Shifflet is an underrated guitarist. I know he's not doing anything special in this video, but he's always got a good live performance. Never see him messing up
I'm so glad that Pat Smear is in this band. It's like he's the old school guy with a ton of street-cred from the old punk days who should actually succeed. I mean Dave Grohl is the MAN - great song writer, producer, etc, but I know he listened to a ton of the Germs (Pat's original band) on his way up, which may have possibly inspired his current greatness.
My first and only visit to a strip club was when I turned 18. Got a private dance and this was the song that was played. Pretty sure it'll be burned into my memory for the rest of my days
i love the red filter towards the end, it's like a homage to the official music video. This song is about his love for going down on girls One of the last true Rock Bands left Easily the best Rock Concert in the History of TV
Love this band even old rockers like me can still dig the Foo Fighters!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dave is such a talent , Brilliant with both Drums & Guitar, amazing song writer, a true stand-up live performer and he is a great dad too! The Band just Rocks it live ! I hope they know all ages love the Foo ! My friends my age wonder what the hell I'm listening to when the foo is blasting in my house and in my car, what can I say ? lol,,, I just have loved Rock music since my early early teens. My first concert at 13 was 3 Dog Night and Stepping Wolf, I was in love with music from then on... Thx Foo Fighters, for going on tour in 2017 as I'm going to see you this year! I would take my 40 year old son, but he is a country boy, I grew up with Woodstock!!! lol.
If you haven't played and sung this song, at 45 years of age, in a hot fucking suit and tie, in a TV studio, under all those lamps, then you can't say shit about this. By the way, this was fucking awesome.
Corey Freeland Both this performance and the In Bloom video are references to The Beatles performing for the first time (I think?) on american TV, which was the huge kickoff to american Beatlemania. Pretty damn cool!
Also the Late Show uses the Ed Sullivan theater, so in this case, they are literally on the same stage where the Beatles performed on the Ed Sullivan almost 50 years before!

Some of these songs have cool titles you can associate with beatles and floyd songs. Like All my life "In my life",These days "one of these days",I should have known"I should have known better" and a matter of time "Time". That's just how I see it but for me it brings a great vibe.
@HombreComplicado79 You can't be serious... The Beatles was and continues to be the foundation of many rock bands today. They were together for 8 years and changed the world of music. And this is coming from a Foo Fighters fan!
God bless the Foo FIghters!! Give 'em ALL MY LIFE to do this song forever..Go check out all the other vids of this song and you'll find him in the same energetic state!!!!

i know, ...doing that riff in the verse like, so fucking flawless ...he is amazing
He did at Times like These on this same show, at Letterman lol
His side projects are all really good. He’s a lot like Izzy Stradlin.
He messes up in one of the Letterman tracks lol
Even when something happens he's always on it, always rolls with it perfectly 👏🏻
Foo Fighters always had this ability to build tension with their riffs and then explode.

Listen to the beginning with only one earbud in you can only hear Dave's voice

Anyone else just on a foos binge and watching for Taylor? RIP
Me, had all these letterman performances streaming on my TV and my 4 & 5 year old kids are loving it. All they’ve asked to listen to today.
Binging my ass off!!
We all do that, don't we ?
I’m always on a Foos binge … soundtrack to my entire fucking life right now

Sound engineers did a really great job! Foos have never sounded better live than in here.
I agree! The sound is crystal clear!
I love All performances in David Letterman.
The best
RIP Taylor Hawkins
Live forever Foo Fighters
this is truly a song that shows how he was inspired by Motorhead and Lemmy's love for the Ramones!
This is why I love the Foo fighters. How the hell do you write a song this awesome. They are one of the last good rock bands
Writes the songs.....lead guitar...lead vocals....arranges the tracks.....how great is Dave Grohl?
And produces
the fucking man!!!
Shiflett is lead guitar, but other than that, yeah.
***** I prefer Dave
***** Cobain was good, but he was fucking overrated.

The foo fighters have no right to be this good for this long
Hard rockers, in Beatles' suits and thin ties. Superb.
red lights at the end, wow fantastic effect
Essa é porrada! Uma das minhas favoritas! Foi através do clipe dessa música que passava na MTV que eu conheci o Foo Fighters.
Probably the best band of today’s era

This seems like Dave is paying homage to the "In Bloom" video.
There are the Beatles , there are the Stones and there are the foos
Well, Dave Grohl enjoyed much more playing with Queens of the Stone Age :p
Believe he was talking about the Rolling Stones
Yeah I guess so,in fact this comment is 1 month old and I don't remember why I posted this !
True. FF are miles ahead ;)
@@AashraiRavooru well most people would say they can't be compared, why would you bother?

Corey Freeland my thought exactly, Kurt was a huge fan of Beatles, so yeah, this is how they show their love to him..
@@JodiGilar Kurt wasn’t necessarily a “huge” fan he liked them but he said he couldn’t stand Paul McCartney
