You can kill them much easier by first concentrating the plasma gun at one of them... The plasma gun is the only thing that can overload their shield, once it overloads, it turns off for some time, during which you should concentrate your fire on their mech sleight. Once you destroy it, they no-longer have shields and can fall easily. Killing them through the shield(like you did) is also possible, but veery difficult and slow. When you use the rocket launcher auto-targeting, it targets the head/ torso which absorbs all the damage. Use the manual rockets to target the mech sleight.

First time doom player. I hope this video helps anyone who needs help with this boss fight. Maybe I could redo this fight but in a harder difficulty.
