The one thing you can do is train to be better than them, despite them having a head start. It's not about who you were, but who you are and who you can become.
I look at it this way I may not be as good of a player but my parents let me ride bikes and drive go-karts and play video games instead of being forced to play my guitar 24/7, and I'm OK with that :)
And also, since a skill is likely to have come easy to a prodigy they probably won't value it as much as a regular person. In fact they may even hate it, since they feel a pressure to pursue it just because they're good. I'm quite happy playing what and when I want for fun just to be able to play my favourite songs and maybe experience the joy of playing with other people
Look a child prodigy can play the scales at speeds never thought possible But until they write songs that make me genuinely feel something, I'll always prefer those who play 3 chords and the truth over the master shredders. (And plenty of them go on to make very good music too, but chops aren't the only way to be memorable as a musician is all)
Sad truth about these young shredders is, they will miss out on being a kid. "Can I go play with my friends? Not until you practice this scale for 8 hours
Why did this short video show me how to use a metronome for pentatonic scales and shredding…. I’ve been playing for like 2 and a half years and never got around until now and a few weeks ago how to play music with time signature….
This is why I don't watch videos of Asian musical prodigy's anymore.. It's like, Yo.. You just got pwned by an 8 year old in a sun dress.. It's a very humbling experience 😆
Good to see you again!
I been playing 20 years and still getting upset at the child prodigies
Watch TwoSetViolin and their take on child prodigies. You will be entertained.
Shit.....42 years!!! Yep. Had a good time growing up though👍🏻

This is an underrated comment.
Prodigies can come to resent their skill and instrument due to opressive childhoods.
I'm fine with learning at 20

Should be flushing myself down the toilet

i dont ever get upset about somebody for beeing better than me or something else. its easier to not compare yourself. everyone is different.

Welcome back, man.
music is not about competition
I’m about 2 years in and I still feel the same way how do I leave this behind bro
Focus on finding your own identity and not on being better than somebody else. Musical and life advice.
Very funny - great Idea 💪😎🎸
This completes me!
Why do you even bother touching your guitar there if you can just chug and be happy🤘🏻🎸
Agreed, I don't go higher than 7th fret on any string
