- December 3, 2024. The truck driver did survive the crash early Tuesday morning. The semi did punch a hole into the derelict hotel and the cab was inside the building. It had been pulled out of the structure by the time I was on scene. Heavy skid marks were left on Pacific Highway. The speed limit is 35MPH. Pacific Highway was closed during the removal of the tractor and trailer

I live in Fife and some of these truck drivers are not at all professional!
They were trained in India using bicycles to simulate driving a semi-truck, which afforded them exceptional truck-driving experience and made us all feel safe.

poor truck is now severely infested with bed bugs and whatever else that nasty hotel was infested with. Fife, a town that will write you a ticked for not coming to a full stop, but has a whole row of drug hotels they turn a blind eye at

Looks like there is evidence on the road that shows the trucks path. It would appear the truck was involved in a collision that led to it swerving
left into the building.

The hotel is completely destroyed. By the way, the truck didn't hit it.
It could have been the left steer tire blewout, If so it yank the steering wheel out your hands damn quick.Basicly you've lost control of the truck assuming speed was in the neighborhood of 50-60 mph not much time to respond. Dive for the sleeper if you can put more distance between you and point of impact. Was it just only the truck involved?

I live nearby , i just cant seem to figure out how this happened. How could he even get enough speed and get that far off the road at that angle to do that much damage. The fact that he survived is beyond me.

Unless there was a small building that the truck ran through it looks like it just hit a set of stairs and was not in the hotel building. Not even close to punching a hole into the hotel building as your description states. Nice pump though.
I to thought the same when I got on scene even though it was dispatched as into the building. I was told it had just been pulled out before I arrived and shown a picture of the tractor all the way in with the trailer against the second floor walk way. Look at the bumper of the semi. A debris trail follows it with some debris stuck in the bumper.
