7 years ago I was a sophomore in highschool. I was also a major doom fan (still am) because I would watch my dad play when I was younger. I still remember watching this and screaming, and running to my dad to show him that Doom was back, and better than ever.
Seriously man. I went back to play this again to collect the remaining trophies, and holy crap. I felt like I was in a Prius compared to Doom Eternal's Enzo Ferrari.
Zombanic I saw where one of the developers said you can’t go back to 2016 Doom after playing Eternal. This was before it released. I was skeptical but wow he was right!!!
doom eternal actually feels slower to me compare to doom 2016 i mean the sprint speed. of course the ones here in the footage is nothing like the final product it was 3x faster than what was shown here. i love the game but i didnt like how they nerfed imp so much those annoying little shits are a nightmare on doom 2016 but on eternal they move like the zombies on re 2.
@@rogue8174 I think that's because Eternal has a lot more demons to fill the gap. Imps and zombies are basically moving ammo now. Other demons also seems to be a lot weaker and easier to kill this time, like the hell knights and pinkies. While they added new very annoying demons such as the whiplash and the prowler.
It looks slow becasue it's slow. They made it so slow just for the reveal gameplay because the game is to fast paced to show everything, it's intentional just for the gameplay trailer.
A few people have commented about the chainsaw having infinite ammo. It can actually be seen that this is a "super chainsaw" likely used for testing during development.
Honestly I disagree, the fact that in game the slayer does it so much faster and easily makes him seem like he’s fucking superman just mowing down demons like it’s an average Thursday. It makes the player feel so much more powerful IMO.

I'll never forget seeing DOOM for the first time in the early 90s, it was in a Radio Shack on some Tandy PC clone. They had it running right at the front of the store, garnering a lot of attention. I was amazed at what I was seeing at the time, how far we've come 30 years later.

ID has unrivaled creativity. Before this I lamented quick time events. It's utility is always used for lazy immersion. They turned it on its head and then, made it into a crucial part of gameplay that actually enhances the combat.
Call me crazy, but to me this looks and sounds better than the final game. The greyscale HUD, the punchier sound effects, the eyeless imp design (and they actually have sound effects in this), the green foggy thunder-y Kadingir, even the low, growly, glitchy industrial music is SO much more atmospheric, cinematic and satisfying. No 'IN THE FIRST AGE IN THE FIRST BATTLE' fantasy Sentinel stuff in sight. It's Doom to the barest of necessities.

Its crazy how this was 9 years ago,shows well how we evolved from the First Reboot(Doom 2016) later on Doom Eternal(which is both sequel to the new and old Doom Games) to Finally teasing Doom the Dark ages(prequel of both games).
I never got the chance to play Doom when it first came out (Having been born in 92) but when I got the chance to play it I became a fan and the moment that the game came out I instantly had to get it even before getting an Xbox One to actually play it but when I did, oh yeah did I enjoy it.
That demo killed my hopes back then, it was sluggish and played with a controller, then there was that demo from NVIDIA played with keyboard/mouse to showcase the GTX 1080, and finally it was shown like it should
Was this the same game!? Movement are so painfully slow, but retail has fast lace movement and gameplay. I can see there is a graphical improvement in the explosion, though it was toned down in retail version. Also AI were standing too still.
so basically what other creators did such as heroes 3 with map editor and of course my favourite unreal tournament map creator and my console favourite is far cry 4 Map maker. so they did a smart choice to allow custom maps
