Awesome video. The drone footage of both day and night was great. I knew the terminal was big because I’ve seen videos of it before, but I did not know it was that big. I could never figure out why there was so many trucks sitting behind the inbound building. Those are the ones that were waiting to be picked up. I know I hear other drivers say that it’s hard to find a place to park when you go there sometimes. Now I can see why. Your videos are just amazing. Be safe out there

I’m still in the training phase but I’m only 21. Came to Prime with my CDL though. Prime has $8,000 thermal cameras also to check temperatures during the inbound process so they can keep social distancing also.

JJ-awesome videos. You do a great job keeping them interesting. Question-what do you do if you run down your clock when you park a service station and they call you in for your repairs after you park. Can you move the truck around the lot after driving your daily or weekly limits?
Yes, once I'm there and at a shop, I can either go on duty yard move (if I'm just out of drive hours) or I can even log out of the system, as long as I don't leave the lot that way.
Wow that is a large place. Almost seems u would need a vehicle of sorts to get to all the building. When a student comes there to train do they have to end up walking all over or everything they do designated to 1 general area?
It's basically the training pad which is next to the inbound Plaza building, and then the Millennium bldg. It's a bit of a walk, but only twice a day. Gotta get in some walking while you can. After training comes the sitting on your butt all day long!

Thanks Erol. I got my CDL from Prime, but I did it in Salt Lake City instead of Springfield. They base your terminal off of where you live. SLC has a nice new terminal now, and being from AZ, that's where they'd send you.

Prime will give you a list of items to bring but it's pretty basic. Check out the channel by Trucker John. He went through orientation not too long ago and did a very good video regarding what he brought. The only thing I would recommend differently is to bring travel-size instead full size bottles.

Yep, just like if you leased a car, you're responsible for maintenance and non warranty repairs. The interval on these new trucks is a whopping 75,000 miles between oil changes 😁
@@JJtheTrucker If it was my truck I would be doing oil changes every 30,000 miles. I don't have much experience with the paccar mx-13 engines, on the Cummins Isx-15 I have seen extensive valve train wear and really dirty nasty engine when they are maintained with a 75,000 mile interval and I have worked on engines that were serviced on a 30,000 to 50,000 interval and they were much cleaner and better overall. A oil change is really not expensive if you do it yourself.
On the garmin dezlcam what the key word for truck stops because I said that and it comes up different name. Can you do a whole video on the garmin dezlcam
You have to name the specific place. Once voice activated, "find place", choose (with your voice) whether you want near current location, near destination or along route, then say the name of the place, such as "Pilot" or "Travel Centers of America", etc.
It does, but not via voice command. It displays the next truck parking, next diesel and next restaurant on the right side. If you click on it, it'll show a full list along the route.

The viewer results are really hit and miss. This one is doing well, so that's good. I def have the other 2 terminals on my to do list.

No, not on the 579s. The Freightliner has that upgrade option. The Pete doesn't seem to need it. Rides smoooooooth.
Are you required to pay for oil changes on your truck and what is the mileage interval for oil changes?
Yep, just like if you leased a car, you're responsible for maintenance and non warranty repairs. The interval on these new trucks is a whopping 75,000 miles between oil changes 😁
@@JJtheTrucker If it was my truck I would be doing oil changes every 30,000 miles. I don't have much experience with the paccar mx-13 engines, on the Cummins Isx-15 I have seen extensive valve train wear and really dirty nasty engine when they are maintained with a 75,000 mile interval and I have worked on engines that were serviced on a 30,000 to 50,000 interval and they were much cleaner and better overall. A oil change is really not expensive if you do it yourself.

On the garmin dezlcam what the key word for truck stops because I said that and it comes up different name. Can you do a whole video on the garmin dezlcam
You have to name the specific place.
Once voice activated, "find place", choose (with your voice) whether you want near current location, near destination or along route, then say the name of the place, such as "Pilot" or "Travel Centers of America", etc.

It does, but not via voice command. It displays the next truck parking, next diesel and next restaurant on the right side. If you click on it, it'll show a full list along the route.
