Thank you for your great endorsement, it is much appreciated by all of our volunteer modellers who try hard to bring the past back to life for future generations to enjoy.
Agreed! I live in Canada and have seen many American and Canadian layouts but they cant hold a candle to Pendon Its the lack of historical details that let them down, the likes of Dartmoor and The Vale scene such scenic views let alone the details in the buildings, farms and villages.
Pendon will ALWAYS be my personal standard of excellence to aim for, but never reach. Indeed, there are (or, alas, have been but are no more) some very fine US layouts which also inspire me - but there's something uniquely different about Pendon, both the Vale of the White Horse and the Dartmoor scenes, and the Madder Valley. Having John Ahern's masterpiece on display beside their own marvels perfectly displays how far the hobby has come in 70 years.
/@JohnDavies-cn3ro Sorry for the late reply, but thank you for your very positive endorsement of Pendon. You are of course correct, modeling has evolved greatly and we are so enthused by the number of people who sign up for our courses and of course the enthusiasts who visit us online or in person.

Nice interesting video, this area is local to me and I always enjoy learning more about the history, regards Eddy
Thank you Eddy, your comments are very welcome. Do you ever come to the museum? If not, we would love to see you sometime soon.
Is it possible to buy commercial 1920's models? The only GWR I have seen is Hornby's later models.

Try the Triang clerestory coaches, in GWR, Engineering coach and the LNER Teaks, and then kit bash them into true models, thats what I do.
