I hope Tyler Herro now realized that he's not a primary option. UD is now an ESPN analyst and bluntly said that Herro is great as a 6th man, not even a starter. I blame Duncan Robinson's $90 million and Tyler Herro's $120 million contracts. What a waste a of money to keep being in the play-in. Goran Dragic said in The OGs podcast that Robinson is a great shooter IF he has confidence. Pat Riley called Herro 'fragile' in the exit interview. Riley is right - the heat overachieved the past few years, but it means nothing if we don't get the chip. Butler said he doesn't want to be the primary option, but he steps up when needed. Herro wants to be the primary option, but rarely shows up. He can't shoot his way in as the primary option. Herro averaged 9/28 per game. All his missed shots can convert to runs for the other team or offensive slumps for the heat. It's exhausting and annoying.
The Heat *asked* Tyler to be a primary option last season. Herro plays the way Spo and his teammates want him to play. Jimmy did not want to soak up a lot of on-ball duties last season for whatever reason and Lowry was pretty cooked...Herro was asked to step up until Rozier showed up.
Duncan is worth every penny of that contract
I'm not sold on Bam being the star. He's a great piece but why hasn't Bam carried this team in the playoffs? He had his chance against the Celtics and Miami only got one game.

If you watch the games you’d see he’s overworked on defense guarding 1-5 which then limits his offense. We need a big to help ease that work load.

We gave kyle money and he was almost the same age as Jimmy. Look how that turned out. Might as well trade him for assets to get better role players. We needed a center Gafford and Pj washington were available and we went and got Rozier. Look how that turned out for Dallas. We have to build smart and with the cap to not hinder the future.

This will definitely be a very interesting offseason for the Heat.
Multiple things to consider:
#1. Jimmy tried to flip the switch multiple times this season … & nothing happened. Therefore there are probably no “big seasons” left Jimmy.
#2. It is not insulting to Jimmy to let his contract run out & negotiate a new contract after the fact. What they did to DWade was much worse. Jimmy has been fairly compensated where DWade never was, so if Jimmy wants to be mad about that… that’s on him.
#3. The Heat are a strong organization & the Wolves are not. If Jimmy wants to troll or try and be a problem the Heat would be able to easily handle it… they were a great organization before Jimmy & they will be again after Jimmy.
Man the mistake was trading for Kyle Lowry in the first place. He was old when we got him so can’t blame age. 30+ mil for 9 points 4-5 assist most nights. Smh I was annoyed soon as we got em.
Lowry was a bad trade for 2 reasons age and not hungry for a championship he’d already had. Never trade for someone who has a championship at that age.

im okay with Jimmy leaving. bro took the whole season off just to get injured i the play ins. if he did that ish elsewhere, he wouldve been ostrasized. get what you can fro jimmy and get Mitchell. or if thats not on the table, then get good,solid role players. look at the mavs, they added pieces and all of a sudden they are in the finals. being a play in 2x in a row is not good. this season in particular, was horrid. no signature victories against good teams

Its time to move on. Paying $50 million a year for an old guy that coasts through the regular season and is injury prone is not a good long term plan.

Kobe made the Lakers relevant and then they paid him when he was old and washed and the team won like 25 games one season and his last season they won 17 games.
You risk destroying and handicapping your team when you pay an old guy a huge % of the cap.
If we trade Butler for picks and cap space we can use that money to get another great younger player when that opportunity comes along.
@@somebody9785 I’m not against your logic at all but I believe the heat didn’t maximize butlers time here surrounding him with the best options to succeed either. But butler can easily have 2 good years. With some help scoring wise he won’t have to strain his body as much and be healthier for the playoffs.

Exactly,transition him into more of a closer esque player .Bad roster decisions had Jimmy over extended reup him and Bam . Ultimately,it’s four years in the making but finally offload Herro and to a lesser degree Duncan use that 50 million of aggregate salary and get some real rotational players .

it doesn't matter who plays for the heat. if they're gonna get injured like what just happened to the heat. clearly they weren't in their peak because of injuries.
Everyone knows what needs to happen. Most of us Heat fans have been hoping that childhood Heat fan Tyler Herro would not need to be traded, but it isn't working. He should be traded i.m.o. to make way for the final era of Jimmy Butler as the leader of the Heat.
My prediction: Terry and Tyler get traded for a bonafide scorer, Jimmy and bam get extended and Heat retool the bench.
I hate both these teams so for all I am concerned the season is over already, I'm sure months from now it'll come up and somebody will tell me or I'll hear in passing who won but I still won't care, and i likely won't be watching a singular minute of the NBA finals. I'm already in the offseason.
This is the hypocrisy I continue to hear with most Heat media ppl about where Jimmy should go and what we should get back if we trade him. HELLLLOOOO we don’t have the luxury of being picky. Just like how we got Jimmy for less then value or was trying to get Dame for less then value. Or even now trying to get Mitchelle for less than value. We will lose Jimmy for less than value. Why? Because he has LEVERAGE since he’s essentially on the last year of his contract. Pat learned his lesson about making moves off of ego when LeBron left. Those moves set us back multiple years. You think Pat is going to hold on to Jimmy for a year just to bawk at him opting out when Pat can get something for him now lol. I doubt it. So if Jimmy says it’s Philly then it will be Philly. We’ve been finessing teams for years, now we are on the other side of that. Suck it up because at last we still got Bam, a HOF coach, HOF front office and still a destination team.
Ice cold take: They have not been able to build a true contender around Jimmy. Not entirely their fault but if it cannot be done then trade him. But for the love of God don't waste everyone's time by "running it back" after swapping a few vet mins out for other vet mins.
Need a true point guard and athletic center. Bam and butler can get it done with that

I am old enough to remember how this team was prior to JB coming here, an how the NBA world pretty much ignore this team. Bam is a great piece, but he is not a number one an the whole nba media landscape knows this.
