Hi. Whilst a good change, there are two major drawbacks are. 1) the minimum 1M property purchase, totally over the top. Not because we cannot afford it but because there is no opportunity for equity growth and what HNWI wants to invest to lose money ! ? 2) the requirement to hold the property for 10 years, again that just ties up money for too long and offers no flexibility. Such a shame, nearly there but stumbled at the last fence. Let’s hope for a further review on these two points. Thanks for a great post.
If this program is so important for the Malaysian economy - why is it still not opened for new applicants? The agency audit/licence renewal tasks could have started in December when the new program was first presented. It seems to me the government is not serious about this program.
@@chestercheng.realestate Thank you for being frank. We have just been approved for Sarawak MM2H. I hope they open the Federal program soon and you get many buyers coming through to you.

Yes, i do agree. Maybe the government should consider review the property holding lower
I wish they still keep the monthly income as the additional option because lumsum deposit is too huge

Dont like the forced property purchasing with its entailed costs in a stagnent market with over supply.
I got my MM2H back in 2016. Is there any requirement that I should now comply with? Specifically the 90 days minimum stay?
Best to check the official site

Hi Chester, a quick question, can the fixed deposit be used on the required property purchase? Thanks
No, you need to have a separate funds for property purchase
I saw information after MM2H application successful, can withdraw up to 50% FD to purchase property right ? Correct me if I am wrong
