Hay mark do you think I should wait for sigma to make an ultra zoom lens, since first came the nifty 18-50mm then the 10-18mm then a 50-200mm or 300mm or should I just get the tamron 18-300 now?
hey bro can you suggest me good camera for my UA-cam videos, my content is about art which is I shoot with forehead tripod through mobile. I planned for e10 then there are remoured about e10 mark 2 , then I planning for a6700 , so can you please suggest me did I go for a6700 or wait for e10 mark 2 . and please suggest me lens too
I hope to God that I get to a point in life that I will NEED this lens in my bag, but until then, I’m just gonna want it instead. An amazing lens from what I’ve seen from everyone talking about it
Hey, Mark. Could you please make a video with best settings for video vlogging for ZVE10+ Sigma 16 1.4 And video with best settings for photography? Or may be you already have such video? Can't find one. Thank you!
Hi, number of blades doesn't affect roundness at 1.2. It's fully open and blades aren't in the way of beams of light. Number of blades is related to smoothness of bokeh edges when aperture is lower than its min value (1.2). If you have infinite number of blades it would be perfectly round if you have three blades it would be similar to triangle (technically speaking Reuleaux triangle) . Number of blades also doesn't affect cats-eye bokeh. It's mostly related to size of an image produced by lens
I have sony and lumix system,I try to save for 50 1.2gm but love lumix stabilizer ,I can't imagin how my s5ii can take photo at night with 1/4 shutter speed with this lens. very tough choice for gm label or reasonable price
As someone who bought the Sony f/1.2 three months ago, I'm kinda wishing I had a choice between that and this new Sigma back then. Love the Sony but could've saved some money here!
Damn that 1.2 bokeh looks really amazing. But I'm personally done with these ultra fast lenses - they are too heavy and big for me to carry on a daily bases 😇 Great job as always Mark - Sigma owes you :P
I think I’ll stick with my Sony 1.8 do you know how to unlock the vertical tilt axis on Zhiyun Crane M3S. Manual says to turn the screw. The thing won’t budge. It lifted and turn the screw
According to tests by Tony & Chelsea Northrup, the autofocus is the big drawback. Hitting perfect focus on someone running(sports), the Sigma hit about 60% whereas the Sony hit 100%. Love your channel by the way!
Hi Mark, I have a Sony A7iv and I use to SD cards. SD card slot 1 for videos and slot 2 for photos. How to switch SD cards to view my videos and photos on my Sony A7iv? I won’t be able to view my photos if I shoot videos and same thing will happen if I shoot photos, can’t view my videos. Thanks!
I never find myself going lower than f2.8. So I’ll be passing on this one. Nonetheless great vid, my friend you hit all the points in 10 minutes. Impressive🎉
I was really surprised to see such amount of chromatic aberration on modern Sigma Art lens. Actually, can't even remember when was the last time general purpose lens more expensive than $500 showed these levels of AC. Otherwise, great peace of glass and great comprehensive review, thank you!
Marky Mark, 2 questions for you: 1. What are you using to hold your camera in the opening shot? I ask 'cause I have a Sony 11mm and even though it's wide enough, I wish I could get it just a bit farther away from my "gorgeous face." 2. (and possible video idea) Do you have any recommendations for individual lens cases? I only have 2 and dont' foresee myself buying more in the near future, so don't need a big boy lens case. I'm always using 1 of the 2 lenses I own, so I just need a case for the lens I'm not using.
There's nothing worse than being hit in the GM. It's worse than a low blow. Cheaper, but...do I buy the lens or spend a little more and get the a6700. Dammit! Too many choices. But, a 50mm at f/1.2 is a sweet spot that is hard to ignore for photography or videography. Another handsome review for the win.
I just deal with the Canadian branch - but it would certainly be odd if the sigma was more expensive than 50 1.3. I can only assume it has to do with taxes and shipping - maybe Sony has a better distribution channel for Australia?
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis Thanks for your reply Mark - it is strange. Right now, at a standard camera store (on line and retail presence) the Sigma 50mm f1.2 DG DN Art is A$2,885, compared with Sony 50mm f1.2 GM at A$2,299 (same store, so taxes and shipping the same). Changes the equation somewhat!
That's a monster 50. It's almost as big as my Sony 70-200 f/4 G Macro. Also, did anybody else wonder about that clump of chest hair popping up from Mark's t-shirt 🤣(yes I know it's the dead mouse for the mic)

With all the things you can do in editing today, I don't really see the point to a big heavy 1.2 lens blur noise reduction. All can be done with almost any lens you used today

I’m saving and was almost set to get the GM 50 1.4 but then this happened. Dang it. Now Sigma makes me think again.
GM 50 1.4 is superior in terms of fast and accurate autofocus, so think twice before you buy sigma
I can always trust your reviews. Great review again!
Most groovy! Thanks Mark. If I didn't already have the f/1.4, I'd probably have this in the [Pre-Order] box at B&H right now.
Me also Gm1.4
I sure would like to own such a lens, but can't pay the freight on it ...still smiling with hope. Mark, you're the man!

Wow, that there is some glass! Thanks for another great one!
Why did the f1.2 lens get kicked out of the camera club? Because every time it showed up, it made everything else look blurry!
🤣
Great job on the video Mark! Thanks for making it.
Thank you, Mark, you are objective and productive as always! I enjoyed watching the review!
I appreciate that!
Thanks you, too Mark! 😄

Great review, Mark! The sound is really good outdoors in this one. I wonder what audio system and lavaliere did you use?
I used the Tentacle Track E for this one. amzn.to/3TPljGK

No - Canon has banned 3rd party autofocus lenses - which is too bad.
