In Ez 38-39, Gog is the name of the leader of a coalition of peoples living far away who will march against the land of Israel at the end of days. According to the lists of peoples in Gen 10:2 and 1 Chr 1:5, Magog is the name of a grandson of Noah. According to Ez 38:2, the land of Magog is connected to Gog. According to Flavius Josephus, it could have been the Scythians. In the Bible, in the New Testament, Gog and Magog became two peoples who go into battle with the devil on the last day, but are ultimately defeated by the divine Christ (Rev 20:8). We know that was the world power at the time, the Roman Empire, and they waged war with the Jewish resistance movement of the Zealots and their leaders, and in the end Jesus defeated them. The Roman Empire also later dissolved in 476 AD. Blessing

The Gog and Magog in Revelation 20 is not the same as Ezekiel 38-39. Israel was not living in unwalled village during the Roman empire. Israel had had a wall since Nehemiah, and it was well fortified.
Gog in Ezekiel 38 was someone who was prophesied about long before Ezekiel (Ez. 38:17). The people Ezekiel would not have had a clue about the Romans and the Persian empire ended approximately 331 B.C.
Next week I will share who Gog was and how it all played out in the Bible.
Thanks again for watching and for providing your perspective. God bless.
