When I was little, and that was quite a while ago, I thought these plants only grew in hospitals and doctors' offices. Needless to say that perception has of course changed. I love snake plants and can't thank you enough for this very informative and inspiring video. Darryl
also as a tip, once you cut a leaf from the plant, wait about three days or until the bottom of the leaf gains a callus. this will help prevent root rot (further root rot if you're propagating because of that). just a little extra step to ensure healthy growth!
I Have Cut The Leaves In 4 Inch Segments, Waited For A Few days, Dipped Them In Root Hormone, Watered Them Slightly And Got Them All To Root Successfully. if You Water Them Too Much, They can Rot, So be Careful. Best To Do This Is When Weather Is Super Nice
Very Deceptive. Variegated sansevieria (with Yellow or white margins) Will not, in Most Cases, produce a similar plant from cuttings! The resulting plant will be Plain Green! Why not be Honest and SHOW how they grow, rather than a bunch of pots propagated by offsets, Not Leaf Cuttings!
i did this same method and planted yellow border snake plants.... but after few months they grow into new plant but full green snake plant... no yellow border can be seen.... it is already 5 to 6 inches height and grown 4 to 5 leaves.... is it common? will they turn into yellow border snake plant?
Thanks. Great video. My only question is once the roots are strong and you plant it in its own pot, how much water do they need until the pups start growing? Is it better to have them inside or outside in the shade? Thank you.
Hi. Great video. Can you recommend a humus soil? I looked on ebay and Amazon but the only things that come up is mixed soil, cactus soil, worm enriched soil and humic acid soil and powder. If you have a favorite brand or two that would be great if you could tell us. Does this technique work for any kind of snake plant? I have a birds nest snake plant from a gift store. It’s in small moss and water bowl. I’m not sure if I should replant it into something different and wondering if I can propagate with its short leaves. Thanks.
Hey so I done all of the above but I planted the leaf with very few roots. It hasn't grown at all and I planted it about six months ago, theres no growth but the leaf looks healthy, granted it is a lot shorter than suggested. My question is do I leave it to do it's thing or do I go in there and see whats going on down their. Instinct is telling me to leave it but I'm curious to see if it's rooted more and if not do I put it back in water.
Un consiglio : siete molto bravi e chiari nelle spiegazioni, ma non tutti riusciamo a tradurre nella nostra lingua (almeno la mia .. Italiano). Grazie.
What happens to the nice big leaves that are cut off from the original plant once it grows offshoots? Does the leaf die or can it regrow from the roots (and be saved)?
my snake plant was suffering from root rot so I tried to salvage any alive leaves that I could... if I planted the leaves like this, should I keep the soil dry for a few days before watering?
Some younger leaves and new plantlet emerging from soil lack the distinct yellow border. Will the missing yellow border come up when the leaves are matured?

I put a leaf cutting in potting soil and it’s been almost 30 days and I see a root coming from it. I’m so excited.
Hi! What potting soil did you use? ...I'm excited for your results! I can't wait to try it with my plant!
Thank you!
Antonio Gonzalez I used potting soil that was made locally by me but I’m sure any regular potting soil will work like miracle grow, etc!

Humus soil
Will the variegated plants keep their color pattern when cutting the blade off like that instead of taking it from the rhizome?
I did the same way before .. All started to rot.. Wonder where did it go wrong
Hi!!!! Can I put 2 or 3 leaf in the same pot to have a more "full" plant or it won't not survive?
Yes you can! Put it as full as you want! 😉👍🏼👍🏼

Excellent video, thank you so much!
Where do you get the sand? What kind of sand is it?
The new growth on the plant cuttings don't have the yellow stripes on the leaves.
You must say too that with this method the new plant grow without yellow edge. The new plant will be all green!
No, there are some varieties of snake plants. I have four of it.
@@Laboratorium.Pakjul Reproducing with this method did you get plants with yellow edges?
@@calcettosantarita I was also wondering about this. In this video all the new leaves lack the distinctive yellow border.

It's very informative video about snake plant, thanks for sharing the video..stay connected ..
What’s the mixture you made up to plant them in? To get them to root before planting them in?
It was 90% clean sand and 10% potting mix.
Do they need lots of light during propagation?
Not really, they are one of the easiest plant to propagate/take care of, just the regular process!

I did it, but what should I do to prevent it from rotting?
If we propargate sanseveria leaves in water will we get variation on the leaves? or it will be only green. You haven't mentioned that. Please check.
Interesting video.

Some younger leaves and new plantlet emerging from soil lack the distinct yellow border. Will the missing yellow border come up when the leaves are matured?
Yes.
Can we place them all together or need to place them separately?
This small piece will multiply and spread over the cliff.
