This is not Lapena, Right? Lapena is 'pigeon peas' in English. Also known as 'Cajunas Cajan' by botanists. I have done the same with split green peas, but fried it instead of adding odi. Very 😋
Hi Augustine, thanks for asking. Yes, this is Lapena/Pigeon/Gungu Peas, but they are split and the shells removed and are called yellow split peas. Sometimes I fry it too with onions and cooking oil when I don't have peanut/sesame butter. It tastes delicious too. Thanks also for sharing with us, what you did with your green split peas.
