Actually just sold my Meteor Supernova and am thinking that the Bullet will be a better option for me. I loved the Meteor but found the feet forward position of the pegs meant that you can't absorb the shock of a bump or pothole through your legs and so it goes right up your spine which is not great for someone in their 60's. The low powered 350 motor is actually a very friendly and willing little power plant that never feels stressed and is absolutely fine for our winding country roads. I have larger capacity bikes if I feel the need to travel far or faster - the Bullet and Meteor are all about the fun factor.
Wow, great video! Very informative and pleasing to watch, especially your style of capturing, recording the shots, very very good, may I please knownabout your camera and lenses, for the distortion in the edges but focuses in the middle, wow great video as I said and again. ❤👍
Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed the video. I shoot mostly on the Canon R6 Mark II, various Canon L series primes, 14mm F2.8, 24mm F1.4, 35mm F1.4, 50mm F1.2 and 85mm F1.2 as well as various GoPros. Most of the effect you describe is down to the colour grade.
The esthetic of the Bullet is just perfect, as it has always been. That 350cm3/20hp engine gives you also pleasure even at 30kms/h. The road won't be your race circuit , that's another good point up to me. Good video, i like the way you're talking and illustrating at the same time with the right images, in a concise way also.
Thanks for your kind words and glad to hear you enjoyed the video. Agree with your thoughts on the Bullet. If I didn’t already have Meteor in the garage, then I’d buy a bullet as my daily rider, love them.
In india every other household have it now or had Bullet in past years. Every young child has dream to own it once in life. Its emotion for many in India. Other RE models equally popular.
Hunter, another great little bike, but it would be the Bullet for me…however, we have just had a Himalayan 450 delivered, and all I will say is wow, I could see myself selling the Meteor so I can buy one
The Bullet and Classic is a far better touring bike than the Hunter with the larger diameter wheels giving it longer legs and a much more comfortable seat. The Hunter could be a great little Cafe Racer 🏍️
@@percentbigfoot we will be shooting content with it for the next 4-5 weeks then start putting out some videos, so I'd say around mid May if everything goes to plan.
Thanks for the video you two. WIth regard the Meteor, a common criticism is that the seating position has the rear suspension transmitting bumps right up your spine. The more upright position of the Bullet would suggest this issue is not as great for it? Interested in your view on this. Cheers.
Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed it. I haven’t had any issues with the rear shock on my Meteor, then again one of my other bikes is a BMW R18, that can give you a reel jolt if you hit a bump.
I think the power is adequate too. And I agree, adding ten more HP, people would want ten more. Yay! RE mirrors! Hahahahaha strike again! A champ of a bike.
Great review.. Beautiful bike.. I did a test ride on the Maroon color one.. Loved its tourqey engine.. The thing that bothers me the most spoke wheels. Agree its retro looks n all.. But then again, if i get a puncture, then im stranded for hours..RE showroom guys says, u buy alloys n tubeless from outside.. As they don't have them as spares... Your thoughts on those wheels.. I think it will be better if we go for the single channel ones, as in the case of a puncture, there's less complication in getting the tyre removed.. Just my concerns😢
Im sure there are plenty of aftermarket tubeless options available, but have to admit in 30 years of riding, I’ve only ever had one puncture to a tubes tyre.
Really like these 350s and am very interested. Got rid of my sportster about 5 years ago and have that itch again. In 40s now and am not chasing power or speed so i really think this is the ticket for a weekend warrior and the occasional commute. Live in Texas so no way id take this on the freeways here where the average speed is 75mph plus lol. But have plenty of country backroads near my neighborhood.
If they fit , try the old Honda mirror say from 1980,s CX 500 you can move them without interviewing as they move in a socket, you can get new reproduction ones from david silver spares.
I really love my Hunter 350, a nice blend of classic and modern for me to zoom around the city. Eagerly waiting to see how the Guerilla 450 turns out with the new engine ❤️
@@BikerTorque that's the leaked name for the better Hunter/450 scram they are working on. Same engine as the new Himi, journalists spotted a few being tested here in India.
Re foot pegs, sorry, not read through the feeds for comments… but first impressions from your video is wait until you’ve come to a near stop before you put your foot down so they’re the right side of the pegs ❤️
All bikes should have proper mudguards like these to be honest, looks don't mean much when you're full of water and mud and the bike will need a lot more cleaning. Mudguards were invented for a reason.
That new engine is a cracker, have only done a few shorts rides in the 450 Himalayan so far, but wow, what a bike. Yes would be interesting to see that engine in a classic styled machine
I'll review the red and Chrome for you I have one it's perfect it's great it's fabulous I keep it in the living room I love it that much it's great in every respect added some cool saddlebags and a windshield and the thing looks like a 1966 Triumph
This is one of my favourite motorcycle, I grew up seeing these bikes most of the time, I am sorry to say this, I am not able to hear the thumping sound of 350cc long stroke as it sounded 15 to 20 years ago, maybe because Royal Enfield company might have squeezed the fuel supply, maybe they should be little generous by 25% more fuel, even the vibration above 80kmph(typical Royal Enfield) will be reduced.
@ Good one, now the real fun begins with the upgraded exhaust, enjoy the royal ride, also check out NCR motorcycles in youtube, he installs re bullet 500cc’s carbureter in a re bullet 350cc efi.
I have ridden the 500 Classic, loved it but I reckon the vibes would get to me after a while. Love the J series engine, it’s a wonderful no nonsense engine that oozes character
The wheel is thinner in the back.....just a 120mm width tyre, but the body is big and i feel they are dispropotional to each other....dont you feel so??
@@thomasfeldman3613 Yes, agree, have done a search and can't find much info. Still considering it, and will definitely do a video if I do install a big bore kit.
I currently ride a RE 2021 500 Tribute, and am tempted by this model as well. But Im asking myself, cummon its so similar why bother? Coz it would have to be smoother on the J 350 platform. But then I say 350? really 350 thats a baby. Not to under powered for Melbourne Oz roads? Still cant make up my mind, watcha reckon?
I regularly commute into the Sydney CBD on a 350 Meteor, definitely smoother than the 500 UCE engine in the Classic. I do have to do a short stretch of freeway, about 10kms or so, and it’s no issue as long as you plan any overtakes. In city traffic it’s great, easy to filter, and no dramas getting away from traffic at lights. It’s not going to win any land speed records, but it’s my bike of choice for commuting out of the options I have in the garage. Best bet, take one for a ride.
It's a fantastic looking bike, but I wouldn't ever consider owning one because of the power & weight figures. Don't get me wrong, I love a small low power bike. In fact I have a KTM Duke 200 & Yamaha 225 Scorpio in my garage next to my Aprilia & ride them both regularly. But, while the Royal Enfield Bullet 350 has over 50% more torque than my similarly air cooled Scorpio, it can only manage 1 extra hp despite having a 125 cc capacity advantage. The Bullet 350 also weighs 50 kg more than the Scorpio. Add that up & it leads me to believe that Royal Enfield have deliberately tuned the engine to be under-stressed due to heavier metals & lower quality components used in the engine in comparison to the Scorpio. And that doesn't bode well for its long term reliability.
Thanks for sharing. I think reliability wont be an issue, they have been making these type of lower capacity bikes for years. I have had my Meteor for 3 years now, absolutely no issues at all, although admittedly it hasn’t done a lot of kms, only about 10,000, due me having other bikes and also these press bikes, time will tell I suppose. I will have to check out the Scorpio, it’s not a model I am familiar with.
I have a bullet for last 10 years (with UCE, which isn't that refined as compared to the new J-series one). My uncle and many of his peers have Bullets, which were atleast 3 decades old (CI Engine). So, I don't see reliability is an issue.
@@Antony_Shamarjit_Lee Age is not an indicator of reliability. My Yamaha Scorpio is 16 years old, but it's only done just over 17,000 km, so it's barely been tested. I just sold my '06 Kawasaki ER-6F that'd done just over 100,000 km. A blown Stator was all that I had to replace in the motor in 18 years of ownership. Even the clutch plates are the original factory fitted ones, so that's my baseline expectation for reliability. In contrast, I recently bought an '08 Aprilia Shiver with 66,000 km & it's on its second engine. Admittedly it's had a harder life based on its looks, but the original engine didn't even last 2/3rds of the life of my Kawasaki's before it gave up the ghost & had to be replaced.
Lovely Bike, I just can't believe how Royal Enfield think digital fuel gauge looks good on such a bike, a nice analogue fuel gauge would look so much better. The LCD display just looks wrong on the Royal Enfield bikes.
i think its a ripper little bike that you can use 100% of its power and potential every time cant say that about 90% bikes today mate add some knobbies and yeehaa 👍
I don't understand the " brakes are adequate for the power of the bike" thing. I hear it often in bike reviews. If I'm needing to go from 100km to 0 who the hell cares if the bike has 10hp or 100hp? I need the damage thing to stop. Not do a 0-100 time check. Either the brakes work well or they don't. Horsepower has nothing to do with it. Speed, weight, and traction are what is in play here. Not hp. Not GPS. Not seat height. Just will the dawn thing stop.
That’s a good point, I suppose what I mean is, you are not going to be tearing around at illegal speeds on this bike, so for the speeds it will do, the brakes are good
Any modern bike's brake are powerful enough to stop the bike. The reason sport bikes have big brakes is because they are designed to decelerate hard and accelerate hard repeatedly, within a short timeframe. You can imagine a bike that goes 0-60 in 3 seconds with a top speed of 180 needs to be designed to handle more braking energy than a bike that goes 0-60 in 12 seconds with a top speed of 70. No bike's brakes have to dissipate more power than the engine can produce.
@zachary3777 I understand that. Formula 1 brake demands are (my guess) a thousand times more demanding than a daily driver. But the fact remains that if your sport bike and my put-put bike are both going 70 mph down the highway and we suddenly need to stop to avoid a moose in the road, the breaking needs are the same. In actual real world functionality having 20 hp or 200 hp doesn't matter. Both bikes need their brakes to function equally. So engine size or engine power, as a basis for determining how well the brakes work on a street bike is just hyperbole.
9:30 Maybe stop putting your feet down to the ground as you’re stopping but still in motion, and you won’t bash your shins into the pegs? It’s not a bicycle. You can’t stop it with your feet. It’s a bad habit that any motorcycle instructor would have you end immediately.
Reaching 100kph is wringing it out? Wow.. My own 250 could cruise at 100 and certainly pass at 115--120 if need be..... I never even got to know what it'd do, past 122, cz i don't own full protection (high boots, full leathers etc)...... I'm just surprised that 100 feels like u r nearing th top end, for something thas nearly 100cc more than mine. BUT..... U guys do appear to b having YARDS of fun, which IS what it's all about :) ..... roll on......
The LC is ugly and destroys the appearance of the dash IMO. Looks square and sharp and plastics and it often plays up too. Nice bike tho. If it could go with the Honda CB 350 it would be perfect, but it is limited to 110.. kmh and very slow acceleration for the last 10-15 kmh. Honda 350 can do 125 130 +
Why buy a new one? They are going for cheap prices on the used market. My BSA C-15 250 singles put out more HP and are 100 lbs lighter. They cruise at 60 mph 2 up all day smooth as silk. No electronics waiting to have a expensive failure. EFI makes bikes run hot 🔥🥵 as Hades and cooks the oil to ☠️. Once you replace all the cheap parts it's not a inexpensive bike no more. In the west it's a toy for weekend jaunts. The old 500 had more HP, hydraulic valve adjustment and a kicker. The older bike had more value for the money and lower servicing costs because you don't have to mess with the valve adjustment. All export 350 should have belt drive. Belts last 100,000+ and are cleaner and cheaper than a chain drive.
@@BikerTorque That is still masking a symptom but not addressing the cause. Heat is an engine worst enemy. How many miles are on the bike? My Sportster with a carburetor runs cool in Florida in the summer 🌞⛱️. 200* oil temp. I have had my Sportster for 25 years and 400,000 miles on the original engine and 37 back tires and 17 front ones and 3 belts in 25 years. My daily driver as I don't have a car. No problem with engine heat.

Great bike. I own one and love it
Agree, excellent bike, thanks for watching

9:48 that issue exists in Bajaj Dominor 250 as well.
There’s a few bikes that are like that.
Thanks for the video you two. WIth regard the Meteor, a common criticism is that the seating position has the rear suspension transmitting bumps right up your spine. The more upright position of the Bullet would suggest this issue is not as great for it? Interested in your view on this. Cheers.
Bumping the rear shock preload up 2-3 notches helps a lot
Agree, no real complaints with the rear shock on my Meteor
Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed it. I haven’t had any issues with the rear shock on my Meteor, then again one of my other bikes is a BMW R18, that can give you a reel jolt if you hit a bump.
I think the power is adequate too. And I agree, adding ten more HP, people would want ten more.

@@BikerTorque Ooooh, now I wish I was definitely closer to take a good look at the new Himi. I bet it's amazing, while still feeling old school.
Yes, this bike or any of the RE 650s would do the trick.
If they fit , try the old Honda mirror say from 1980,s CX 500 you can move them without interviewing as they move in a socket, you can get new reproduction ones from david silver spares.

I just put an Emgo tapers exhaust on my meteor, can say the thump is magnificent
@ Good one, now the real fun begins with the upgraded exhaust, enjoy the royal ride, also check out NCR motorcycles in youtube, he installs re bullet 500cc’s carbureter in a re bullet 350cc efi.
@@moderateuzer5247 Putting a carburetor instead of an injector on a good J-series engine is brain degradation. 🐒
The J platform is actually a game changer, have you ridden the precious bullet with a lot of vibs?

I own New J series bullet 350. This mirror problem is real for me
I currently ride a RE 2021 500 Tribute, and am tempted by this model as well.
They just need to bring back the 500 cc.
Not sure that they will, but who knows, we say see a 450, probably liquid cooled though.
@@BikerTorque 450 doesn't have the character of the 350. 450 is high revving machine unlike the torquey thumper 350/500
@@BikerTorque they are testing 650 cc bullet mules here in India 😉
Yes me too I don't quite trust their metallurgy.
@@johnharris7353 time will tell.
Yes an analogue fuel gauge would look good, but honestly I quite like the look of the cluster as it is
Wow just look at those front indicator lights! Truly worlds apart from the Yamaha!
Truly Ash.

@@BikerTorque always entertaining watching your work bro
I don't understand the " brakes are adequate for the power of the bike" thing. I hear it often in bike reviews. If I'm needing to go from 100km to 0 who the hell cares if the bike has 10hp or 100hp? I need the damage thing to stop. Not do a 0-100 time check. Either the brakes work well or they don't. Horsepower has nothing to do with it. Speed, weight, and traction are what is in play here. Not hp. Not GPS. Not seat height. Just will the dawn thing stop.
That’s a good point, I suppose what I mean is, you are not going to be tearing around at illegal speeds on this bike, so for the speeds it will do, the brakes are good
@@BikerTorque I see your point there. Didn't think of it that way. Appreciate your reply.
Try BSA 650, single, 45 bhp, 213 kg
Would love to try one, unfortunately they are not available in Australia

CLASSIC MODEL IS EXCELENT... BECAUSE IT'S SEAT POSSICTION IS VERY UP RIGHT. VINTAGE MODEL IS A DISASTER 💗💗❤
Agree, classic 350 is great
Why buy a new one?
Pretty sure these use a synthetic or semi synthetic oil, doubt it would cook. Same engine as my Meteor, no issues so far after 3 years
@@BikerTorque That is still masking a symptom but not addressing the cause.
