Gonna be a strong runner once that Mighty Zuke has been Broken in and Propped Correctly hope that Big Ole Bravo Prop does the Trick for your Customer.Nice Fish to Andy,we all knew you are still a Hammer with a Fishin Pole.
The motor isn't out of break in yet. 80's won't be difficult. Here's a fun fact for ya...Gambler's test boat consistently ran 1-2 mph faster with the SHO than the Pro XS.
2013 cougar ftd 250ss 26p scorpion 2 people tournament load with lithium trolling motor batt. 67-68 at 5900 atlas plate a inch up Just got a 27p 14.25 4 blade suzuki prop in. Will test out this weekend
Bravo is a very good prop for a Suzuki. Any Zuke prop needs to be better than 15 inch diameter, although I’m not a fan of the Water Grip OEM stuff. Scorpion, or VMAX props get the best top speed, but Andy is correct. A bit much bow lift. Makes the boat ride rough and hard in chop. The Bravo has more stern lift, and the boat rides much smoother.
Good video caught a few too. One of the major factors is speed and efficiency props with technology are looking at the best of both worlds. Have you considered the Sharrow props? Over is there the efficiency is pushing in the back ground. Food for thought.
@TeamMarineService wins would be fastest easy enough. Bring ur best prop for each engine short of a 5 blade clever and radar them or run em all side by side if u could do it safely. Fuel economy is secondary to anyone who can spend 100k on a boat but it does matter to us then cost of service third and cost of the power plant last idk
Here's my story. Im a noob. I've watched all your " good, bad and ugly" All of your "brand battles ". Why? Because im getting ready to retire and want another boat. I sold my 19' wa cuddy when dad passed. It was getting old and needed some work i didn't want to deal with, transom, floor. It had 13 years of running around the puget sound salmon fishing. Because of your videos, my 2250 stabicraft will be fitted with either yamaha or suzuki 150's. I'm not sure yet. But this video brought on new questions. What is " blowout"? What is a good break in procedure? What did you mean, "allowing it to heat up" when it wasn't running? Are you talking about " heat sink"? A video for noobs on what you take for granted would be awesome. Terminology, how/when to trim up or down. What a different pitch prop will do, and when you may consider changing to a different prop. I learned real quik with that 1993 17t merc with six carbs. Dont go full throttle if fuel consumption is an issue. I also found out about torque srear when the motor was trimmed to high. Felt like the boat wanted to flip over to the left. Scared the crap out of me the first time.
Nice video I have a Cajun 205 with a 2010 Yamaha shl turning 5700 RPMs at 70 mph with a 25 pitch fury prop trying to get more out of it feel like I should I have a hydraulic jack plate 8" any tips to advice thank you
Hi Andy. recent discovered your videos and Ive been hooked ever since. I appreciate you being honest with your thoughts and opinions on the different brands of boats. I have a question for you and I geuss it could be a team talk subject. if you could dig up any of the bass boat molds from the 80s and build a brand new boat what would it be? mine would be an 86 375v. only because I grew up fishing out of that boat and the 150gt on it is still as strong as ever. always been garage kept and well maintained. Again thanks for the great videos and fish on.
Definitely gonna be a fast boat! That 29p sounds massive! I really wish you’d do some prop suggestions on boats with the SHO. I cannot find anything or anyone that has prop performance info on the newer Skeeters like the Zxr21. If you have any advice on a top speed prop for the Zxr21 I’m all ears! FYI, the ZXR21 is the heaviest dry weight boat on the market at 2200lbs. Thanks great stuff!
Yuki Ito, who is the owner/founder of Megabass, has a late 90’s G209 out in Japan with some kind of tuned out Yamaha that’ll run in the 90 mph range. What is making you think the 29 bravo is the prop? I run a 28p scorpion on my 250ss on my 20 ft GT Strike and hit 74mph. I'm new to the fast bass boat game so curious what you are thinking with regards to props.
@@TeamMarineService if your thinking a bravo will have too much stern lift have the prop worked and the flare ring cut down a bit. That's what gives the stern lift. Or call the Bucknell's at hydromotive. I'm certain they can fix you up with one of their awesome props. There is nothing wrong with a 4 blade while running higher engine heights on a real performance hull. Most all the stroker, bullet and 21' allys run 4 blades with fishing loads. The performer 3 and 4 blade over hub exhaust props are killer for top end. But imo worked bravo1 and hydromotives work great with fishing loads. Would you believe I had a cookie cutter Stratos 294 with a bone stock 200 opti running just shy of 80mph with a worked 28 bravo 1 or a 27 turbo txp 3 blade. It would run 76-77 loaded like a dump truck going fishing with 2 guys and 78 and change light and just me.
Bad ass! Running an Atlas I like it but the Zuke DOES NOT like being above 4” so personally the 6” inch is all I need. Running my 250SS on a Falcon F205 and the best I’m getting with a 27” Scropion vent full open is great hole shot full tournament load solo top out at 70, add a coangler and gear and she’s a dog getting on plane and I might get 67MPH on a good day… I think I need to either get a 28” bravo or drop to a 26” Scorpion? I also don’t believe that Falcon was necessarily built for speed but phew man it’ll take some real big water and keep you dry!
@@TeamMarineService I will in March, I’m currently deployed to Iraq and will get home just in the nick of time for tournament season. Also I have a 28” watergrip 4 blade I can have my wife send y’all to test on the gambler if you are having a hard time getting props.

That mercury hoodie says go not so boldy but you can if you run a Suzuki lol
I am trying to redo an old dixie sling shot boat. If you have ever seen one, they look just like a old Gambler
Curious about letting the motor rest during B/I; how often and for how long?
There isn't any exact science to it, just shut it off and fish for 5 or 10 mins and let it heat soak
Good video caught a few too. One of the major factors is speed and efficiency props with technology are looking at the best of both worlds. Have you considered the Sharrow props? Over is there the efficiency is pushing in the back ground. Food for thought.
We have a contact at Sharrow but due to the price of them and the nature of our river system here it's too much of a risk for the potential gains
