Hulk will be the much desired watch to the collectors now and even more in the future hence, one should get hold of once before it became even more harder and expensive to own.
Bought one on retail a few years back, no one wanted one because it was green. No intention of selling it, even though the prices are madness!!

Got one of the last ones. What amazes me most about the Hulk is how much different it looks on wrist as opposed to on paper or in videos. In the latter two the watch tends toward garish, loud, clownish - on wrist, it’s nothing short of jaw dropping. Seriously. That sunrise dial and the unity of changing colours reflected in light - is something that can only be truly appreciated in person. Not to mention that magic green dial to black and back again trick - which makes everyone who sees it do a double take, lol. In a way most Rolex watches are like Vermeer paintings in that they “come alive” in light. Pictures truly don’t do these exceptional “works of Art” posing as mere watches justice.

The hulk is awesome in person than in videos or photos. Probably the best sub ever imho --- but i dont support the grey market. Unfortunately, its discontinued. Thats why the price is like this. My point is if its still in production, buy fm an authorized dealer only; if they dont want to give you, get something else.
Anything is worth exactly what someone is willing to pay for it.
Lucky enough to get a "HULK" from my AD back in 2015 at retail price. I certainly was not an "elite" buyer, as this was my first luxury watch purchase. Just a very lucky day indeed !!!!
You werent that lucky, in 2014 noone really wanted that watch. Any Rolex apart from the Daytona was pretty much available back then. I got A Smurf with 20 pct off from an AD in 2012....On the grey market you could buy that watch for 18k not long ago. I actually overpaid. Today I would make a nice 10k profit if would sell it

Worth it, what other watch is as iconic as this at this price point?! This watch gets as much attention as much more expensive watches, look how many brands have tried to fake this look as well as the Rolex pepsi. For a watch to have such an influence, be recognizable and stand out above the rest that is saying a lot! If you can afford it then I think it's worth the price of entry

correct rolex wont ever bring back the 40 in green this timepiece will only go up in value its totally different the dial and bezel are the same color as the box easy this watch will be worth 30 k in the near future .
That's as much as I paid for my new car. I hope Rolex will realize the current demand for an all-green Submariner and reintroduce it with the new case and movement.

My seiko 5 “hulk” has the same green sunburst dial and darker green bezel. Paid $250. Saved myself $19750 😂

You are not getting 20 k worth of engineering or finish. It is highly hyped. There are so many precious metal watches that also have better finish and greater accuracy like grand seiko that I believe is far better calue

@@rchstokes9064 to be honest, the rotor noise is just nonsense- I don’t even notice it if you don’t pay attention and you are in a areas with absolutely not noise at all (0db) and regarding the look? Yes I prefer the green bezel with black dial over all greenish watch ...

@@rchstokes9064 to be honest, I have the Rolex gmt master ii BLNR (Oyster) and the new one with jubilee (also previous Submariner ND) and the new one with Date .. and I can hardly recognize the noise ... so, In a everyday situation (90% of your time) you won’t see any differences with respect to rotor noises ... but you can see the increase in power reserve and the better proportion (balance ) of the watch ...
Those submariner watches are made with very cheap steel that scratches very easily., No decoration on the case back, once you have the watch you get very bored very quickly, it's a boring watch, doesn't matter what '' they '' tell you, the watch is not that great.

904L SS is a purer grade stainless steel than the other common SS that being used by the other watch manufacturer. Therefore, it is highly resistant to corrosion but the downside is it is a softer steel hence scratch and dent resistant is less.
