Good video but you did not discuss the Program Select button. I need to have zones run on different days and I think the Program select button is supposed to do this.
Sorry, I thought I had included that. Yes you will need multiple programs for that. Are you in the USA ? If so you’re welcome to call me and I’ll walk you thru it
I got my controller working thanks to your video. I'll figure out the other features later. I got the Wi-Fi working by opening the app and following the directions. Is there a Rain Bird app for my Windows PC?
Hey Debra, sorry I forgot to include that info. Turn dial to “run days” Chose desired program by pressing A,B,C button. Hold down left and right arrow at the same time…..odd/ even will appear….chose one and return dial to Auto/Run position Hope that helps great question btw, don’t forget to Subscribe to our Channel for even more help.✌️
a question about watering, I want to measure my watering rates for my sprinklers but most of my zones are using the 5000 series rainbirds and it's difficult to find a spot that is actually consistently hit by the sprinklers. My sprinkler guy tells me they are fine but we always get a few brown spots during the hot dry times and we have to put a sprinkler on a hose to fill in the gaps. Are we using the wrong rotors or are they just not set up correctly?
MichiganWildcat well wish there was an easy answer for this one. I’m going to start with what could causes that in late spring in summer. Sod web worms cause brown spots by eating roots off the grass. No grass, now no shade to the soil= dry spot. Hand water gets better because you’re drowning the larva. Lawn gets better. You stop watering it all starts over. Same for grubs in summer. Look up pics of both on google. Easy fix Scott’s “Summer Guard” fertilizer with pest control, monthly. Larva hatch every 5 weeks. Use “Ironite” on the lawn to speed up recovery on dry areas every 14 days. Cautious of iron spots in pool or on concrete. One last thing, use “Gypsum” on hard clay type soil twice 45 days apart to get better water absorption and less run off. (All products can be found at Lowes or Home Depot) Told ya it was a mouthful. Lol
MichiganWildcat have the Gardner make sure the nozzle size for (90 degree) corner spray is 1/2 the size of (180 degree) 1/2 sprays sprinklers and they should be 1/2 the size of a (360 degree) full circle spray. That’s known as matched precipitation. They all have different travel time to move so, the water (nozzle size) needs to be 1/2 the gallons per minute for the 90 compared to the 180 and likewise the 180 should’ve 1/2 of what the 360 puts out.
Turn the center dial to start time use the + or minus - button s to set the time you want put the dial back into Auto/Run position. what does that beauty retail for? I've got a ESP that I'd like to replace with a WiFi capable controller that can run at least 9 zones and if I remember correctly you said this one can handle 10? The folks that take care of my system currently said 230 dollars for a new WiFi controller but it isn't RainBird and not to be a sprinkler snob but I like my RainBird equipment! LOL so I'd like to stay with it.
MichiganWildcat, actually it can handle 12 zones. I’ll check on pricing tomorrow. There’s the cost of the Timer then the additional receiver module. Rainbird the easiest to use vs Hunter. I’ll do a video on the Hunter timer next
MichiganWildcat hi, my cost 12 zone timer in Ca. Wholesale, Timer $239.00 with the WiFi receiver includes tax. Make sure he’s quoting with the $69 receiver too.
You ffwd past Run Days setting. Then went to Sensor. Maybe you can redo the video at some point and not skip the Run Days setting. That is the one I needed to learn. Thanks.
hello great video, i want to know how i make just 1 zone, right now i have 2 zones but it have a few rotors in each so i want to mix then two in just one thanks in advance
Hi, a bit confusing. If you just want to run 1 zone then zero out the run times for the other, now only 1 will run. If you want both to run but only 1 time each then only set 1 start time.
You need to go to the App Store and download the Rainbird app... Next- choose ESP TM-2 controller Then follow the steps to connect to your WiFi- requiring you to have knowledge of your WiFi password.
MARIA GUERRERO Yes, I see that now. Sorry I wasn’t feeling well that day. To set: Go to water days with the dial, you should see Monday blinking (that’s where you are at to move from) choose plus or minus hit the arrow go to Tues, hit plus or minus until you finish at Sunday. You can also move using the arrows to the right side past Sunday and choose odd, even or interval (that’s if you wanted to ex. Water every 2 days regardless of whether it’s odd or even. Hope that helped, I’ll need to redo that video, thanks. Hope you can Subscribe to our Channel I like people that have great comments. I will remake the video before the end of the year.
Richard sorry I wasn’t aware I was going too fast, you might try Rainbird and see if they went slower. You’re the first person to make me aware of this, I’ll slow down a bit in the future👍
That looks like a great timer for future replacement projects, and thanks for the video.
Everything home repair, I agree the next video will be how to make it WiFi and program with the app
Great video... thanks for sharing..

Will do, thank you!
Thank you again! I will put the Summer Guard down next then follow up with some ironite.

Thought I'd check in and see if you found a price on this timer?
MichiganWildcat hi, my cost 12 zone timer in Ca. Wholesale,
Timer $239.00 with the WiFi receiver includes tax. Make sure he’s quoting with the $69 receiver too.
Thank you, i'll find out what's actually included in the quote and what brand of controller.
I have set up 2 start time, one at 5pm and one at 6am, how do I cancel the 5 pm one?
Scroll using the plus and minus buttons until you get to midnight. Between 11:45 and midnight is the off position
You ffwd past Run Days setting. Then went to Sensor. Maybe you can redo the video at some point and not skip the Run Days setting. That is the one I needed to learn. Thanks.
Turn dial to run days and use the + or - buttons to chose the days you want on.
BTW really appreciate you being that to my attention.👍

Where do you get the password?
You need to go to the App Store and download the Rainbird app...
Next- choose ESP TM-2 controller
Then follow the steps to connect to your WiFi- requiring you to have knowledge of your WiFi password.
I’m also assuming you have already installed the LNK WiFi module 1st
You skipped Run Days, especially Cycles and glossed over WiFi set-up.
Robert Babcock ya I know didn’t realize that until after I sold the unit. I’m in the process of redoing the video as I was sick when doing this video.
Robert Babcock I appreciate the comment by the way.
You skipped the run days😣

Too fast explaining need to slow down what’s the hurry you’re trying to show people how to do this I forget it’s not you you’re on UA-cam
