Well priced with a proper auto transmission and a full-size spare wheel. I can't believe it. Rav 4 isn't worth considering unless you like waiting for 12 plus months. 😊

Should I buy one of these?? Heck! I did!! And the thing is, for just about every reason you've mentioned Matt, were the reasons why I bought one! I wanted something European and not too big, but yet still had a decent sized boot and generous interior room. Considering it's one of the smallest Mid-Size SUV's on the market, it has one of the biggest boots and because I bought a Karoq Style, it also has the very practical VarioFlex seating setup, which is very handy!
Being the base model Karoq, externally it misses out on chrome highlights around the windows, silver roof rails and an electric tailgate, which are all featured on the Karoq Style, but this is no big deal really. On the inside, it's pretty much the same as my Karoq Style and if you jump into a larger Kodiaq, the interiors are almost identical! I was very surprised by this.
After 6 months of ownership, I've done 4,900kms and I'm sitting on 7.8L/100km. I tend to have a lead foot, so I do enjoy a drive. I would've loved the Karoq Sportine with it's more powerful engine, but the budget could only stretch so far. A mate of mine bought a Karoq Sportline in Phoenix Orange! Such a cool colour and I was looking out for a Karoq Style in that same orange colour, but had to settle for Brillant Silver instead.
A great review mate and I can honestly say I agree with everything you've mentioned in the clip! There isn't much to dislike about it. A very underrated family car which deserves to be on the shopping lists of more Aussies.

We just picked up our new Karoq 3 weeks ago and am very impressed. Very quiet and comfortable. I was totally surprised by the standard features included in the 'base' model. We also got a great driveaway deal at our local Skoda dealer in Bayside. Shout out to Bayside Skoda!

A great review as always. Skoda makes excellent vehicles and the Karoq is amongst the best of their petrol cars. They’re comfortable and reliable. We have a Karoq Launch Edition, our second car but bought new, 2018, low kms at 23,000, absolutely reliable and drives so well. They’re an excellent purchase but as I’ve said elsewhere, negotiate a Service Pack as part of your deal. I liked the DSG’s, but the auto would be good. My last car was a Sportline, superb to drive, great DSG, comfortable and performed well. Mine got rammed while parked however, $8,400 worth of damage and 4 months waiting for parts. Skoda Australia were very unhelpful, something I won’t forget. I moved to EV after that experience. That doesn’t negate my love of Skoda vehicles, they beat VW hands down, and today’s review gives lots of reasons why the Karoq is a great car to buy. The base model is a fantastic buy, the Sportline 4WD is truly excellent, albeit my fuel use was higher than Skoda said it would be. The newest version will surely get 5 star safety rating once done. Warranty is great, and it’s a car to keep. An excellent review of a car that’s worth owning. Thank you.

Having bought a Karoq style with premium pack my 2 cents. The car has good space for 4 people or small family. City and highway drive : comfortable. The shocks are well balanced. The car doesn’t give you any unstable or rolling to uncomfortable degree. Long drives are not very tiring and the adaptive cruise was so helpful in traffic during Easter holidays rush on our highways. The ac is chill and quick to cool( I have optional heat resistant glass). Even though you can raise the seat height it can lead to angle of view that can lead to sore neck for taller people who like higher seating position. The economy is very good in highways (6l/100)and ok(7.5l/100) in cities. Storage and boot space is very good. Parking spots are easy coz of smaller dimensions. The bad : on coarse road there is tire noise. In cities rough road patches can create booming noise from rear suspension . On highways you do not experience any booming from rear suspension ( probably because I has lot of luggage in the boot). Overall a very good car and would recommend for anyone who needs a practical and good to drive family car.

It’s a great car and a perfect size for someone like me with 2 kids under 6. I was considering small and medium size SUVs but most medium SUVs (RAV4, X-trail, CRV, etc) are too wide and too long for my garage. I’m not really a fan of European cars - expensive to service, less reliable over the long term - so it frustrates me that the Japanese and Koreans can’t make their cars more space efficient. The Karoq is shorter than a Toyota Corolla Cross but has much more space in the boot and rear seat! VW and Skoda sure do make some very space efficient cars. I wouldn’t bother with the Sportline version of the Skoda. The 2.0L turbo in combination with the DSG is terrible - laggy, jerky, hesitant (well that was my 1 month experience in the T-Roc R-line which has the same engine and gearbox). But the 1.4L turbo with the 8 speed conventional auto is a delight. It’s very easy and relaxing to drive in the city. Good linear acceleration and plenty of torque. But I won’t keep it for longer than 3 years. VW and Skoda have a history of wearing out brake rotors prematurely and using dodgy plastic water pumps that don’t last beyond 60,000km. Yes I know they have a long warranty but VW and Skoda have a bad reputation for not honouring their warranty or at least making you continually hassle them to get it fixed. So in 3 years time I’ll update to the new model RAV4, CX-5 or Forester.

Its a luxury to be able to keep your cars for only 3 years.😅

My last 2 cars were Japanese - Toyota and Mazda. Had them for 13 and 8 years. No major problems. Just usual wear and tear. But keeping a European car for that long would send me bankrupt.

Great review. My ‘23 Octavia with the same powertrain has been excellent. No issues at all. Far more reliable than my previous Golf MK8!

Good review Matt, also waiting for Octavia sportline. I read somewhere else that this 1.4 engine and 8speed transmission is performing better on Octavia.

This is excellent value. It misses out on a few features found in a T-Roc CityLife, but it does give you a bit more rear space and boot space. If you are ok with a T-Roc (still has 445L boot and decent rear legroom) it is even cheaper and better equipped for $37,990.

Yep, the Skoda looks good as does the Kona. However the ZRV, in my opinion, has a face that only a mother could love. With Hyundai selling more than Honda, just 540 ZRVs in March, you'd have to be wary about the Honda. The Skoda is a very good package but is it better than the Kona? Geez, it's tight.

Would you really not buy a car because the sales tally isn’t huge? Honda isn’t about volume anymore.

I don't think I'll get a chance to cover Sportline in a video, but it's like I said - if you're an enthusiast and like the feeling of fastness, then Sportline is the pick. It's more engaging, more dynamic and has all-wheel drive, so it's grippy and zesty.

Id pick the Skoda Karoq. My choice would be closer to the Hyundai Kona if it wasnt for the annoying safety system with speed limit signs.

I've driven many VW products in recent years but decided to try a Skoda after experiencing very poor after sales service with VW. What a huge mistake. Took delivery with 3 faults and it took about 3 months and 5 visits to resolve. The car is a 2023 model and I've already had another 2 faults needing attention. To say that Skoda's after sales service is shocking is an understatement. I now understand why Skoda's market share is so low. Purchase a Skoda at your own peril.

Bought my Karoq 3yrs ago and have loved it. The drive is really enjoyable, comfortable and great on fuel with an average 6ltrs per 100klm. Would recommend it without hesitation.
