The fireworks going off on the final drop felt like a once in a life time moment that you happen to catch on camera. Super awesome to see Knott's all lit up and beautiful like this.
I worked at Knott's in the ride department over 40 years ago. One night a friend & I climbed about 1/2 way up the log ride mountain by the train tracks to get a good look at the fireworks that were shot up from the lake by the 360 cinema. You couldn't get away with doing things like that nowadays, but it sure was allot of fun.
my friend has climbed the jaguar temple twice in the past year hahaha. never once caught when we were there. what beer makes you do. i also heard from a friend that worked there that theres a giant whirlpool of water at the bottom underneath all of the flumes. the thought of that terrifies me. think ive seen it when trying to look over some of the tubes when inside.
Kinda reminds me how old safety spiels used to be handled in well-themed attractions like at Disney where they would be woven into the attraction somehow. Of course there was always the tried and true methods of having a sign posted, having a ride attendant speak over a microphone, or having a simple recorded line of dialogue (Matterhorn's "Remain seated please." Haunted Mansion's Ghost Host tells you he will lower the safety bar and to not use flash photography in-character, and Pirates of the Caribbean had the talking skull before the drop warning to remain seated "for squalls ahead". Most rides nowadays opt for signage in addition to a themed safety spiel in two or more languages, so it's cute seeing it done in a quaint, "in-story" version like this again.
I remember riding this for the first time about 40 years ago. Except for some updated animatronics and decorations, the ride is essentially the same! I totally forgot about the "ice caves" part of the ride until I saw this video. Thanks for bringing a childhood memory back!
Timber Mountain Log Ride is surprisingly older than Splash Mountain… thanks Eisner you copied again but you actually didn’t mess up!! Besides the fact you wanted it based of the movie *Splash* and not *Song Of The South*
Yes, John Wayne and his son, John Ethan, were the first to ride it in July, 1969. When it was renovated in 2013, John Ethan was the first to ride it again! Pretty cool!

Thanks for posting such a high-res clear video of it. Not only the best log ride of any theme park I've visited, but a ride I'd genuinely like to spend more time in each area. So much to see, a lot going on. It all goes so fast.

The final climb with the clack, clack, clack get's me every time. Ha ha. I want to try going during the boysenberry festival, if life returns to normal next year.
Thank you for this! I've actually been waiting forever for more good quality videos of the Timber Mountain Log Ride after it's 100th Anniversary update. There's a TON from around 5-7 years ago when the ride went under the major refurbishment, but hardly any good quality videos from after the 2019 100th Anniversary update; of which I was hoping most for to hear the new Krazy Kirk and the Hillbillies' music in better quality.
I don’t remember the log ride going that fast! Lol.. it does seem to last longer than a roller coaster ride though! 😁…. I miss Knott’s Berry farm! I haven’t been there in over twenty years! My family and I lived about 30 minutes West from there and we used to go there a lot or to Disneyland. But when I got my first little car, I would take my brother to Knott’s or go with friends. So much fun every time. I loved when it was around Halloween when it was Knott’s Scary Farm! Most of the rides were decorated supposed to have a scary feel to the rides, the log ride was the best. I loved going through the scary mazes, too! I’m so glad my mom still lives close by and one of her best friends still lives in Buena Park. So much has changed but I’m glad there’s still a lot of the original old themes, rides and the goldmine. My nieces want to go there now, they haven’t been to KBF yet. Good excuse to go too! 😁🩷

2:55 - I actually think this is the scariest drop on the ride. I only say that because it's in the dark, and it is much steeper than the final drop, so you have to hold on tighter.

@@Camquarters I heard that employees @ the Log Ride would go swimming in the pool of water under the ride in the hot summer after closing.
