The best thing about Indian railways is that wherever you are travelling, your compartment just becomes like a family and you talk and gossip around with them.
In 2015, I had the experience of traveling in this train from Dibrugarh to Coimbatore and made quite a few friends along the way, had some deep conversations especially with an Indian Army personnel from Kerala posted in Arunachal Pradesh who was going home for a holiday. This video just refreshed my memories.
That must have been a very resourceful conversation! Even I wanna know the life of a soldier posted so far away from his hometown. And he must have had some cool stories to tell too!
The biggest issue travelling in Indian Railway for longer than a day are the toilets. Even if the railway officials take efforts to keep it clean at regular intervals, there are always some morons who make extra efforts to dirty things up. Next big issues would be body pain and heat.
About sharing food on trains... I've travelled a few times by train, although almost always only for a few hours at a time and never this long, preferring a more comfortable and quick flight instead. Many families in India that travel long distances by train prefer to pack food - some even pack 2-3 meals - preferring to eat home-cooked food. I do remember sharing the same 6-berth section with a family of five a few years back, and the mother offered me (a solo traveller) some pooris when they began eating their dinner. The train did not have a pantry and the station where the food was loaded hadn't yet arrived. I wasn't really hungry as it was too early for me, but took two pooris out of politeness because she was insistent. When travelling with friends, the sharing of food with strangers, especially other guys, is almost a given... the desire to share food (and happiness) is kind of in-built. Also, not a big fan of Oreos, but I have enjoyed dipping French fries in milkshakes.
Before my father died of covid, We went on a long train journey atleast once a year for like 6-7 years, and we made friends with alot of families all being completely different from the other, different culture, different language, different religion, caste and backgrounds. But the common thing was that they were all very kind and joyful. My most cherished memory of a train journey is there was this group of budhhist monks, they were so positive, cheerful and lovely. They taught me chess and now i play chess for my college. Long journeys in indian railways are always a different experience.
Growing up we traveled for 2-3 days to our hometown during vacation. this made me miss traveling in trains in India. Damn, can't wait to be back in India and living a mini life in these trains!
12:34 Train is the only place where you will find BEST AND THE WORST people but usually best people are those who work for minimum wages, traveling long distance to meet their families and WORST are those who are kinda rich and traveling as if they have bought entire train
Basically every person in India are so friendly that each time during the train journeys that are more than a day long, we all make friends and just love to spend the whole time. I have spent maximum 2 and a half days inside train and was because the train was 27hours late due to heavy fog. Normally I spent 24-27 hours in train going from West Bengal to Tamil Nadu.
I would say the longest I've ever been on a train was around 24-25 hours. Not by choice, but by necessity. Plane tickets were double the price and my family couldn't afford it at the time. Most of the time I've travelled, it's been on trains as they are the cheapest form of transport and the only one my family can afford.
Ohhh ! Long train journeys with family or friends is the best ! Fun madness food singing songs playing games etc is awesome. Sharing food between families, that compulsory poori bhajaa 😁❤️🕊️🇮🇳😌.
Whaaaat ? My sister's name is Aditi too ! And our surname is choudhury too !!! But I'm sure you aren't her, my sister has some annoying user name on UA-cam, just like her😅
Just watching this video after reaching home from Guwahati, Assam to Dharamshala (himachal Pradesh) by train dibrugarh express. It was two days long journey on 2nd AC almost for 50 hrs one way and trip of 4 day almost of 90+ hrs back n forth. We were 4 guys (musicians) went to perform in Guwahati, Assam for a private event. It was an amazing trip.
The name really makes sense. I don't know what magic he has it feels like we are travelling with him and experiencing all the adventures. We want more from Monkey Magic
First of all: Train superiority flex! Trains are far, far better than flights. They always will be in my heart. Flight travel may be fast, but nothing beats a good train journey for me. Secondly: For America, I think it would be awesome to have a multiple day train journey from New York to Los Angeles. There actually was, once upon a time, but I think it has become obsolete now. Still, train journeys within California and across Europe are still awesome.
The girl with the food is like my mom , my mom used to bring biscuits and fried food , lime, and orange . People used to be so great-full specially new travelers when we share between meals in long travel
In India you can see and experience these kind of scenarios every time where people share their food, their seats with each other, their thoughts, long conversations whenever you travel in a train.
Omg you guys are reacting on his video, never expected that. I would like you all to see more of his vlogs they're really good and I think yall would really like it too.
That place would make me feel claustrophobic. But I liked how this guy was socializing with people. I am the complete opposite, which makes me envy him 😅
This is such a great Video to react to. Literally all us Indians have gone through this journey atleast once and this is what I call life altering. Great stuff!
Well, i travelled the same exact train from its source station to Coimbatore(few stations before the destination station),it took us 4 days back in 2002.
I met my best friend in a train journey when I traveled from Guwahati to Bangalore during my graduation days in 2007. It was a 3 days journey and we became friends during the journey and still going strong. It’s more than 15 years now and that is the best thing which has happened to me. I have met very nice people while traveling. At present I am in USA, the longest train journey I have taken is for 6 hours from New Haven to Washington DC, no one talks to you, even the passenger sitting next to you. It’s just greetings and then everyone is on their phones. I miss traveling in India.
at 18.55 it hits really hard i mean the train journy is as same as our life we get on a train with having no idea about our set or the kind of compartment we will be aloted ,then we look for a more kind of a seat that we think is more of our linking ,then the original passenger comes and we have to make adjustments , we see and meet a lot of people all along the journey we start making bonds with them have a lot of experiences together ,one by one we have to say by to those people and in the end we are again alone(you are again left alone in the compartment) till its our station arrives
You should try hot "Gulab Jamun" in cold "Basundi". (Or you can replace basundi with ice cream of your choice) i think you can order both from some good Indian restaurant. If not you'll find recipes for both here on youtube & they aren't that difficult to make either.
Fact is when you are eating pizza in India it taste like Indian food , you got veggie and toping like mushroom ,tomato ,onion, corn, etc but with extra cheese and chutney. we are like we eat everything but in our own style.
It's very common in India When people become happy , they share and distribute food. You should visit Bihar during Chhat Puja. Every person that did the rituals , share food known as Bhandara or prasad.
the longest route i have travelled is Delhi to Bangalore , it took 2 days and it was so much fun i made some friends , it was such an amazing experience
As a regular long haul train passenger, I recommend people refrain from such habits of accepting food offered by strangers in the train...I mean you cant trust people with not drugging you down to plunder you and get away. And such cases have happened before many times. So, Indian trains are famous for such cases in certain routes

Few days back I was coming from Punjab and I had waiting ticket that too of sleeper. I sat with some people who were coming from vaishno devi. It was a whole family. It was night time and I was feeling super weird cause of all the crowd and I had no seat. (I got to witness a fight as well). After some time one of them asked me till where I wanna go and I was sure they were going to ask me to leave their seat. Which they did. But the best part is that they asked me to take one of their seat which was in another compartment. I couldn't believe what I just heard. I told them I'm okay with a little space just to rest my butt as they might wanna sleep but they insisted me and said "hum konsa sote huye jaenge aap jao aram karlo". Later they came to check if I got the seat or had any problem. Trust me my faith in humanity was at peak. All the prenotion I had about them or the people shattered. They were the best humans. I wish them happiness and prosperityprosperity.

The best thing about Indian railways is that wherever you are travelling, your compartment just becomes like a family and you talk and gossip around with them.
except when you have obnoxious selfish ill mannered co-passengers ughhh
@@darkreaper4990 Yes, remember that half of Indians are below 80 IQ. Parents literally tell children to throw garbage out on the tracks.

Travel in AC compartment dude 😂
@@iruma9274 at that point flight is better option. Cuz of price are same of first AC and a economy flight
