I definitely prefer the first two styles. I've always wanted to lean into the baggy style but being 5'1, anything oversized makes me look like a child playing dress up in mommy's clothes so slim/body skimming works like a charm for me. Really love how you break down each style by body type to see what details to look for in a basic piece!

All the ladies looked beautiful in their tops and jeans!! But I so related to the inverted triangle as she explained her jeans issues! In the pre-spandex 70's I had a permanent gouge around my waist! I also have the vast size difference in tops and bottoms. Large tops and small bottoms. Really enjoyed seeing the different body types. Loved your top and how it gave you hips. So flattering on you! 🙂

I can totally relate to Toni, with the exception of the broad shoulders. I am shorter, but slim and have a 32G bust. Most button-downs, including Rails, always gape between the buttons. It was nice to hear her say that because so many influencers speak so highly of the Rail shirts. Thank you Erin, for doing these videos with your friends and letting them speak! 😍

Every video you do is so helpful! Didn't know I needed to assess different types of white shirts! Your friends are lovely and wonderful for helping out. It helps to see the shirt on different body types and hear their strategies on choosing tops. I thought Jody looked particularly good; from her I understand better how to camouflage the area you don't want to broadcast while looking put together. They all looked great in their choices!

A second yes. I am always concerned about how the tucked in shirt looks sideways. I feel it adds bulk. I find that a shorter slimmer shirt with room on top and soft fabric works best. So while reinforcement ( double buttons) are helpful, what we actually need is roomy shoulder/chest cut with slimmer bottoms. Another reasons most dresses are out…
A white shirt paired with khakis are my favorite combination!....so clean and elegant looking!

Hey..love love this video.. white tops are a must for me.. I’m hourglass, but my friend said I was more inverted triangle.. any way thank you ladies, of Telluride.. I am on a road trip, My hubby retired 🥳, So here we go out west. in a 40 ft Coach, which is home away from home. We went into Telluride today.. a little overwhelmed with the crowd today. Finally got to a restaurant. It was okay.. thinking we should try again later in the day before we go on to Durango.Places we were planning on we Closed.. but the scenery on the way from Delores was beautiful..

TEAM TONI! Yes! All of those things! Even Erin gets stumped by ours (inverted). I don't want to carve out a waist- that just accentuates how straight/wide mine is compared to hip ratio. Sm, x sm pants for hips while being crushed by the waist. It's not a tummy thing- not my issue at least. It's my wide waist shape. Larger shoulders, rib cage but small cup size for me. I am an inverted triangular shape as well and what i do is buy high waist stretchy jeans that fits my hips but doest fit my waist. But what i do is stretch the waist out while wet, it works perfectly!

I’m nearly 5’8” and according to your video an hourglass shape, but I’m self conscious of my bum and right now my arms are on the “thicker” side, so I appreciate anything that offers a good drape that is not confining and one that I can cuff via Jenna Lyons, she’s so cool. Lol. When I’m at a more comfortable weight, I just half tuck or belt. For all those reasons, lately I’m drawn to Lysse’s Schiffer Button Down. It actually feels cool to the touch, has 4-way stretch microfiber but it isn’t hot. They’re kind of pricey, but they’re a good quality and hold up well. 👍🏼💖

I recently brought an oversize white linen shirt and and got an old school light denim straight leg jeans for one dollar at an estate sale..love the two together. I discovered that by putting a J Crew oversized white button-down tied at the waist, over a knit tank-top maxi dress, I’ve created a work appropriate outfit that will transition easily into fall. It’s a solid color dress in black, and one in navy and also looks great with a check or print button-down.

I have always had trouble with this. I AM a triangle/hourglass shape with a very long torso. I really need to tuck in the shirt to define my waist, without creating bulk. Although I like the look of the crisp button down, I haven't found any that doesn't create bulk. I usually go to the silk fabric which is very comfortable (but doesn't have that crisp look).
You might like the Rails shirt...it has a soft relaxed feel! xo

I love white button up shirts but tend to prefer sleeveless styles because they give me a better range of motion. I find alot of long sleeve shirts pull tight across my delts to fit properly elsewhere.
I'd love to hear about more companies that offer petite sizes! Some of these brands sound great but I don't think they'd fit me because I am a petite.

Love the white shirt. I wish it was easy to find a white shirt, WITHOUT a pocket. As a full chest, hourglass shape woman, I don't want anything to add to my top part. Also most of my tops are V neck never a high neck crew. As mentioned, a fitted shirt is a must, oversized just makes me look bigger and sloppy on top.

I always thought of myself as an inverted triangle because I am large busted but I have narrow shoulders so maybe I am more a rectangle. I should use the body type video to determine but putting off taking all those measurements.
Anyway, when shopping for shirts, I like to look for v-necks and scoop neck shirts to break up my chest. Also, I like cap sleeves to make my shoulders look broader. I like when the shoulder seem is at the shoulder instead of that baseball style tee that goes in, again to keep me from looking narrower in the shoulders and the broader in the chest. I also look for more stream lined blouses. I mean I don't like any gathering at the bust, neck, or shoulders.
Definitely take your measurements and find out your shape...this can be so helpful! V-neck lines and showing a little bit of skin around the chest is flattering and elongating on all shapes. xo
