I have played this song on more trips across Canada and the US than I can count. Nothing better than being home to see Matt at the Main Event! Thanks Matt.
I know full well that this tune is an old Marshall Tucker Band remake but The Dialogue that Matt puts into the intro of this version makes it 100% East Coast Canadian........I have been in Ontario many many years now and this version by Minglewood is now and always will be my Anthem.............Love ya Matt.
This guy rocked my world playing 8th and 8th in calgary...little pub...shook his hand...lots to be told about a handshake:).....He is true and a true musician for Canada! My Love and a chest pound for Matt!
@sandi11389 - big time. i remember after the fire (when we were there for the summer) folks coming forward with guitars we could use since ours got torched. I was the drummer. Fond memories.

I see that this thread started in 2007. Matt is a better guitar player and singer today (2018) than what you all recall.
Matt was a better player when he was young! like anybody playing high energy rockin' blues,
compare this to the original version,
Fuckin eh. Great version of the cape breton anthem.
