Thanks again for a great video, I'm sure I'm not the only one who appreciates you sacrificing life and limb to bring us the close ups of this ancient place we call home.
New subscriber! Came here from link you shared on Reddit. Wonderful videos. I’m fascinated by Bronze Age civilization, especially Mycenaean Greece, so your content is right up my alley.
Hi, delighted you enjoyed! Mycenaean is my fav too, and it is all around me, unfortunately the Vids I love making such as the Pyramids are my less popular vids, but I intend to make more. My favourite is the Pyramids because living there it is obvious what their purpose was, but no on seems to have investigated them in detail, which is great!! I also found a apparently unknown Mycenaean Acropolis on the Methana Volcano (towards the end of the video).
@@GreeceExplored I will definitely check out the pyramid videos! Amazing that there are still significant sites that have not been investigated or even discovered yet. All the more fun for you and for us through your videos. Looking forward to watching your other videos and ones yet to come!
@@GreeceExplored You should because it's beautiful out there. I don't have the time to travel a lot in the last few years, so it feels great to revisit even from the screen. Cheers and take care!
Thank you. This was really interesting. I plan to sleep overnight near Mycenae after doing this hike. Could you please recommend any nearby towns or villages that may have inns, motels etc? I'll be on foot as I do not drive so things may be challenging. I wonder if they've got Uber or Blah Blah car in Greece.
To be honest your best bet is to base yourself out of Nafplio, which is about 10km from Mycenae, but a fab town (I have vids on it). Uber only exists in Athens but there are loads of taxis in Nafplio, I would get one to drop you off and pick you up from Mycenae, alternatively there may also be busses from Nafplio to the site, as it is popular. A cheaper alternative will be Argos, but Nafplio is better and a little closer.
@@GreeceExplored Thanks for your helpful reply. For some reason, I'm not getting notifications regarding replies. I suspected as much and so went back to this video to check.
I am very lucky, I worked in Asia for 15 years and am sort of retired. We (my wife and I) both do a bit of freelance remote work but it is not essential. I would never recommend anyone move here unless you can self finance from outside Greece

Beautifu,l it looks a good mountain bike route as well. Is it too hot for walking in September?
It may be a bit warm, yes, I don't plan to hike until October to be honest, and yes, it could be good for bikes too.

You are very fortunate to live in Greece. How do you make your living? Just curious.
