What you get is a deluxe version of Mongolian milk tea, usually with fried millet, several types of cheese, ghee, and sometimes dried meat. The herdsman sitting opposite enjoyed the daily version, just tea and milk.
i can tell they appreciate ur curiosity and the few mongolian language u speak to them. this is so wholesome. especially u because i can tell u have a curious mind and pure mind of interacting w the locals.
This is great community hospitality. Everyone seemed very welcoming. It a little different in the states. Some places can be warm and open, but not as widespread as this.

I never dreamed of tea with meat in it! It doesn't seem awful or really challenging, but I never thought of it! I don't travel much, but this is one way you know you've gotten somewhere.... When you have to say "Can I just eat this?", "How do I eat this?" kind of thing. When your meal comes in a big tea kettle! Mongolia looks better all the time! It used to seem tremendously obscure, just a rumor really.
