In 1980 my friend and I flew to Molokai and went down the cliff to kalaupapa with others and a tour guide on mules. Them mules are very surefooted. The guide took us to the water and on the rocks there were so many BIG opihis. I don’t think anybody used to go fishing or picking opihis then because Kalaupapa was a leper colony at the time.

Easy to catch fish in areas where not everyone can fish. Just like many social media and YT videos, the fishing grounds are being raped because they need to make videos for content to get more views. Even if they don't need the fish, they have to go elsewhere to make more fishing videos, especially by going where no one else can go.
