Looks like a muat buy fot the L-mount indeed! The Sigma 50 1.4 is a great lens already, and this gives a 1.2 in the same size, wow! Cant wait to shoot it!

I was typing where's the SL3 review as I heard you say something at the very end. LOL. Man this lens really make me at least really think about switching to the S5 II for real and work my way to the Leica SL3. Wish I could swing for that now but don't think I quite can. I shoot mostly portraits with 50mm. My favorite too!
L mount has been getting a great new lens every month this year so far. Hope this trend continues to the end of the year at least as L mount has been long short of lens variety.

I have the Leica 50mm apo sl lens looking at both I can say that the 50mm apo has better Micro contrast and no green fringe but for a 1.2 sigma lens it’s a beauty lens to add to your kit for makeup shoots or anything needing a 1.2 depth of field, but my observations is Leica Apo is the Ultimate, when it comes to image quality the master, you can see the micro contrast in the prints testing on iPad or 4k monitors are nice but ones you print you will understand.

I got an SL3 also - unfortunately just literally bought the f2 version of this lens 2 weeks ago. I'd love to see a video of your top L-mount lenses!

Thanks for this video - I have been tempted to switch to Canon for their stunning 50/1.2. I must say I love the flares from the Canon. Have you tested this on a Lumix body at all Alex? How's the autofocus? I'm currently using the S5, and not sure whether to switch to the S5ii or trade up to Canon...

I am doing a comparison on these lenses next. I would say I like the option of having 1.2 and would lean on the Sigma.

Just a suggestion. Perhaps a more relaxed posture would help. You are sitting too straight and it adds a lot of tension.
Maybe have a desk in fron of you? Which allows you to have the camera or lens you are reviewing a bit more in the center or at the 1/3 area of the screen. Right now its almost at the bottom edge. And the framing /composition focus is more on your chest and biceps. Lol. It looks more like a workout fitness video.

EF Mount won’t be getting any new glass, canon has moved on to RF.
It just doesn’t have the look…. Kind of flat, low contrast colors…. Would rather have a SL Apo lens anyday!
