I agree with the feelings of conviction paired with the realization that I need to grow in a certain area before expecting it from my children!

I bought Laying Down the Rails because of you. We've been doing it during lunch and with my husband since he's been working from home since March. We're doing attention as our first habit. Yesterday my husband led us in a beautiful discussion and it made my heart full and happy.

Yes! The mornings I have the will power to Be up before my kids I never regret it. It makes me a better mom through out the day. A basket like this with different categories of what I need would be great

Sweet Sister, I am just now listening to your video and I totally relate to your experience of suffering from lack of sleep from anxiety over your relative.
I went through something similar and have never suffered from sleeplessness.
Praying of course and listening to SCRIPTURE LULLABIES literally gave me peace also listening to scripture like Psalms and laying in bed with that on. Praying for you and your precious family ❤❤❤

I'm sending you my prayers for your rest. I have never commented but I had to say that I've struggled with sleep for many years. I've tried so many different things - all the things!- but hands down one of the most helpful things I ever did was to create such a basket for myself. So important to feel comforted and supported in the night time. Just having it at your bedside brings peace. Another thing is that it passes. You will rest well soon.

I started my own morning basket right about the time of all the craziness happening. I have a devotion by sally clarkson, triggers (I just finished that today), my bible study I am doing, and i also have a craft in there because it brings me joy! Right now I have crochet, embroidery and watercolors I switch between. I love the idea of adding something more intellectual in!

Yes please do more of these type of videos! Habit training is one of those areas where it’s not straightforward, as much as it is this new adventure I find myself on in homeschooling... that I had no idea I was signing up for!
I really appreciate all the input and think it would also be a great continuing resource as the ‘new’ homeschoolers this time has produced as they get deeper in and adding the layers that we all do after the initial basics are covered.

I read my Bible before bed in a quiet setting with quiet worship music and some chamomile tea. It’s my routine every night. My hubby even set me up a little desk nook in the corner of our room with candles etc...it’s sooo peaceful! And I always remember Gods promise: he gives his beloved rest: psalms 💗

That is a wonderful idea of the CS Lewis books! My husband and I have a difficult time reading devotionals as well because my husband has a hard time with that type of style of writing. So we just read the Bible also and do a lot of listening and watching Matt Chandler. This will be such an great thing for my hubby and I thank you!! We have also done the power of a praying bible study together when we were engaged. The power of a praying woman is what reconnected my spirit with God and I hold it closely to every season I’m in. I always gift it to others because it’s just so good. I like Gloria Furman’s books too.

I have a mama basket and a mama shelf and so do each of my kids. We do books for subjects in school so each kid has a shelf of upcoming books and so do I. We also have a group shelf and a group basket so as we work through the books I can just add in things already to go on the working bookcase, everything else not up for this year is on a seperate shelf except for bible materials and devos have their own home do they are always on the working shelf too. And we have a library shelf too. I'm currently going through Paul Washer Knowing the Living God and will later give it to my older children but I'll have done all the studies myself first before I give it to them. Lol and I have a womenhood shelf for sit down time with my daughters as they are young ladies now and much to learn about being a women and yes those things must be taught and shown value for sure too.

I really like this. Thank you for sharing. I definitely feel that with my first year of homeschooling, just as I prepare that I'm seeing things in myself as I teach my son. Love the morning/ night basket idea for moms....I would really recommend doing more research on the good and the beautiful before taking the high school course you mentioned due to their beliefs being founded on the church of latter day saints and being open to all denominations. As a Christian there can be some confusion.

Francine Rivers books are great historical fiction. The Mark of the lion series deals with some slavery too but that's not why I recommend it it's a great set of books. And john macarthur book Slaves your hidden identity in Christ is really good too. I'm getting the One Race, One Blood by Ken ham for us to read together next year.

Thank you for this. I have never struggled with sleep until now either. And we are not alone. I can't read heavy topics, because of these new anxieties. I'm choosing, because I have to, to fill my life with the beauty that is all around me and daily put the rest at God's feet. We are blessed with beautiful families and beautiful people all around us that need to see our faces & feel connection. So that is my mission. Much love.

I have a bible study bag that Is basically a mommy basket. But I might need to revamp it a little. I think this is a great idea especially for us mamas who struggle with anxiety but do have a deep relationship with the Lord. It can be challenging but there’s no denying how much better I feel when I really take the time to be still. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you, thank you for the reminder of modeling. It is so much easier to tell than show, but not near as impactful.
Just a tip on anxiety and sleep: I discovered during a very hard time in our lives, I can fall asleep more peacefully and faster, if I out loud, whisper, name the names and attributes of God. Emmanuel, God with us, has released tears, and anxiety at times. Other times my mind has focused on Jehovah Jireh, my provider. Maybe you could find a book on the attributes/names of God?

    • @username00009
      @username00009 3 роки тому

You can try rubbing alcohol or even hand sanitizer made with rubbing alcohol. You can also try writing over the permanent marker with a dry erase marker and then wiping it off - I’m pretty sure that’s what I did years ago when someone did the same thing on our glass kitchen table 😀

Go over the marker stain it with a dry erase marker. Wait a while for it to dry then wipe it off with the whiteboard easer.
