Hey, here's a dedicated CBSE course on our website where you can practice all the concepts related to this video and more. And oh, it's always free. www.khanacademy.org/science/in-in-class10th-physics/in-in-magnetic-effects-of-electric-current
Ur just amazing..bro I can understand clearly..even in compared to college..I'm very interested to watch u videos..with neat explaination and with ur excellent..English..along with funny😁😁😍😍
no words to explain....I was totally blank about the ELECTRIC MOTOR concept..now i understood it very clearly ...thank you soo much for such a nice animation with explanation and posting this video in UA-cam ....giving access to everyone ! 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Thank you so much sir!!!You are the only teacher who can explain me physics...I am so grateful to you...Please upload the rest of the chapter ASAP as my exam is on coming Monday..please sir it would be a greatttt help...Thank you again🙏🏻🙏🏻
For theory of physics, I look at this guy's videos; for physics involving calculations, I look at the organic chemistry tutor's videos. These two youtube accounts have been saving my life for a long time.
This is the best explanation for an electric motor. I have watched several videos where they have the same explanations for everything but can’t seem to explain the commutator part vey well. Not only did this channel(khan academy) explain all the information vividly , he also explained the commutator part extremely well and I have to say it did take me some time to take in everything , I still understood afterwards which would not have been possible with the other channels. Books, websites, videos cannot compete with the explanation you have gave which was outstanding. Once again, thank you so much for having such a good explanation and making me understand
I’ve been watching your videos on electromagnetism and electromagnetic induction and wow 🤩 what has taken me a year to understand you’ve explained so clearly in under 15 minutes tysm may your channel continue to grow so you can help more students out there
We are so grateful to you sir.. Not just the concepts are explained in such a thorough way but the way this video is edited makes it more easier for us to understand. I can’t imagine the amount of hard work and pain you take for us
extremely helpful, thanks alot The animation makes it much easier to understand. In some other channels they just keep talking and don't show or write anything which makes it hard to grasp the information.
Thank you so much!!. This video made the concept crystal clear for me. The animation was amaaazing. I couldn't understand how the flipping of current takes place but thanks to you, now I'll remember the concept for life-long. Thanks a lot again!.
The only video out of probably 30 that Ive watched that helped me to actually understand this topic, clear explanation and the most easy to understand animation ever thank you so much
SIR MIND BLOWING EXPLANATION......You are the only one in this whole UA-cam who explained all the concept. ......Really sir you have covered all my doubts.....
You could put an end to this fabulously communicative video explaining the reason behind the holes in the ring. When the brushes touch the curved segments of the commutator, electrons find the shorter path and don't travel through the rectangular long route. No force, not even any torque acting on the loop. Inertia comes into play and tilts the loop counterclockwise. The brushes now touch the previously untouched segment of the commutator. The current direction reverses.
Best 👍explanation brother Keep the good work I watched many videos on DC motor they're all confusing me from perpendicular direction of loop along the magnetic field You solve this problem Thanks❤
forr real this is the one of the best explanatin .i was having so my questions related to this topic but after watching this video it had cleared all my doubts ..thank you so much
This is just MIND BLOWING explanation ✨can't find any to the point and such an amazing video on this topic on the whole youtube!! Thanks, Mahesh Shenoy!! 😊❤and khan academy
a doubt - you said that when the loop is parallel to the magnetic field, the force in the yellow wires is trying to pull the loop apart but then will it cause any damage to the loop? like if the force acting on the yellow wire is greater than the force acting on the pink and blue wires?
No it won't cause any damage because it can be like...the yellow wires are pulled apart at the same time half the rotation and when they become parallel they become normal
Wow yaar so beautifully explained. I never never expected that someone would have explained such a complicated thing in so lucid manner. 👊👊👊👍khan academy is simply the best...
Wooow I will never get tired of saying that this is the best channel in term of sciences awesome explanation and understandable English ✨✨✨✨✨ I always love ur teachings 😍😍😍😍😍 thank you
The best explanation ever! I was able to understand and my doubts are completely cleared, I don't know how to thank you sir. THANK YOU SO MUCH!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙇🏻♀️🙇🏻♀️
I am confused as to why the motor turns clockwise in the beginning of the video. Shouldn't it turn counterclockwise as you have the North pole on the right-hand-side and South pole on the left-hand-side. I think you have gotten everything correct but the placement of the poles. If the North pole were on the left-side and South pole were on the right-side, then only would it turn clockwise. Correct me if I am wrong, I study in Canada and it might be different here, but I highly doubt it. Thanks!
NISH You would use your right hand only if you’re dealing with positive charges or conventional current, however in a motor only electrons (negative charges) will be flowing through it as it will be connected to a battery. Thus, when dealing with negative chargers, you are supposed to use your left hand, like you should in an electric motor.
Jai, that’s exactly what I said previously. When I tried the left hand rule, the motor was actually rotating in the correct direction. When I tried the rule for the pink wire, my thumb pointed upwards.
NISH I did use my left hand rule it’s just not working.... The field should be moving from North to South, but this video is saying it’s moving from South to North. Honestly, we don’t use Fleming’s Left Hand rule here, we use another method. However, no matter what method we use, shouldn’t the result be universal?
The best ever explanation I have heard on UA-cam on this topic... It was really confusing that how the Motor works but sir you made it a piece of cake for us ..
Awesome explanation sir 👍 Your voice is very clear and understanding such topic with animation was great...... Btw how does carbon brushes conduct electric current???
U are really great sir your explanation are very simple at once we I can understood and I don't find tough topics tough after watching your explanation thaks a lot sir and sir I really love the way you are speaking english
At 7:10 , I don't think that coil will move in reverse direction . As the forces are upward and downward , so the coil will remain stationary and motor will not work . But it's not true to say that coil will move in reversed direction
You are right about the turning force (torque) being zero. But, since the coil already has some momentum, it would continue to turn. It's similar to how a running ceiling fan continues to turn for a while even after being turned off.
@@KhanAcademyIndiaEnglish But if it is the coil's momentum making it to move further , then it's momentum should make it rotate in same direction , instead that momemtum making it's direction reversed . Well , thanks a lot The quiz was also awesome .
Exactly from the example of electric fan , it rotates for sometime even when we switch off , but it rotates momentarily in the same direction as it was moving . Hence , the coil , if rotates for sometime with momentum , then it should rotate for rest in same direction , instead in reversed direction
Omg broooo THIS IS THE BEST EXPLANATION OF DC MOTORS EVER TO EXIST 😭😭 THIS FRICKIN SAVED MY ASS AND IT'S IN ENGLISH TOO 😭😭 I'M INDIAN BUT IDK HINDI SO THIS CHANNEL JUST SAVES ME FROM PHY 😭

Yes baccha... you are right
If we provide alternating current will it spin in one direction without split rings?
No

This gives a very clear explanation of a motor
Thanks Khan it was a great explanation I appreciate it
Beautifully explained!!
Sir I want to ask, how if we use the AC current for this motor? Is that posibble?
We always put dc current in THIS TYPE of motor.
