    One great subtle joke came from TJ MIller. When he gives the recruiter's card to Wade, he says, "I don't know, it might further the plot."

      +Zac Hughes Wasn't a big fan of the movie, it had to many jokes to the point where it took away from the plot. The movie was funny but some of the jokes were too sexual, and i am not going to be laughing like i am in elementary school over sexual jokes. The action was good but lacked it, didn't like that he used the 4th wall too much to go into flash backs in the middle of an action sequence, only to tell the story. In addition, he used way to many swears. This is my un-biased opinion, i liked the movie but not one of my favorites, looking forward to batman v superman and civil war.

      +thecomingofchrisit0 The movie was near pure fan service, to other fans like me it was not quite juvenile/ 4th wall breaking enough to exemplify deadpool, it's astonishing the general public has taken such a liking to the character, the box office and reviews show that they found the near perfect balance of mainstream appeal vs authenticity.

    Watched it Last night in IMAX... This film is beyond amazing. My personal favourite 4th wall break was when Colossus tells deadpool *"Im taking you to the professor"* and he replies *"Which one? McAvoy or Stewart"* !! Lool I can not believe how perfect this film is in being meta and breaking the 4th wall...
    The are literally soo many funny and amazing moments.
    -The Cab driver and Deadpools relationship is fricking awesome, And I am willing to bet serious money he will be in the sequel and pretty much every Deadpool movie in the future.
    - T.J Miller as Weasel perfection! You can just feel all the improvised lines between him and -Ryan Reynolds- Wade Wilson.
    -Colossus was amazing as the follow through to X-men. Love how he's the polar opposite to Deadpool, he's a boy scout type doesn't even like Deadpool swearing.
    - 12 Bullets, need I say more.
    and so much more... I need to see this again!

    "You better hope they blocked pain to every last one of your nerves, BECAUSE IMMA GO LOOKING!"
    One of my favourite lines in the movie. People usually only focus on the comedic aspect of Deadpool, but that line, and its delivery, felt like a good representation of what it's like when Deadpool gets serious. I heard that line and just thought "Oh poor Francis. You're totally fucked"

    That was a crashed Helicarrier from Winter Soldier , you could see the rings for the lifting engines on the sides when it was tipping over at the end during the last fight.

      +WalleyTVHD Except this isn't the MCU, so no it wasn't.

    • @ravissary79
      @ravissary79 8 років тому +1

      it was indeed some kind of helicarrier but it wasn't anything like the one from either Avengers or Winter Soldier.
      it looked old, smaller and the engines look like 50s era jet engines.

    • @walleytvhd259
      @walleytvhd259 8 років тому

      +ravissary79 It was not the "exact"same one as it was there as just a joke from another film but the damage to it was consistent to what happened to the 3 helicarriers in CA:WS plus 2 X-men were in Age of Ultron so there is some cross-over of universes. They made Robocop jokes too so there was crossover everywhere in Deadpool. Deadpool was a low budget film so no way they would blow the budget on one set. They did make the production budget back in one day ($60 Million and are on track to set records the bigger $200 million Marvel films make) so we will get better sets in the sequel.

    • @wraithflaire1639
      @wraithflaire1639 8 років тому

      +MrsRCharlton yes it wasn't the helicarrier. But it was supposed to give the impression that it was. Which it did. Deadpool is a part of the marvel and x-man universes. Back drop of the "helicarrier" was them connecting the universes without officially connecting them to avoid a law suit. The back drop itself was a humorous meta joke.

    The scene when the doctor tell Wade he has cancer, Vannesa starts talking with her, and Wade just look at her and start tearing up memorizing every part of her face was maybe the best scene in the movie, in those 15 second I realized how much heart this film has.
    This was a movie made with so much passion and care for the characters and the story, aside from the amazing humor and incredible action scenes, just remarkable.

    I think you're giving way to much credit to Fox. This is a movie that was willed into existence by the people behind it. The fact that it really didn't start to get going until the CGI trailer "leaked" should tell you something. On the other hand Fox the studio promised us Deadpool with Origins and told it's fans to go see it multiple times if you want to see a Deadpool film and a lot of them did...and they're only know getting the movie they were promised.

    100% of the scenes where Reynolds is wearing the mask is 10/10 but overall I give the movie a 7/10. Campea oversold the movie honestly. I didn't buy into the love story nearly as much as these guys seemed to have, they hyped morena's character as the non cliche damsel in distress yet that's exactly what she was in the end. Most jokes made me smile but only like 20% had me laughing out loud. Some jokes were kinda dumb and could've been done without. This character NEEDS to be in the final wolverine movie. FOX has never had a bigger opportunity to put two beloved characters together. Deadpool can be huge if you put him in the pg-13 movies but make no mistake Deadpool centered movies must STAY RATED R.

    Just added Deadpool to my FlickChart account thingy and after plugging it into my running tally of favored films, it landed in 23rd place. Had to think for a moment when I compared it to Rashomon, but it barely beats it. Deadpool doesn't beat the first Die Hard for me, but that was a tough call. FlickChart says I'd give Deadpool a 9.8 out of 10. I just saw it tho. Oftentimes the luster and novelty wear off a film and it slips down the list with time, but it starts higher on my list than I thought it would be. Thanks guys for a great spoiler review video.

    another thing - they don't HAVE to make deadpool swear all the time, they can still put him in other Xmen movies without being to vulgur, while STILL making other R films with him. you don't always want the comedy and 4th wall breaking to take away from the story- for instance serious characters like apocalypse.

    Movie was good fun. I personally preferred Kingsman to this as an overall movie and as far as 'R' rated Comic Book movies this doesn't come close to being as good a movie as either Blade, Blade 2 or The Crow for me - although difficult to compare as they are very different movies. Really looking forward to seeing what they do with Deadpool going forward.

    I think im broken or something, I maybe chuckled 2 or 3 times throughout the entire movie. I just did not find it anywhere near as funny as people are making it out to be. Hardly anyone in my theater laughed at anything either(maybe thats my fault for seeing it at 11 AM on a Friday with the senior citizens of America). But yeah, I thought the only funny parts were when they talked about the x men, like "is it Mcavoy or Stewart?" That was genius. I liked it still though

    I personally had read the script when it originally leaked. And now after seeing the movie it was really interesting to see how it was adapted into reality. And I did originally think that the constant back and forth between the present and past would be a little jumbled, but it worked perfect in the film. but the writer's of the script are responsible for a lot of the style of the film. There was more humor in the actual film than in the original script though.

  • @mariovalle198

    My problems with the movie were: a touch too many references to music, movies and pop culture; so much so that a few jokes fall flat. The villains were underdeveloped and the run time could have been stretched so the pacing could be a little more balanced.

  • @Sencez1

    I dont think the movie itself was as unique as people are saying. Deadpool the character is unique but Ive seen the plot before in plenty of movies. The enemies were boring and I found myself being bored with some of the origin scenes. Wish they would have shortened some of the origin and had more present Deadpool action.
    Pretty good film though. Could have been great and I feel that the second movie will be better cause they dont have to include the origin story.

    It's a really good movie, super funny. The downside is that the trailer IS the movie, which is to say the story is very rudimentary. That's not a huge deal, but it's weak in terms of it's plot. In a lot of ways it's similar to Guardians of the Galaxy in terms of the plot, which a lot of people critisized. In fact there's a joke by Weasel who says "go talk to that guy, it'll move along the plot." I'd give it a 8.9. It's the best Fox Superhero film IMO.

    I do want to mention the costume sequence they did, that to me felt like time was passing, it seemed like a year. He went to see his girl, didn't, then went to Weasel. Time passes, he's trying to find Ajax to fix him and he gets the costume. Then it goes back to just trying to contact her again. I also was trying to understand how the place Deadpool burned down was. Seemed like there's something more to it, and if Ajax's actually intended to inject Wade with the healing factor. Creating said Super Slave even though he did say he was going to "unlock" his mutation. On a final note something I wanted them to do was to play the "Deadpool Rap" at the final credits, but they didn't, I think it would have helped to maintain the final not they hit with the ending. It's Deadpool's movie and I would have loved that.

    Just saw the movie for the first time today and I was able to pick up on that a year had passed from when he became deadpool to the present time of the movie, because it was stated somewhere in there by I think deadpool. While I don't personally buy into the whole murder spree/Find Francis mission taking a year to do, it was a way of showing the passage of time in that particular area of the movie in a way that suited the movie.

    Hey Campea! Deadpool mentions that it's been waiting a little over a year to take the villain out, and when they go back in time to where he met Vanessa for the first time it said "2 Years Ago" then with the sex scenes it's about a year gone by, then when he left her it was another year.

    Loved the movie, and plan on seeing it several more times in the next two weeks or so. I think my biggest complaint with the movie is that it felt short...Most superhero movies seem like they're around 2+ hours and Deadpool was only 108 minutes. That might have just been me wanting to see more of this great movie. I think all the issues could have been improved upon if we had maybe 10 or 15 more minutes of great movie to explain things like the background of the organization, Vanessa's life after Wade left, and other stuff like that.

    My only gripe with the movie, which I loved, was that Vanessa wasn't called Copycat once...sand to answer the mutant power manifesting from the end of the video...Wade was in the Weapon X program, which was run by the military and injected with a serum to force a mutation, which is how he ends up with Wolverine's healing factor.

    When Francis was injecting wade with the serum to unlock his mutant abilities he also injected a yellow liquid that looked like it had blood inside. I think they'll possibly touch upon it being wolverines blood in the future. I give it 10/10. I saw it twice opening night.

  • @wuzzy41123

    I think the Mutant Genes were more of a reference to X2. Bobby's dad carried the mutant gene and passed it on to Bobby without being a mutant himself. Wade Wilson had latent mutant genes (which he would have passed on to his kids), but they ended up triggering them by making his physique evolve into something that can handle that kind of stress or to get him out of it.

    This was so much fun. It fires off jokes in rapid fire succession that there were a few that I missed first time through. Planning on seeing it again a few more times. My only gripes are that I wish it went even further in parodying the superhero genre and action. Deadpool is an example where action over story is preferred, and I felt the origin drag it down a little bit for my tastes. I wanted more crazy, irreverent Deadpool humor and action that really turned the superhero genre inside out. As it stands it turned it sideways, but it was still a lot of fun. Reynolds and Baccarin had great chemistry and sold their relationship. Plus the Deadpool costume looked fucking incredible. The costume designers did a great job.

    26:30 Guys Vanessa said that Wade left her two years ago. I'm not criticizing you for your opinion, but you have to keep in mind given that this was DP's origin story, and to maintain the balance between meta and romantic, they couldn't devote much time to Vanessa's POV. She even mentioned that she was homeless towards the end. I feel the screenwriters did a stellar job with the script.
