In this video we pick-up, following my previous video that revealed the extent of the rust and corrosion found over the winter, in my Jaguar XJS. All of the remedial work has now been completed and the car is better can ever. While I was at SE Jags, the owner of a vary handsome Jaguar XJR V8 showed us around his car and shared some similar 'ownership experiences' to me.
I hope you enjoy this video, please don't forget to like and share.

Getting a Jag on the road after a long hiatus is always such a wonderful feeling. The welding work looks great. Also, that is the sound of a V12 that is on song! Looking forward to more videos where you get to finally use the car.

I was looking at the worlds that those guys did for you. I am so sorry those are so ugly and hideous but I’m sure they did a good job and made it strong. Thank you for the video.

Looking at your floors inside, you should be addressing the surface rust, with some product like POR15 or rust converter.. it will resist any residual dampness from the carpets, and humidity. Old jags with these floor pans, were super strong design, but all had rot over the years. It’s almost impossible to find one that doesn’t need work. You also benefit from documented repairs, with a company name to back them, unlike DIY ‘mystery welding’. I do welding myself and see some awful repairs… but these are mostly because of cost limits, and how far to cut back. Also, MOT type welding, is different to Restoration welding… you can buy the radius arm mount section, and whole floor pan sides from Martin Robey, in UK. Lastly, it’s not the best place to raise the car on the post lift, on the radius arm mounts, as the reinforcing strap gets bent against the arm, and creates a squeak when they bind and flex… evident on the early inspection part of your video. All jacking points are now strong and useable.

Well worth it in the long run. That is one classy and rare xjs. You'd forever regret selling it!

Looks fantastic. Way better than most of the soulless modern stuff. Put a few V12 badges on it here and there 👍

My wife often solicits the sale of my Jags over the years. My retort to her is, Isn’t it a GOOD thing that I’m not spending all this money on hookers and blow? Look at it as a mental health expenditure to keep you happy and out of trouble.

😂😂 My guess is, if your hobbies were hookers and blow, you’d have more money left over to give to the wife and keep her distracted, anyway.

I might be hated upon but in my opinion I think the XJS is better looking than the E-type.

An expression i like very much: Owning a Jaguar is like being married to the most beautiful woman in the world with a very, very expensive Heroin habit. 🤣

The exhaust sounded loud, I remember them being much quieter.

The car has a stainless TT exhaust from AJ6 Engineering, which only has sports rear boxes. It sounds magnificent when opened up, while being surprisingly liveable with around town.
