It's truly difficult to find someone who is not only a good artist but a good teacher as well and has the ability to clearly articulate what he is trying to convey. You do this very well and so succinctly. There are no wasted words or time in all of your tutorials that I have watched. Many allow you to watch them paint but don't really discuss the many aspects of making a painting especially when it comes to color and the mixing of it. You do all of this very well and very precisely. I truly applaud your efforts. Anyone watching can't help but become a better artist and painter. Bravo, sir!!
Steven McDowell Indeed, nigh impossible, honestly. I've met many incredible artists whom couldn't even begin to instruct you on how to actually create a painting. It's hard to take countless years of experience, technique, theory, and mistakes and condense it into a coherent lesson plan. That's why most art teachers tend to be so oblique when it comes to, you know, actually teaching. A rare quality, for sure.
What I love about Andrew's videos is that they are so giving. He shares knowledge, beauty, skill, technique, philosophy, wisdom, and other artists that inspire him. I've found that I paint better when I just put his videos on to listen to, even when I don't watch the visual part. The passion, dedication, and inspiration in his words drives me to want to perfect my work in a zen rather than a zealous manner. And of course it's incredibly humbling to see the level of expertise he has achieved, and very aspirational.
I love watching and listening to you Andrew, you are such an inspiration. Since i bought your DVD on portraits i have watched it over and over again and i have nearly completed my first portrait. I went to art college in my youth and i was never taught like this, it is like opening up a new world. I have learned so much on the mixing of colours which was always a mystery especially for painting skin. I wish you had been around 40 years ago. Thank you for sharing your gift.
I wish I had a vocabulary as dynamic as your incredible art and instructions to convey my appreciation of your talents. I stumbled on to one of your UA-cam videos and did not stop watching until I had viewed every one of them--at one sitting. I've been using acrylics but your magnificent artwork and tutorials have stimulated and inspired me to try oils. Thank you so much for sharing. How does someone so young yet experienced manage to translate such advanced knowledge and insight! I love your presentations and your hats! Thank you.
Agreed, I am in love with this goat scull painting!!! Love how it's laid out and arranged....the color pallet is great!! It has such a dark, gothic nature, that just comes across as something that could have been painted centuries ago. I am also loving the way he talks the viewer through the process of how he is painting this. I've come to really enjoy his way of explaining and teaching, and really makes me want to start oil painting again.
Absolutely stunning! So grateful for the longer videos not to mention the fact that you take time to tape, edit and post.....your teaching style is detailed, interesting and engaging...thank you....
Evokes and pays tribute to the great Dutch still lifes, I love how you keep the spirits of the old masters alive, obviously their spirits lives on through you, you are so generous with your process and your mark making techniques. Speaking on behalf of new artists watching these videos you make help remove a lot of mystery to painting. As I gain more brush mileage then going back and re-watching your videos gives me even more clarity, thank you Andrew
Andrew this is an amazing wealth of knowledge! In school we would arrive to find the desks circled around a bunch of items on a table and were told to get to work. That’s it. Nothing. No instructions whatsoever. Your whole process of setting up a still life....well I had no idea!! And your thought processes as you painted were very helpful as well. Thank you for sharing all of this!
An incredibly beautiful composition that has kept me coming back to this video for years now. I've been following you for a while, I just don't write much. Andrew, I love the harmony of colors and shapes in this image. Maybe I'll give it a try soon, although I'll never achieve your skills, I'm very grateful to you for your instructions and for sharing them with us. Wish you the best from Germany
I like the careful soft voice in the video. Great use of explaining how to compose with actual objects before making a photo and then painting. The use of dominant warm and then minor cool light really pulls the shadows together. I like the b-roll on finding mushrooms to paint with and later explanation of the color combinations and brushes used.
And now I need one more thing in this painting. Then the smoke softly and swiftly curls into the air and drifts around the edges of the beautifully designed and painted flowers while caressing the tips of a skull. Something only a Masterful artist can achieve. AMAZING..SIMPLY AMAZING. Thank you so very much for sharing this.
If God is real it is possible to have life whithout hitting that boundry which atheists hit: the scientific impossibility that nothing created everything. This must mean that life is impossible without someone being outside time, space and matter, if God is outside of everything because he created everything means that God doesnt need to be born, God doesnt need air, time, dimensions to exist. The psalmist says“Thy throne is established of old: thou art from everlasting.” - Psalms 93:2 (KJV) Everlasting in the Hebrew is Owlam, so God is from Owlam, or in other words God is outside of limits, he is outside of time, God is almighty, alknowing, all powerful and spoke this creation into existence he is this powerful, the DNA is his handywork, time obeys his voice, the rocks cry out to him in silence, the trees stretch forth their branches to him, the birds sing his praise. He is in full control of everything in existence because he is the creator of ALL THINGS. When God created Man he created Man in his own image, he gave man a consiounce and knowledge of right and wrong, the Lord made Eve for Adam, he knew Adam needed a help meet for him, this also is another way God created man in his image because the word ADAM means more than Just a name, it means all humans when you look at it in the Hebrew which it was written. God made Earth for man and beast, and insects and birds, he made them and it was very good. God even let Adam and Eve be one flesh married and gave them the privelage of reproduction and filling up the earth which God had made. But remember God gave man free will, he did this in love so we can choose to obey him or not, since you may know man didobeyed God, and man was seperated from God's safety, so this is where death, and punishment came from, sin. For sin to be cleansed from man you need a living sacrifice to take Man's sins on itself and put the sin to death. Many religions make people think they can earn mercy from God, this is what cain did if you remember, he trued to give plants to God, when it is when another takes your sin is what really saves you. Basically you cannot earn God's mercy, because its not just, its not right. Noone knows when they will die, tonight when you walk home you could pass out and in an instant your geart could stop and you will be standing before a holy God who Will rightly judge sin. When you crossover to that eternal state where theyre is no going back, on the great day God judges all creation , the prophecy has been spoken. “And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.” - Revelation 20:15 (KJV) The question is not why would God send people to such a place, the question is why wouldnt God rightly judge sin on his standards? Religion cannot save you from being cast alive, damned for eternity into everlasting darkness abd sorrows and suffering frkm the lake lf fire and brimstone. God understands the effect of sin on all creation, thats why he himself stepped down from his throne into fleshh 2000 years ago as Jesus Christ of Nazareth, the sinless sacrifice sent by the God the Father to be beaten beyond human recognition and nailed to a cross to hang and be tormented in all ways, carrying your sins, and even your punishment for sin was placed upon him and he endured your punishnent on that cross and Said "It is finished" and gave up the ghost. When he said these words, it is finished he could have also been saying that justice has been served, your punishment has been met but on him, and then remember he rose again, even the grave couldn't hold the Son of God, John 3 (KJV) ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ ³⁵ The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand. John 3 ³⁶ He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. Now I encourage you, you still have time, swallow your pride and humble yourself before God, confess you are a sinner and ask for forgiveness. God will grant you eternal life and now you are saved, turn from your old lifestyle and Iive for Christ:)
This is a magnificent video! The camera work and production, your obvious passion, the way you communicate your methods, the art, this has it all! Definitely the best video of its type on you tube IMHO! Thank you for your efforts, can well imagine the work that went into this. Very inspiring. Really looking forward to seeing more of them. Joe.
Thank you for sharing your wonderful talent and vast knowledge with us. This is what art videos should be like on UA-cam instead of those speeded up things that teach nothing and only serve to swell the ego of the artist. I have learned so much from watching your videos - its obvious you are one of the top artists in the world.
Andrew you are a Great Teacher, You Create Inspiration,. and enthusiasm for me. Your Tutorials on the tupe & DVD`s are very well done. As a much older Artist, daily learning is important with reminder of past knowledge. The Rx to Mental Health and staying young, Bless You.
I actually feel I learn more here than from digital painters on UA-cam. There are so many digital painters who are good, but _very_ lazy. I really enjoy how much effort and expertise are going into this painting!
I think the cut of light in the middle of the backdrop the cold dusty light reflecting off the lamp and the gostly smoke frame it with a touch of haunting serenity. I don't mean to be a bit much but I'm already drawn in by the idea of still life of dead and broken things. A bit of a pun really, because it's not alife anymore, but it's humerous to death and poetic in a way.
I tried to sign up for an evening college art class years ago but couldn't. I am in my 60's now and have been painting and drawing my whole life-never gave it up even after leaving childhood, but with no formal training. I have always been into Dali/surreal stuff but when I saw your painting of Russell Petherbridge episode 1, & episode 4, a whole new way of looking at painting has me wanting to try other topics/methods, or use this knowledge for the surreal that I like. Thank you for your teaching. I am so glad I just happened to accidentally see your video. You have made me happy and smarter. Please keep up the good works and God Bless.
I enjoyed this immensely, AT. I don't paint with black either. Your dark scull is nicely contrasted with life making the theme appealing to a wide audience. You paint what you see, no cop-outs. That's what I've been searching for. Thank you.
I agree with all of the below - this is the best oil painting UA-cam channel I've ever come across! All that time and effort in the editing and the filming of this really pays off and this is definitely one of your best works to date! Love watching you put in all the details at the end to make the base layers pop. I think a lot of artists when they start out paint one section fully at a time - e.g. They'll do the base and all the detail of one small portion at a time - but it often leads to paintings looking a bit disjointed. Thank you so much again for another amazing video!
Thank you so much Elizabeth! I really appreciate the kind words, and I must say that it's because of wonderful people like you, and the other subscribers that make this journey so special. It's a pleasure to make this content for you. I agree with you about the disjointed approach, that's why a solid underpainting is essential!
I truly appreciate the time you take to really zoom in and show exactly what is going on with your brushstrokes. Paint has always been a magic wand, converting a 2 dimensional surface into a believable, 3 dimensional vision. Your narration is easy to listen to, aids in the instruction (as opposed to distracting from it!), and your tips on what you're using to create the colors helps with understanding how to produce the colors you see.Unfortunately, I've become addicted to these videos, but inspired enough to have them running in the background as I work on my own skills. Thank you for posting these. If you're ever in the US, would love to watch you paint in person. Paint on! Hugs :-)
Well that was quite an amazing video . I actually was all tense watching it, holding my breath and my fingers twitching .Don’t think I’ll ever attempted something like this, don’t have the lightings , studio and many other things. But I can still learn and use the techniques in a simpler paintings. . I’ve learned so much. Love the twisting of the brushes, already using that with two tone paint as in your pumpkins on hay bales. Will be going back to this tutorial many times. Many than Thanks.
your absolutely brilliant... the way you explain..the 'sound' of your voice.. how you do things. I could go on waxing lyrical all day .. Thank you so much for sharing.
This tutorial gave me warm fuzzies. It blows my mind that it is even possible for someone to paint something this close to real life. You are a legend. It would be so cool to meet you one day. You've inspired me so much to continue working on my own journey of becoming an artist. Thank you so much for making these videos. I could watch them all day!
As a designer I understand lighting, texture and creative thought. Now as a new student to painting and creating life through art I really appreciate your approach. I have found that you expand my mind and fire up the creative side of me and challenge me to not be afraid to add my soul to my work. For this, I thank you.
Your painting is outstanding!! I adored watching your video and the fact that you gave us a glimpse into your process. Congratulations for your determination and hard work!! I liked how you spent a lot of time trying to get the best composition, your patience within the process and how you walked us through. Also, the candle with the smoke was a very nice touch and the element that gave the painting a sense o whole. The dramatism whithin the painting expresses so much, and I personally think that is the final goal of a good painter, to make the viewer feel something.
I’m taking my first painting class and working with oil for the very first time. I hope to achieve something close to your first study by the end of the class. I feel a little less anxious having a clear goal in mind that doesn’t feel terribly ambitious but that I might surprise myself and surpass. Thank you so much for these videos. I’m an incredibly anxious artist and being able to binge your content before the semester started and now, when I’m forced out of the studio by the weekend and the nerves are catching up to me, is so settling.
Hi, Mr Tischler, I never thought Id ever have a painting that would be a museum peace of work, but as I watch your episodes, I feel a genuine since of total loss, as I have been trying to teach myself by watching other artists, not even close to your level, but I like the realism, you in corporate in your work. Can you actually get to this level on your own, or is there college involved. I enjoy your masterpieces, and will try hard to work with the information you give during your online programs. there so reel. I think I will always have a problem with showing depth, in my paintings, thank you for sharing your talents, and your training.
No matter what I comment, it won't give this justice. The whole time I was watching this I was just in awe. I am genuinely lost for words. This is absolutely breathtaking. You are an absolute inspiration.
Andrew you are amazing teacher and artist.I wish you nothing but the best, keep up the great work and amazing videos for us to give us a motivation to be inspired by your work, and the feelings and mind and your soul that you put into every painting you paint.God bless you can't wait for more videos to come.
Words fail me, but you are more than just an amazing artist!! The planning, detail and all the preparation that goes before painting, makes you a true professional. I do hope that you get very handsomely rewarded for all your master pieces. Thank you .......
A great painting and tutorial. I now do not worry about how long I take in planning and setting up a still life. I understand how consideration of lighting is just as important as the composition of objects. You are an inspiration.
I’m VERY new to this channel. I’m still lost for words. I just wanted to say you’re my hero. Just the tone, attitude and your personality makes all these videos so genuine. I appreciate you sharing all your secrets to us. Thank you so much!!!!!!!!!!!
The details ..colors ... the intricacies involved to produce an amazing still life ! Wonderful documentation! Learn a lot watching your videos. Thanks Cant wait for another upload
This was the most informative and most interesting Art Tutorial I have ever seen, the way you painted violet thistles and leaves of the Artichokes was totally amazing, (I didnt even know that artichokes had violet thistle flowers) the whole composition totally inspirational, never been a fan of still life before but now am totally hooked and can appreciated all the intricate detail that has gone into this particular one. Thank you so much Andrew, cant wait to see more. Debs in Spain
Just Wow! The painting is utterly Breathtaking! So much information in 40min of instruction this video will deserve quite a few rewatches! Thank you so much!
Stunning! Thank you❤ I love the feeling you give to your painting, even though you are painting a skull, it doesnt have to be grungey. This is so inspiring! I really really love it!!
HI Andrew Glad to see you back with usI as was getting worried about you ,but I guess you have been busy . Your DVDs sons good I may have one later but at this moment in time I am packing up my house and relocating to the Uk where I hope to start my painting again. I use Rose Mary & co brushes and find them very good . At this moment I recently went to Madrid to see the Prado and while I was there I also took in The Soller house which is now a museum and his studio is just as he left it you are allowed to go into it .very inspiring also his paintings are there to see . Keep up the good work Frank
Hi Andrew, you’re truly inspiring and an incredible artist. Thank you for making want to continue painting, and sharing your knowledge. Cheers . - Hax .
Absolutely beautiful, my friend!! People will be staring in awe at this painting 500 years from now! Stunning work. Thanks for sharing. All the best, Sean
You know i dont just enjoy your works, i am also fascinated with your personality. You just tell us all that you know and beeing very sincere.Seriously, thank you.
Amazing artist, amazing painting. Magnolia grandiflora. Bloom the size of your open hand and smells of lemon. Brilliant composition. Love these videos.
Hey Andrew, Me being a Classical Still Life painter, I most tell you my dear colleague you hit it right on the nose with this spectacular demonstration... Thank you and congratulations, really enjoyed this presentation! Wigal.
This painting is out of this world! I love the way you teach and your attention to details. I have gone from oil to watercolor but still love to see a great artist do his or her thing.
ok,so after watching some of this guy's vids i must ask the ppl..is any 1 here knows another such totally insane guy on the UA-cam? coz i dont . dude u are totally crazy! and u must be a genius. Just keep in mind..that not many people can make a table From wood and frames..and ur studio is a dream of every artist on planet, and i have no idea where from you taking so much energy for all this LOTS of things you are doing and making..and reading and cleaning..and u even do sports.. common u are insane! I am totally shocked and you are so brilliant (and seriously where all the energy from?) and every each of ur vids is like blessing from some GODS OF ART, thank you so much..and bow before you.
Firstly, your eyebrows are on point. Secondly I’ve never seen any thing so hauntingly beautiful. I absolutely have to make a still life composition as soon as possible. Thank you so much
There are lots of artist video’s... hundreds and hundreds, maybe thousands. The issue is quality videos not meaning the talent of the artist but the quality and content of the video. I have gotten where I just don’t have the patience to watch someone speed paint and receive no instruction at all to help me as to what they are doing. It’s okay to do that through repetitive parts but not beginning to end. And videos that are mostly sales to get you to buy other things. Or videos of paintings that are 1/2 completed before we start watching and basically we need to buy a dvd etc to find out how the first part or the end was created. Lots of videos, but also some are difficult to follow, really good artist, but I’m worn out trying to follow all the distractions and interruptions or stopping and starts about other subjects. We have all seen them. Andrew gets down to business..maybe a little less ads would be nice... the Google ads and then his ads... a bit much sometimes but and a huge but..is he provides such top quality instruction during the rest of the video, that I don’t mind so much. Everyone has to make money and he gives us a lot of time in explaining as he works, or on specific topics like the brushes, mediums, etc. For those who can’t add one more dollar to their budget, it’s great to have information from a serious artist for free. There are a number who really provide top quality from talent, videography, instruction, time spent discussing, product reviews and the list goes on. As I said hundreds+ of videos out there, just not all top quality. But these are free and we have to keep that in mind and be appreciative. Even the worst video has some worth.. it teaches you what not to do! Again, thank you Andrew.
With artists like you, and the tech advancements in the art/painting industry, I am so blessed to have started with oils in the past 6 months. With the most awesome brushes(tisch daggers, ivory daggers, filberts, pointed rounds) mediums, and oil paints available to me! Seems like just a few years, there were some voids in the art world that have been filled! Thanks to artists like you Andrew, I feel like i have advanced 5 years, in the past 6 months! And I'm excited for the future :) thankyou!
Love, love this. Andrew, thanks for sharing all this information, you are a nice guy and extremely talented. Are you picking fresh flowers - if so, some fresh flower florist designing tips might help - removing any leaves that might be under water, then properly conditioning your flowers and picking them at the right time, using flower tubes and flower prep (its food and bacterial preventative to keep the flower as fresh for as long). Some flowers require like poppies require burning, singing the ends to stop the milky sap from flowing, blocking up the stem, or just causing the flower to die quickly. Others you have to trim underwater to prevent an air bubble, and others doesn’t matter. Keeping at right temps overnight, some want cool or room temp, some need pretty warm water to be revived. Ethylene gas produced by even one or two apples, or other fruit etc can cause them to go over fast, as can fumes of gas, turpentine, paints, etc. so storing them out of the studio at night can help. Also, maybe taking detailed photos, removing the flowers when not painting, and placing into vase of flower prep solution and cutting a 1/4-1/2” off the stem under water and leaving in the solution until you place them in fresh solution in water tubes and put back in the still life. If you are using from florist shop, then all you need to worry is the daily care (trimming the stem, replacing the solution and when painting, putting tubes on the end with fresh solution. Remove at the end of the painting and put back in vases with enough solution to cover the bare stems. Leaves you get at any florist for free basically- they are throwing them away. I know this sounds like a pain but it really isn’t once you figure out.. any florist shop can help. You can buy solution concentrate and mix up as needed. There are plenty of articles and videos online on flower prep for folks who are arrangement designers. But also, have you thought about artificial flowers. There are some really good ones out there...your florist might be able to help if they do artificial arrangements. I realize you aren’t in the states but I just watched a video of one that’s one of the last in the country handmade just like they did hundred years ago. Just beautiful artificial ones of fabric (silk, velvets, etc), paper, etc. with old molds. I’m sure you have something similar or just going online to artificial flower retailers. They can create anything someone wants. Will they be cheap... sure not. But they might have flowers that don’t sell and they need to move, or they might have older displays ready to get rid of that might create the mood, might know designers that use and decide to get rid of to get fresh ones, etc. I have hand dyed artificial myself when old and faded. Flea markets, etc. Or if you work with one of these companies, , and mention their name in UA-cam as popular as you are... might work a good deal on prior year flowers etc. The video and company I was talking about I believe I saw on a gown being recreated for the Albert and Victoria Museum I think... Can’t go check while watching you. But will try to find and come back here to edit. ua-cam.com/video/UTWsDC24IIw/v-deo.html Note, the Victoria and Albert Museum (UK) has some amazing how to videos of how art related mostly items were created centuries ago. All kinds of things including painting. See their YT Channel. I realize you did an amazing painting without any of the craziness of above but just wanted to provide some ideas that maybe could help with more time to paint them without dying or a way to have the look without live at all. There are some amazing artificial ones out there.
Thank you for giving us a longer painting video. It was very generous and a great sampling of what to expect from a purchase. I definitely want to invest in your videos as money becomes available.
Beautiful. The communication of stillness and sadness, the theme of beauty juxtaposed with the spectre of death and the varied tones and depths as well as the gorgeous almost spiritual glowing halo effect above the lantern touching the magnolia and the skull. This is a truly remarkable piece. Thank you sir!
Wow. Just.. .. .. wow. What an amazing piece. And a great lesson. Thank you for the in depth descriptions of your thought processes from setting it up to color choices to finishing touches. I've thoroughly enjoyed every one of your videos. Thank you, Andrew.
I have been waiiting and hoping for someone like you all the time I was in Art academy. Which offered no technical classes on painting or drawing, and rather frowned upon students wanting to start their journey with a good selection of technical skills. Learned everything from books, practical experience and eventually youtube.
Hey Andrew, hope things work out well for you in NZ, and you settle in quickly. There is a lot of stunning landscape there for you to get your teeth into. Keep us updated on how your new studio is coming along, and looking forward to the landscape tutorial you have in the works.

Steven McDowell I so agree with you. Andrew is such a great teacher. Can't wait to try to attempt paint something like this. I ve learned so much

“Now that i’m finished with this sketch” okay ummm that’s a full blown masterpiece but allright
Best tutorials without being pretentious and too intellectual! Purely educational!!!!! I’m going to start painting in oils again haven’t for years

This is easily one of the most beautiful still life paintings I've ever seen. The composition is incredible!

Masterpiece. Brings tears to my eyes.
Thank you. Wonderful teachings.
'Communicate any sense of reality.' This could be the essence of painting and when you think of it can have a very very deep and esoteric meaning.

Wow! My head hurts! It is tremendous to watch you work. Very gorgeous.
The level of commitment into one painting is wild. Hats off to extreme discipline for excellent results as well as a great class.

Noone knows when they will die, tonight when you walk home you could pass out and in an instant your geart could stop and you will be standing before a holy God who
Will rightly judge sin.
When you crossover to that eternal state where theyre is no going back, on the great day God judges all creation , the prophecy has been spoken. “And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”
- Revelation 20:15 (KJV)
The question is not why would God send people to such a place, the question is why wouldnt God rightly judge sin on his standards?
When he said these words, it is finished he could have also been saying that justice has been served, your punishment has been met but on him, and then remember he rose again, even the grave couldn't hold the Son of God,
John 3 (KJV)
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
³⁵ The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand.
John 3
³⁶ He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
Now I encourage you, you still have time, swallow your pride and humble yourself before God, confess you are a sinner and ask for forgiveness.
God will grant you eternal life and now you are saved, turn from your old lifestyle and Iive for Christ:)
Thanks Andrew, it's great to see the "old hairy" you. Hoping all is well in your life. Including your health. Amazing instruction. Appreciate you!
i have no words to express beauty of your hyperrealism painting.wonderfull.
Joe.
Thanks so much for the feedback!!! Glad you are enjoying the content. :)
Thank you for sharing your wonderful talent and vast knowledge with us. This is what art videos should be like on UA-cam instead of those speeded up things that teach nothing and only serve to swell the ego of the artist. I have learned so much from watching your videos - its obvious you are one of the top artists in the world.
Wow, thank you Roger!
To watch you construct a still life from the start and continue to the finish, brilliant!
A tour de force still life. Truly impressive. Very enjoyable and informative video as well.
This still life would be a great addition to the full-length tutorials.
Amazing Artist Andrew...all Capital A! Awesome! What a wonderful teacher, too!
I enjoyed this immensely, AT. I don't paint with black either. Your dark scull is nicely contrasted with life making the theme appealing to a wide audience. You paint what you see, no cop-outs. That's what I've been searching for. Thank you.
That wispy smoke is a nice touch ❤❤❤
I don't want to fail to mention the close-ups of your work that you provide is priceless! Thank you.
Thanks Emily!
As a designer I understand lighting, texture and creative thought. Now as a new student to painting and creating life through art I really appreciate your approach. I have found that you expand my mind and fire up the creative side of me and challenge me to not be afraid to add my soul to my work. For this, I thank you.
Thanks so much for the comment Goldie!
I have never loved a still life like I love this still life. Thank you for continually inspiring.
Andrew, I could watch your art all day every day...it makes me desire to pick up a brush again. Thank you.
Excellent! Go get that brush! :)
Even your block-in stage is something to aspire to!
Thanks again for sharing your mastery. I studied painting for 10 yrs but never ever learned the essentials. Back to square one, . 👏👏👏
Can you actually get to this level on your own, or is there college
involved.
Thanks heaps for the comment!
Words fail me, but you are more than just an amazing artist!! The planning, detail and all the preparation that goes before painting, makes you a true professional. I do hope that you get very handsomely rewarded for all your master pieces. Thank you .......
Definitely you haven´t buried your talent.
Interesting choices, I have never seen an artichoke flower, so much information, wow!
You're unselfishness is remarkable! God bless you!
Thanks Andrew for this video - because there is always something you can look at and learn, a process of painters never ending lg. from Austria
This is a true artist not the BS found in so called modern art galleries. Andrew, you are a genius!
I look forward to these videos every time, and you didn't disappoint! Keep painting!
Thank you Molly!
The details ..colors ... the intricacies involved to produce an amazing still life !
Wonderful documentation!
Learn a lot watching your videos. Thanks
Cant wait for another upload
Cheers vikas!
His paintings are so detailed that makes it satisfying
HI Andrew
Glad to see you back with usI as was getting worried about you ,but I guess you have been busy .
Frank you may have missed the previous 2 videos as well! Thanks for the comment mate!
Hi Andrew, you’re truly inspiring and an incredible artist. Thank you for making want to continue painting, and sharing your knowledge. Cheers . - Hax .
Your calming narrative, while watching the progression of your painting is better than Xanax.
Absolutely beautiful, my friend!! People will be staring in awe at this painting 500 years from now! Stunning work. Thanks for sharing.
All the best,
Sean
Thanks so much for the comment sean!
You are my new favorite artist!
The best painting video I have seen so far. ......big hearts Sir....Hats off
This is a masterwork. I would say that the red roses steal focus from the rest of the canvas
You know i dont just enjoy your works, i am also fascinated with your personality. You just tell us all that you know and beeing very sincere.Seriously, thank you.
I m crying. This is so beautiful. Andrew, you are so talented. Thank you so much for such a detailed lesson. Thank you
Amazing artist, amazing painting.
Wigal.
Thanks so much for the comment Wigal!
Thank you so much for sharing these amazing techniques. Currently I am working on horns and it is quite a challenge . This tutorial taught me a lot.
This painting is out of this world! I love the way you teach and your attention to details. I have gone from oil to watercolor but still love to see a great artist do his or her thing.
Thanks Kathy
You must have such a nice feeling inside when you step back and look at your creation.
ok,so after watching some of this guy's vids i must ask the ppl..is any 1 here knows another such totally insane guy on the UA-cam? coz i dont . dude u are totally crazy! and u must be a genius.
Thank you so much
Fantastic painting, great instruction and for desert no obnoxious music. Well done 👍
Fantastic work.
I'm so greatful you upload these videos, you fill a void within UA-cam. Extremely few artists art videos.
Thanks MindGem!
This painting melted my heart.
But will try to find and come back here to edit. ua-cam.com/video/UTWsDC24IIw/v-deo.html
Note, the Victoria and Albert Museum (UK) has some amazing how to videos of how art related mostly items were created centuries ago. All kinds of things including painting. See their YT Channel.
I realize you did an amazing painting without any of the craziness of above but just wanted to provide some ideas that maybe could help with more time to paint them without dying or a way to have the look without live at all. There are some amazing artificial ones out there.
Best video on UA-cam, best still life painting I’ve ever seen in my time, period. Thanks for everything. Learnt so much!
Thank you for giving us a longer painting video. It was very generous and a great sampling of what to expect from a purchase. I definitely want to invest in your videos as money becomes available.
Exquisite, from the paint work to the video production.
Enormous quality, clarity and generosity from you part.
Thank you very much Andrew!
One of the most interesting and thorough demonstrations you could hope for. Tremendous.
A masterpiece , a magic time !
Excellent! Wonderful still life!
Wow. Just.. .. .. wow. What an amazing piece. And a great lesson. Thank you for the in depth descriptions of your thought processes from setting it up to color choices to finishing touches. I've thoroughly enjoyed every one of your videos. Thank you, Andrew.
A beautiful painting by a Master.
Watching your videos i become pretty excited and at the same time depressed. OMG love your art and your everything. Damn. So cheering!
Hi Andrew you are a superb painter and an excellent teacher
I have been waiiting and hoping for someone like you all the time I was in Art academy. Which offered no technical classes on painting or drawing, and rather frowned upon students wanting to start their journey with a good selection of technical skills. Learned everything from books, practical experience and eventually youtube.
Second time watching this.....such a gorgeous painting and watching your process, is a delight!
Hey Andrew, hope things work out well for you in NZ, and you settle in quickly. There is a lot of stunning landscape there for you to get your teeth into. Keep us updated on how your new studio is coming along, and looking forward to the landscape tutorial you have in the works.
Of course you can use it !!
So interesting project and a stylish classy painting with superb setup, 5/5
Insane still life painting Andrew! Your my inspiration in painting!
I really enjoy watching you paint. I've learn a lot just by watching you. Thank you.
