Well, what's better than a cheat sheet of rules in your own hand. just move it and you know the answer. Otherwise, you could just remember it and imagine in your head
See, let's first define what a magnetic field is, it's the direction where the north pole of a compass which is at the end of the day a small magnet will point if its kept at that particular point. So at that point where he has kept the south pole of the magnet, the magnetic field is inwards i.e. the north pole of a compass will point inwards. Now we know that if the north pole of a compass points inwards then definitely the south could not be inwards because north and south are opposites . So the south pole of a magnet will experience a force exactly opposite to the north pole of a compass i.e. exactly opposite to the magnetic field that will be opposite of inwards i.e. outwards.
See the whole magnetic field is drawn in perspective of North Pole so the inward direction at South Pole is the direction in which the North Pole would react so the South Pole would react the opposite of North Pole
According to the magnetic field, if there was a north pole there, it would have experienced a force into the screen but as you know there is a south pole so it experienced out of the screen.
If it was a north pole over there, it would point into the screen because if we put a compass in that position, the north pole of the compass would point into the screen, but in this case there's a south pole instead of a north pole so when we put a compass there, the south pole of the compass would point out of the screen. Thus explaining why the south pole experienced a force into the screen.
See the way the arrows point, the north pole experiences a force into the screen,so where should the south pole point..? Btw coincidentally we've got the same name,I'm Arshia here😁
According to the 3rd law the force will have a equal and opposite reaction right..? Then both of those will be cancelled out thus making the force on wire equal to zero.. Please help me here...!!!
So buddy, you've first of all got the law wrong, in the sense it is incomplete. Newton's third law states that for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction *and the action and reaction act on TWO DIFFERENT BODIES* If suppose you hit a ball with a bat, taking your analogy in consideration, the ball and the bat apply an equal and opposite force on each other and hence the forces should cancel each other. If this holds true, the ball must not move after it is hit, but in reality we know it does move and the bat does not fly away too. So what actually happens is the ball when hit by a bat , the bat applies a force on the ball i.e. the action then in turn, the ball applies a force of equal magnitude on the bat i.e. the reaction. Now you understand that the action acts on the ball while the reaction acts on the bat. So definitely these are not going to cancel each other because they do not act on the same body. What do you mean when two forces cancel each other, if someone tries to move a heavy block with 10 N force and some other person tries to move it exactly in the opposite direction with exactly the same force i.e. 10 N , then the forces cancel out and the net force is 0. In this case the action and reaction act on the same body, hence the forces cancel out. But when the action and reaction act on two different bodies, they have different implications according to their masses and velocity. You may know F= ma,now the ball experiences the same force as the bat but much more acceleration than the bat because it has lesser mass than a bat. The same can be applied to all cases and in this case to wires and magnets. I hope you find this helpful. I think by this time you must've already passed your 10th grade, but i hope others who have the same question find it helpful:)
The magnetic field we consider is not of the conductor, it is of the magnet. Right hand thumb rule derives relation between magnetic field of a conductor and the current flowing through that conductor.
i cramped my hand in the exam hall, thanks fleming
How well have u explained the reason behind the left hand rule! Awesome! This channel is of another level.
Extraordinary teacher, breaking down complex ideas and concepts in such approachable manner it's truly appreciating
Lol We learned it as
Father ( force)
Mother ( magnetic field)
Child ( current )
Deriving the directions from newton's 3rd law is easier than doing this fingerplay sorcery
frfr
Please what's the tip
I like how you put Fleming's left hand rule as some kind of fingerplay sorcery XD
Real.
Can someone please explain how to use the 3rd law in this case. I can't understand it.
mahesh shenoy my fav
Sir u have a very nice voice
Oh, so I'm not the only one who thought that!! 🤭
I loved this video.thank god for khan academy
Can't we have better way than the Fleming's left hand rule!
I know right it sucks
Sorry because it is the only best way to find the direction of force easily what can we do we have to expect it ...and try it..
it is easy

Go make your own way...I don't think there's an easier one 😂
right hand palm rule
absolutely amazing now I'll tell my friends also bout this
I didn't understand how south pole experiences the force outwards? Some one please explain ( 4:13 )

This video made me realize that I never ever moved/stretched my left hand fingers😂
PS:Yeah It's paining ....lol
Thank you, amazing explanation.
That looks and sounded painful
4:12 I didn't understand why the South pole didn't experience a force into the screen, and why out of the screen. Please explain Sir

you said that the magnetic field lines never touch and they combine when put nearer then wont the magnetic field of the wire and the poles combine???
5:46 is from where flemings rule is explained
😍loved the concept very well
Very Nice 👍😊

@@Sitara_921some appreciation for your long and detailed explanation 👏🏾👏🏾🗣
Thank uh:) Glad u found it helpful ☺️
How is it that the Direction of force won't change when the angle between the current and magnetic field changes???Pls explain.....
The force will always be perpendicular so direction remains same but magnitude of force will decrease as angle decreases from 90
Is the Force direction described an attraction force or repellling force?
Concept cleared
Nice hands
🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
Sir how did you make all those drawings. Is there any app
At 9:25, but from the right thumb rule,it can't happen right, how can there be an angle lesser than 90 between the magnetic field and current...?
The magnetic field we consider is not of the conductor, it is of the magnet.
Right hand thumb rule derives relation between magnetic field of a conductor and the current flowing through that conductor.
I used to remember it as IBM
I for Current
B for mangectic field
M for motion or force
BMI
Good work
Why does a wire carrying the current produces magnetic field?
Bcz, movement of electron I think so
Idk...it's because whenever there's an electric field, there'salways a magnetic field, it's proven using an experiment, though.
Thankyousomuch sir!
