thats what this is actually this tails is King T, a lord x-like entity who stole tails' skin and used it as a disguise, and is now actively hunting down sonic, knuckles and eggman, and everyone else in the sonic universe, however since the DS version of sonic 2 only has sonic, knuckles and eggman, he actively hunts them down and takes them out one by one, and makes them repeat the same fate over and over, which drives sonic insane at one point so yeah, sonic is the prey, tails is the predator

it was supposed to be a e-sides design for lord x (e-sides is based on a mod that i contributed to and still am called Salamence's fury, with a few of my friends, thats basically hypno's lullaby but with a few twists!) and since it was rejected, i liked the idea, so i've made him a real character, sayori was also based on this concept, but she got rejected quickly as mx, so me and my old friend made designs for the both of them and then boom my bois were made i mostly just wanted to use tails though since 1. hes my favourite sonic character and 2. it seems funny to have a very distorted tails be like lord x but even worse, since hes usually kind and innocent but TL;DR because it was a scrapped concept
sonic is literally his prey chromatic and tails' is literally a flight or flight tails chrom edited, and his starter one is a custom sonic generations classic tails chromatic i linked in the DESCRIPTION lmao
