This guy wouldn't dream of having an old truck like yours😂, but you have my respect. My 2004 Sequoia I picked up 4 years ago for $4000. It runs like a champ. Very few who spend $70k on a car will keep it until reliability becomes an issue. Resale value we can discuss. With Toyota’s crazy pricing, maybe resale value may not longer be a thing.
I picked up a '21 Tundra TRD Pro last week in MGM w/30k miles for 48,300, with a topper, from a Toyota dealer as a certified pre owned. Feel like I made out like a bandit.

But if I ever need to buy an suv I'll definitely look for a used one in the future

Something people need to recognize, is basically all vehicles are depreciating assets, and not investments. Most of these vehicles that depreciate slower have higher upfront costs and insurance that at minimum offset those benefits, and at worst completely negate any perceived benefit. We really need to stop thinking of vehicles as anything more than 1) a tool to go wjere you NEED and 2) a WANT for certain luxury features. Many of us really also don't need a new or any vehicle given the prevalence of remote and hybrid work. I haven't had a vehicle where it usually would be considered non-negotiable, and won't look back after accounting for all the savings on the vehicle, insurance, and maintenance. @@tammieandrzejczuk2573 fair enough, but that's unfortunately the dynamic of relatively fixed price economics. Cars don't really vary in price the way homes do by market, because people can go there or order if the arbitrage is worth it.
